5043, Earl of Mount Edgcumbe in full cry on the final Shakespeare Express of 2023

Фильм және анимация

Me and ‪@crunchynutsteamfilms5043‬ started the day at Wilmcote after almost making it to Stratford Parkway for the first run of the day. We see it crest the top of the 1 in 75 incline and power through the station. Our next location is a great foot crossing near The Lakes which allows you to film the trains pass by at track level making for an interesting shot. The next location was Bentley Heath crossing where she absolutely flys through, showering us both in ash. Then finally, we made it to Moor Street where we met ‪@harnettyrailways‬, ‪@blackcountrysteamvideos8021‬ and ‪@LiamsLocos‬ to see it first run around, and then come through the station wrong line ecs. Thanks for everyone who joined me for the great day and thanks for watching,
Luke

Phwoar glad drivers still don't mind pushing the speed limits a bit. It's more fun that way!

Nice video Luke mate very rare for the steam train or any train to go pass P2 London bound. Nice whistles as well.

The shot at Bentley was an every day sight for me. I lived ten minutes away up hill on Mill Lane. Was six tracks wide back in the day. Up and down main, as now. Up and down relief to the right, and either side was a goods loop. There also a siding into a field on the right where houses now are. It was built by the ministry of food and had a warehouse for six box vans to supply Dorridge, Bentley Heath and Knowle during WWII. The crossing gates were replaced by the barriers about '75ish I think the signal box was taken out late 90s or early 2000s.

The fact that we've gone from 6 tracks down to 2 shows just how great the railways used to be. Must have been such a sight to see. It still provides great views today though especially when things have to power out of the goods loops. Thanks for commenting!
