I have them taped off. When the resin is done, I peel off what I can and use a utility knife to pop the edges off.

I set them on cups to dry making sure they are level. I wait two weeks, clean off the silicone and apply 2 coats of heat resistant resin/epoxy. I have videos on my channel in the playlist of step by step instructions.

@@ChristinaWelch Nope, the paints were already mixed at the beginning of the video so I wasn't aware of the Floetrol in there. I usually use a mix of polycrylic and glue but next time I'll try using Floetrol instead. Thank you for the suggestion, I will check that out.

Just some “kindly” advice. A bit too much of the last color, black I think it was. It sort of took over. Plus on a palette as small as a coaster, I never use a blower, mouth blowing gives you better control. Definitely not criticizing your work as I know everyone has their own niche.

this was so long ago when blooms first came around. I have mastered the technique since this video. Thank you for your tips, but I am unable to mouth blow. I use a mini leaf blower now on coasters. Check out some of my more recent videos. You may find some useful tips.

@@ChristinaWelch I commented before noticing it was a 3 yr old video, sorry! Yes things have come a long way since then. I love the technique, I watch so many vids to learn as I’ve just started my painting journey at age 68.
