Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Reacts to Dad Accused of Abusing Son to Death on Treadmill

Ойын-сауық

Christopher Gregor is accused of killing his 6-year-old son Corey in April 2021. Corey was rushed to the hospital with multiple medical issues two weeks after Gregor allegedly forced him to run on a treadmill at high speeds. The prosecution accuses Gregor of consistent abuse against his young son, while the defense says Corey’s death isn’t so cut and dry. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber sits down with Johnny Depp’s defense attorney Ben Chew to talk about the charges, Gregor’s defense, and what we can expect to see as the trial continues in New Jersey.

The child was certainly being abused, that is why he was so silent when falling off the treadmill. Any kid with a normal dad would feel free to ask to stop getting back on the treadmill. But that boy was silent, showing he feared a worse punishment if he complained or expressed himself.

The fact that he continued to try to get up and run was heartbreaking and disturbing. You're right - he knew the punishment for stopping would be much worse, so he kept trying. No normal 6 year old is going to react that way

The "father" was likely making all sorts of threats to the child. That his mother would be hurt. That he'd never be allowed to see his mother again if he said anything. Or she'd be blamed and sent to prison. These types of threats are very commonly used by family members who are abusing children. This is very likely to have been the case with Madeline DeSoto, and why she never spoke about what was being done to her.

The child DIDN’T know how to start with both feet OFF to the side. Watch closely and you’ll see the dad tap his foot on the side of the treadmill after he watches his child fall off over and over and bites his son on the top of his head like an animal. This dad is a psychopath.

He might just be an overly calm person who was raised by a tough dad. You can't say he's a complete psychopath with little info. My dad took me to the hospital when I was a kid and he cared but wasn't showing emotion cause I find out as an adult that his father was tough as nails and my dad learned thru physical abuse to not react or show emotion cause the beatings would just get worse. So you don't know if he was acting like a psycho.

My dad also died of sepsis. He didn't get the chance to have antibiotics. He hurt his stomach, about half hour later he started slurring his words and because he had a history of a stroke, I called an an ambulance and before we even got to the hospital, he became delirious and went into septic shock. He died a few hours later. My daughter also had sepsis when her waters broke but no labour, she was told to wait 18 hours before going to the hospital, had she done that she would also be dead, one of the most terrifying days of my life her having sepsis after my dad dying only 6 months before. Thankfully she got IV antibiotics and she was fine. I think Cory's got sepsis due to the laceration on his heart with bacteria from the wound getting into his bloodstream. All the symptoms cory had were exactly the same as my dad when he went into septic shock. No way he got sepsis from pneumonia, no signs of any chest infection. Poor little boy, I cannot imagine the suffering that monster put him through every time he stayed with him.

I would love to know what the relationship was like between him & the mother .. exactly why he wasn’t in the sons life for 4yrs. It’s no wonder she was taking drugs to probably cope dealing with him. He took all the hate for mom out on Corey. The judge that watched the video of the treadmill 12mins before it was sped up .. falling off .. shoved back on held and bitten … and still allowed him back into the father’s custody.. no questions asked. When are these judges ever going to be held to account? Corey was dead the next day.. I wonder if they even feel remotely guilty, Corey was a beautiful little kid .. perfect little cutie . @@rahla53 well the next day 2 weeks .. like really what’s the difference.. it was almost instant … like he was in immanent danger .. even if it was a month or 2 later .. where is the guilt or sense of responsibility to these vulnerable young children as a judge putting them back into the arms of an abuser . Even if he thought the mother not right for full custody the child who has a name Corey should have been taken into protective custody.. but instead despite a 12+ minute video clip of blatant abuse so much so jurors gasped and the multiple bruises on the boy … he didn’t even give the dad a warning just refused the emergency custody order on the grounds of abuse by the mother after more than 100 calls about suspected abuse. Do judges like this even feel a slight bit of guilt they got it wrong and a child is now dead because of their decision that could have been saved if they had judged differently .. or are they so narcissistic they can’t even apologize or accept responsibility.. after all they are paid enough to take on that responsibility.. when they fail they should be held to account.. then more children would survive because they wouldn’t take the risk to their career/ earnings. But you never see them held to account for their decision that result in dv murders or child murders or assaults.

IMO the Defense Lawyer will help find his client guilty by his tone of voice alone, and actually yelling at female witnesses. Does he yell at the male witnesses. He raises his voice a octave higher with a bite in it, but no yelling, which I found shocking.

This defense lawyer knew this pediatricians testimony was devastating for his client, and it showed in how he treated her. His CLIENT is guilty, and he can't defend him in any meaningful way. Mom had her own demons, but Corey seemed happy and healthy with her. This little boy didn't last 2 years after this monster got custody. Rip, little Corey.

His injuries slowly leaked into his abdomen causing sepsis. The father knew he was dying by google searches. He didn’t want to explain him dying at home most likely. He knew about the bruising, the possible of gi bleeding and internal bleeding, of increased wbcs and increased blood sugar somehow and wanted more information by evidence of google searches. This is horrific child abuse resulting in murder. The maximum penalty is more than required here !!! 😮😮😮
