    The Kroger, or any of the sub-brands, credit card gets 5x back on mobile wallet purchases up to 3k a year which could make it a catch-all card for this setup. You do need at least 2500points or $25 to redeem for a gift card and I think the points can expire but with Mobile wallet being such a broad category it's very interesting.

    Great info RJ, Thinking of getting the Citi Custom Cash at 5% will work great for my restaurant taste and with no AF. You can't beat that every month!

    Thank you sir. I'm a big fan of the custom cash. I believe Citi has a $300 offer if you apply in branch. Don't have any around me but if you're close to one I'd go with that offer.

    @@RJFinancial So my take on the Citi Custom Cash with a $500 max limit on any one category. It seems like no matter how large the credit line you get with that card - the best usage is capped off at $500 so the 1x after is not as intriguing...Start to pull out the Premier card after you hit the $500 on the Custom Cash, that way you at least get 3X going forward. Wish there was a card where if they did a "cap" then it goes down to maybe 4x and then caps off then goes to 3x etc etc...That would be a card I would be interested in. I wonder if banks will come up with such type of card in the future?

    Forgot to mention i am not a big fan of 5% “rotating” categories. Too much work trying to figure out which card does what in each quarter.

  • @RJFinancial

    @@steveg8998 you are correct. That's the trap of this card; use like normal and Citi will auto select the 5x category based on spend. Sounds easy but they want you to forget the Double Cash exists. So custom cash is card where i'd do a bit of preplanning each much to focus on a category then use Double Cash for everything else or another card

    Considering it myself as well once I'm over 5/24 again. With the amount of things you can buy from Amazon I don't think it'd be that hard. If you do make BofA platinum honors can also have multiple cash rewards cards to help.

    I like it! Will for sure try some parts of it. Any ideas on how to take advantage of this strategy to pay insurance. I assume the visa reload path? I don't know of any cards that give 5x back on insurance payments. Do you?

  • @RJFinancial

    @RJFinancial

    Thats a tough one. State Farm has a US Bank issued card that will give 3x on State Farm insurance. That could also be an expense you use to hit signup bonuses on new cards. Home/Auto isn't cheap so when it comes due lineup a new card application. That's a roundabout way to get 5x+

    Between the chase ink and chase flex. Which would u choose and why 🤔. Last time I said how I felt. The chase flex is still a credit card I want 💯. Is US Bank hard 2 get approved for 🤔. I found out this morning bank of america has an unlimited 1.5% cash 💸 back credit card 💯

  • @VincentPascual

    If you can spend enough to get the bonus on the Ink Cash, go for it. You’ll get 5% on the same categories year round (no rotating like the Freedom Flex or Discover It). And it won’t add to your 5/24.

  • @RJFinancial

    @RJFinancial

    3 жыл бұрын

    The answer is both over time lol. If I had to pick one right now I'd look at spending habits. Currently the Flex has the 5x on groceries up to 12k in spend for the first year + $200 for spending $500 I think. That's $800 in total. If you frequent grocery stores, maybe a family man that wouldn't be hard to do. Case for the Ink Cash is a lot of spend quickly $7500 for 75k UR points but as Vincent points out the categories are set and they are categories that Chase does not cover in their personal lineup. Also won't hurt 5/24 as Vince also points out. BofA card is targeted to existing customers now. It will be offered publicly at some point (full vid coming) I would only prioritize this card if you're BofA platinum honors, then its 2.62x back on all purchases. US Bank can be picky on applications. I'd still take either of the Chase cards above before worrying about US Bank. Altitude Go is probably their best card.

  • @RJFinancial

    @RJFinancial

    3 жыл бұрын

    Man, you must have missed my vid where I open taking an axe to the platinum... I'll give you the short answer then link the two vids... I think it sucks but it sucks on purpose. The changes are good for amex cause they're all passthrough costs to vendors yet allows amex to charge more. I'd need more multiplies to be happy about it. The credits themselves aren't bad minus Equinox but it just feels like an attempt to shake loose unprofitable accounts... like myself. Also this now give Chaser permission to raise their fee in the future as well. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKOmqJiCe7Sco9o.html - this is my retrospective vid kzread.info/dash/bejne/n32Fm5tpktLefrw.html - this is the initial reactions

    If you buy everything on line or stick to the rotating 5X, it's possible. Best I can get is a bit over 4%. The killer is dining, but gift cards can bail you out. If you factor in bonuses and are aggressive every year, it's not hard.
