From another homeschool mom- Bless *you* for your work, too! My amazing and tenacious aunt is a 2nd grade teacher at a title 1 school and she inspires me everyday. She holds such love for her schoolchildren, many who don’t receive that love anywhere else. It takes a special heart to do what you do.

I’m so happy you can recognize that as a teacher yourself. I’ve been told and reminded and questioned (by my own family) if I’m even qualified to be a teacher to my own Littles. They think I need to have a teaching degree to do so. (I have a degree in criminal justice). Is there any good points you could give me that I can tell them why I don’t need to be a teacher to teach/rear my own littles? Either way blessings to you and your future babies 🙏🏾💕

I am a fellow homeschooling mama. This is our 3rd year and I have 2 boys ages 6 & 7 years old! Our day looks a bit different from yours. We slowly start our day with lots of cuddles and snuggles and talking. We don’t start school until after 9. We use Ambleside Online and The Good and the Beautiful. Even with those 2 curriculums (and all the art projects, nature study, and Bible study’s we do together) we complete everything in 2 hours. We spend the rest of our days doing whatever we want, sometimes that’s practicing taekwondo, sometimes it’s running errands, sometimes play dates at the park! I would like to start my morning like you with Bible and workout and to start cooking more made from scratch meals. I feel blessed doing what I am doing right now as it is. I look forward to my days, I sleep well, and my children (while they are more rambunctious than yours are) are well behaved and loved!

I love this comment because it reminds me that all families are unique. For the longest of time, I wanted to copy and paste Jady's homeschool into ours with my boys, but my family sounds a lot like what you described yours to be - full of life! (Not that Jady's isn't, it's just a different family with different routines.) Blessings to you and yours!

@@simplycarla08 thank you and I absolutely understand what you mean! I love Jady’s videos and I believe she has a wealth of knowledge to share. But I occasionally feel like I am not doing enough or perhaps I have a fear of missing out when I watch her videos and realize my routine is different, or my children are using different curriculums, or different hobbies, etc. But the fact is that our families are different! And God didn’t make us to be cookie cutter versions of one family. God has given us a rich life that is different than Jady’s. I love watching to see what tidbits I can add to my day, or just for encouragement as a fellow Christian homeschooler. But we can only use her videos for inspiration when finding our own family routines. Our routines will grow and change with us. ❤️

I grew up homeschooled and I have to say even if you don't teach your kids hardly anything, they'll still have better chances of becoming well-rounded mature adults than public schoolers. You're with them all day, showing them that you care about them and they're loved. And they're not being indoctrinated by government schooling.

  • @annewithane7876

Just focus on the basics- reading, writing, arithmetic, and religion/morals. Try to lump multiple subjects together (reading can overlap with any other subject, math can overlap with practical life skills like cooking or grocery shopping..). If you get tired or don't have time, there's no shame in using audio books or online resources like khan academy.

When my husband and his sister were homeschooled and his mom took them with her to go shopping, she would ask them to guess at what the total cost would be including tax. Whichever one of them was closest would get a treat 😄 And to this day, he can tell exactly what the bill will be without a calculator or paper. He's the best at finding deals because he knows what the prices are at different stores and it's saved us a LOT of money. So even something so simple, that didn't even come from a curriculum, can make a big difference in the future

@annewithane7876 thanks Anne. Very encouraging. Sometimes I worry I'm not teaching my kids enough or they'll be behind their peers because I let them play a lot, I don't believe in bogging them down with too much learning but when it comes to life skills I'm confident in what I've taught them. Please tell me more about your homeschooling experience and how you turned out. BTW I'm in Kenya, homeschooling is still not common here.

Loved this so much! This really motivates me. Both of my kids are enrolled in a private Christian school since prek. However, this year they hired a teacher last minute who is not Christian and its not being fair with the kids, such as not letting them go to the bathroom, grading them unfairly for minimal things, taking minutes off his recess just for asking questions about the classwork, taking 15 minutes off recess to the whole class because of 2 kids who often miss behave so the whole class pays for it. Someone who is clearly not prepared to teach younger kids (my oldest one is in 2nd grade now). My oldest has been an honor student for 2 years now, and he has always loved his school until now. He complains about the teacher every day as well as other kids. Many parents (who also have similar concerns) and I, have tried to reach out to the school supervisor but because she already has a contract with the teacher, she’s been ignoring the situation. I’m now considering homeschooling or changing them to a different Christian school, but homeschooling has been on my mind lately. Thank you for this video! God bless

This just blows my mind haha I can't get my 3 year old to even sit down for dinner, let alone table time and doing individual work. You make it all look so easy. Your kids aren't running around and Goin crazy every morning. I'd love to have my house like yours.

Why do the older girls have to start studying without even eating breakfast? And the are my heroes being able to concentrate while you cook, with all the noises and movements. Being able to homeschool is definitely a blessing.
