Punk vs Y2J at Extreme Rules 2012 should honestly be on the list. Their WM 28 match while pretty good took it's time really get going while their Chicago Street Fight at Extreme Rules really lived up to their personal blood feud

YES ! I loved that match at the time, was it not for Taker/HHH, I think it's my favorite WWE match of 2012.

I agree personally I hated the Mania 28 booking mainly cause I wanted Punk to beat the shit out of Jericho and I personally think that “if the champ gets DQed or Counted out they lose” stop only works for heels. Also Johnny Ace making it that was stupid because his reasoning was “punk didn’t celebrate him becoming Raw GM” I’m sorry he was preparing for his match

I think Cena duct taping Batista's legs around the pole is a good finish to a last man standing match. Sure, it's silly, but wrestling should sometimes be silly, and this finish makes use of the unique win condition of the stipulation, so I like it.

Yeah but their match at WrestleMania was honestly just as good.

Honorable mention to John Cena vs Shawn Michaels. Their Wrestlemania 23 match was fine. But, the next match they had was a 69 minute classic, that I rabk as one of the best matches to ever occur on televised wrestling. The only reason it can't make a list like this is because it happened on the Monday Night Raw 6 days before before Backlash. If Tempest hadn't specified that it must take place at "the very next pay-per-view, I would have placed Michaels/Cena at Number 1 for this list.

Punk and Rey's feud could have gone on a bit longer if Punk had won at Mania. The Randy/Punk feud was great... except that Punk lost ALL 3 MATCHES in the feud. 🤦🏾‍♂️

If the rematches stipulation included PPVs from further on in the same year, the Hell in a Cell match for Batista v HHH would 100% be on here. That cell match is ludicrous from start to finish, and I still love the ending shot where they toyed with the idea that Trips would bail out with the sledgehammer only to not pull the trigger fast enough. Solid list all round, and keep up the amazing work ^^

Finally, someone who acknowledges that Punk/Orton & Rey/Cody were good matches at Mania 27. Im not trying to say that Mania 27 is some hidden gem, but it does annoy me when people say that the show has nothing good on it (I’d argue it has more good on it than Mania 32.)

Those two matches were some of the only good things on that show.

Just based on how bad the first match was, I’m surprised Hogan and Yoko from KOTR 93 isn’t on this list. Not a great match by any means but better than the 30 second match at Mania 9

Honourable mention goes to Triple H Vs the Rock at Backlash 2000, not included in this list for obvious reasons... But that should have been the main event of Mania.

Jericho vs. Punk from ER 2012 seems like a pretty glaring omission. I'm also shocked at #1, I think Rock and Austin's match at Mania 15 was the best match they ever had.

Sheamus/Bryan gives me so many feelings. First, I was very looking forward to their match at WM27 and I watched, waiting for their match, and then Cena/Miz started, had no clue it happened on the preshow... Then WM28......ooff....but their Extreme Rules 2 out of 3 falls match was everything that their match not at WM27 should had been. Highlighted both up and comers strengths perfectly, both guys stock rose due to this match. Why I'm so torn by Vince, because he's proven time and time again that he was good at his job....when he cared.

Rowan vs The Rock would have been on here if "The Great One" hadn't spent the next however 3 years hiding from Big Red before returning to help Becky against Corbin on Smackdown. To this day, Rocky fears Rowan!

Not included in the list because of rules, but backlash 2007 fatal 4 way match HBK-Cena-Orton-Edge and Edge-Cena Backlash 2009, some of my favorites “rematches” ❤

No Ronda rousey fan here at all, I pride myself on being unbias, Ronda vs Charlotte WM 38 was pretty solid the problem is the crowd hated both of them. To call the Backlash match quite decent is an understatemate the crowd started out the same way, but it was so good by the end crowd started cheering Ronda.
