I've got 2 pairs of ostrich boots. 1 pair are pre 1981 Enid Justin era Nocona ostrich legs. The other pair are early 2000s era Larry Mahan full quill ropers built in the same Nocona factory as my Enid's. Both pair look and wear like new even after several resoles and heel jobs. I use Bickmore products on them. They will go to my kids when I'm gone.
I wear ostrich boots everyday at the office. And buffalo when working outside.
It's noteworthy to mention, the "Cooling Factor" and that they' dissipate heat away from the inside for a comfortable & cool feel in the warmer weather. 👍

Do all the leather variations (full quill, smooth, ..) have this cooling factor¿

@@FishDR I've experienced Full quill to be the coolest on the inside, and smooth Ostrich, as well as Ostrich leg. I think all 3 types of Ostrich, have that comfortable cooling effect., especially in warmer temperatures/climates we see in the summer months. 👍

Does anyone wear Ostrich or Goat leather boots in Florida during the Summer? May be tooo hot and humid. Thoughts?

@@TalentNetworked I have, but in the evening. 👍
I have a pair of ostrich boots i got in Mexico over 20 yrs ago... still look awesome
I have a pair of Tony Llama ostrich. Use Bickmore Exotic on them.
Purchased some Tecova full-quill ostrich cowgirl boots, thanks for this video.
Awesome interview! Love it.
Good stuff. I have full quill and smooth ostrich and love them both. I use Scout exotic on them. I didn’t realize it was so tough.

I just bought a bottle but haven’t used it yet on my ostrich boots, will it change the color on my boots? That’s my biggest concern
Great job!!
I love my JW Boots ostrich. Holding up well.
I just bought a pair of Tecovas Weston smooth Ostrich and I am starting the moisturizing phase of the break in process.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! Whew - I'm feeling much better about a vintage pair of women's Stallion cowboy boots (full quill & smooth), red, white & blue (totally gorgeous). They definitely need to be softened & conditioned. I might take them to a professional for them to be cleaned and conditioned the first time, and then I might get brave enough to do it myself.
I have a pair of lucchese classics roper boots full quill on the vamps, smooth on the side & backs.
I got my first ever pair of boots awhile back and they are ostrich boots and I didn’t know all of this info 😂
27 years ago I purchased a pair of Full Quill Ostrich boots by Dan Post and paid nearly $700 back then. I still have them and wear them when I dress up.
they´re beautiful, stylish and very durable as long as you clean them up and condition them..... I own 9 pairs of full quill and to this day it is my favorite exotic skin. I always get compliments when I wear them, ( 2 pairs of Justin, 2 pairs of Lucchese and 5 pairs of Tony Lama , all full quill ), snip toe, medium round and my favorite J toe or ¨pointed toe¨, not a single pair of square toes - do not like them.

Not a fan of the square toe either.

So what about leg skin. Is it just as tough and the full quill ? I like the way the leg skin looks vs full quill

Would love to see yall do a video on pirarucu boots
Hey y’all - just got some tecova ostrich’s..love em so far. I’m wondering what the recommendation for using all weather AND conditioner is? Should you apply both? Any reco’s are welcome. Thanks!
Legacy hype was the rose anvil’s conclusion on ostrich (ie they use to be rare and it was a monopoly so people expected it to get expensive but times have changed). Evidence that he might be right is you can find them in multiple colors.. not the case for alligator or crocodile. Note I’m not clear that the rose anvil guy is a cowboy boot enthusiast like Jeremiah. Boot makers put up with its peccadilloes because they can get more $ for it. I prefer reptile leather, but I do have 1 ostrich boot. I would not pay a grand for a pair, but I did pay a 2x over cow hide for one so consumers (including me) will pay a premium even if they don’t think it looks as good as alligator or crocodile.
I just got a pair of ostrich I have python and lizard and so on but next is Gator!
Lucky boots and ballads winner on this one!
I bought the Tecovas Emmitt square toe ostrich back in December, still doing great

@@HondaRedWhiteAndBlue I usually just wear them on weekends, they look to good for work, they still are holding up very well
Do one on goat leather!
J, can you do a review on cheap leather vs quality leather. Especially for women boots.
We are the supplier of ostrich leather, are there any way to connect to the boots marker?
There absolutely is conditioner that won't darken lighter colored ostrich. Medium brown and lighter use Saphir Delicate cream. Medium brown and darker use Saphir Reptan cream. Reptan is the best but has a tendency to darken lighter exotic skins, delicate cream will give you 90% of the conditioning power of the Reptan without darkening.

Thanks for the tip, I’ve been holding out for the right conditioner for my ostrich, they are light, actually it’s called pecan

Best leather boots ?
Buffalo are animals in 2 areas one in Asia and the other in Africa and over here in North America we have the American Bison.
I have some ostrich boots and it has some water marks, if someone reads this comment can y’all point me in the right direction and let me know what gets them off?
What about creases? Can you get them out?
@JeremiahCraig

Use cedar boot trees in them when you're not wearing them. Might not fix all creases but it will even some out a little

@@JeremiahCraig would that also work for breaking into them.
It depends on what’s real and fake And the quils are delicate and you don’t want to walk in the rocks
For all of us with hot feet..
I got to say I disagree that ostrich is just a durable as elephant I have both and my ostrich I hit a table and it ripped it and I bang my elephant All around and they don’t even have a scratch on them
@criticalthinking3709
14 күн бұрын
Yeah I’m calling bs on that as well. Elephant is bullet proof and Ostrich is thin and pliable. Also not all conditioners darken the leather either. I’ve used Nick 4 and Venetian cream and neither of them darkened my Tecova sand Goat boats which are really light.
"Leather ostrich boots, yes I have because leather is fun and simple but ostrich cowboy boots, if they're badly made, I won't like it!"
those boots are not $140 with code, BS!
