@@subman23 Oh, I don't know: for a good show, I grant you that the international crowds are amazing. Def need more international shows. But the downside of that excitement is that they can be less critical of a bad show. (same as the shows in rural parts of the US) As much improved as WWE is at the mo, they still need a bit of supervision. When a show is bad? Give me an Impact Zone crowd or a Newark, NJ crowd any day; to chant 'That was weak! That was weak!' and to just get up and leave early if the main event sounds boring. XD

Tempest is never going to get over Dan saying Mania 19 was fine, but slightly forgettable

Yeah, as a guy who really came into watching their longer content during the pandemic, I really couldn't come up with a better advertisement for Cultaholic then WrestleTalk saying they wouldn't do _any_ live reaction because they couldn't go to the pub. Especially with them in that bigger, better studio that they formed a whole storyline around the transition into

I think it’s mostly because of the winner being Otis and going basically nowhere with that. I personally enjoyed that match lol but Otis winning and treating the Money in the Bank as a joke was terrible.

Backlash 2000 holds a special place in my heart, was the first one me and my friends stayed up for to watch on Channel 4, we wanted Rock to win, and the show itself is pretty solid all around, I even adore the absolute squash that is Malenko Vs Scotty 2 Hotty cos Malenko just surgically tears his knee apart to set up for the Texas cloverleaf, actual psychology!!

Those crowds were jumpin'. I'm sure WWE wants to spread their wings all over the continent to big crowds. Can imagine the next crowd at one of these countries that have never gotten WWE before.

I'll be honest, when Triple H said that he wanted to do all non Big 4/5 shows outside of the US. I questioned this at first when it was speculation back after Rumble last year. After EC 2023 and the last two Backlash shows, I'm on board. These crowds have been red hot.

As someone who rewatched the No Holds Board videos recently these digs at Dan “He knows what he did” Layton are great.

Backlash 1999 was a great follow up PPV too. It righted almost all the wrongs of WM 15.

I will still contend that Cody beating Big Show by seeming accident is a perfect heel Cody move. Big Show was a confident, cocky babyface and had the run of the match until he set up a table, and Cody seized an opportunity.

I'm not sure how many "wrestlemania rematches" there have been, I'm saying like full on full year after or several years after, but I think you could hit us with plenty of best and worst Mania rematches. Hulk vs Andre, Triple H vs. Undertaker Threematch. HBK vs Taker, Hardyz, Dudleys, E&C rematch from 2000/2001, Rock vs Cena. Lots of choices to go for!

It cannot be overstated how important that match with Cactus Jack was to Orton. In short, it showed the world he wasn't a pussy and cemented him as a future star.

I'm with you on Backlash 2009. Maybe it's just because Edge, Christian, Orton and Jericho were my favorites at the time and they all got a huge spotlight, but it was a great show, and the only wrestling show I ever bought a DVD for after watching it.

I went to the Raw after Backlash 2000. It was in Baltimore. The main event was The Rock vs Shane McMahon in a cage match, lol. . . Plus Edge & Christian were tag champs and wrestled Rikishi and Big Show.

I feel like King of the Ring 1993 (and maybe even 1994) deserve an honorable mention. While they weren't what we now think of as follow up PPVs as they were in the next month, they were in the literal follow-up PPV and both were incredibly good.

Ay-yai-yai...The only match from the Worst #01 that's worth your time is the Cruiserweight Championship Match. I only watched that show once, and I'd forgotten what a mess it was.

I remember popping in my room big time for Austin when he showed up at Backlash 2000, doing the thing he did best by clearing out the ring of basically the entire McMahon-Helmsley Faction as they tried to screw Rock over. Yep, should have been the Mania 2000 main event and could have really improved the quality of Mania 2000 overall. I think a few of the matches get overlooked due to the overall bad taste it leaves(Angle, Benoit, Jericho and the triangle ladder match comes to mind as keeping the show better than awful)

Well am glad that Unforgiven 98 was not on the list for worst ppv after maina but i can see why it did not make the best. The infero match was good and Dude Love vs Austin was decent for Austin's first title defense, HHH vs Owen is alright but most of the card i could tell had no heat to it. Fun to watch but now Mind blowing. Plus i have the VHS so i fast forward Double JJ singing.

mitb 2020 is a guilty pleasure for me, mostly for that ladder match. was it a good ladder match? no. did otis being a winner make no sense? no. should they have just announced becky vacating the title before the ppv so the mitb wasnt just a glorified women's championship match? probably. but the match itself was just good, dumb fun. i do agree with the alestier black being in a food fight comment, which more shows wwe's complete and utter distrust in alestier black to do good, but your more 'wwe' centric guys excelled in that ladder match - especially asuka, the crossbody off the balcony is one of the most insane moments in a match i can think of. edit: god i hate this comment -- that crossbody thing is not the most insane things ive seen in a match lol. i also said otis winning did make sense :')

I think as a community, we need to take the pandemic Era, and stop shitting on it. I get it, but most entertainment sources stopped. WWE didn't. And yes that created some garbage, but over all, they could have all just went home. WWE didn't. And for me, it was nice to have something to look forward too while stuck at home. The MITB was dumb but for what it was, I'll always appreciate them trying. And the best silent tv match was Dragonov vs Walter 1.
