They should be designed to do this - though some these days are simply made in the shape of a claw hammer - whereas the original makers figured all the geometry out.

No. 2 and No. 4... put a flat block of wood under the hammer and you won't mar the finish surface... I drilled a small hole at the bottom of my hammer handle, inserted a small round magnet with epoxy glue. If I drop a nail I use the magnet to pick it up. Easier getting the nail off the magnet than the floor...

Try pulling those sideways nails between obstacles. Always slide another object, under to raise the head...(lol raise the head) to pull stuck nails with less effort.

My dad was a chippie and he drilled a hole in the end of the hammer handle and packed it with grease. Dip the nail into the grease before driving it if you're working with hard wood. Usually when doing formwork, because he'd use a lot of mongrel scrap to form up with.

Hi instead of bending the nail to pull it out, put a block of wood between the wood and the hammer, this results in a lot less effort.

In the nail extraction scene ,put a block of under the hammer, then extract the nails without bending them so you can use them again ang again ,saves on nails or having to straighten the nails and less chance of hitting your fingers.

this should be called “hipster hammer hacks” for those who like to secure their Lincoln Log Cabins with more than just Elmer’s glue... Bill Lopez UBC Boston local 339 I’d also recommend... looking up tool belt, hammer loop (“vans edition” for twerps that don’t really skateboard for that better accessory look), cats paw maybe ( not an actual cat’s paw for the concerned vegans out there), even the smallest belt to hold your “picture frame nails”, oh... and just leaving the nail “alone!” once it’s banged down. The only reason it should be striked down is if someone is going to step on it, not scratch their hand. Just pull the damn thing. Let’s hope this person saves lives by not making a hacks vid for a chop or circular saw.
