$500 2 day kitchen reno
Ойын-сауық
As you know we bought this property knowing that the house wasn't in the best shape, knowing we would repurpose it eventually but until then we need to have somewhere safe and comfortable for us to live until we are ready to build a new home in its place.
And so I decided I really need to get the kitchen cleaned up at least and I'm so grateful we spent the time to do so.
We spent $500 on materials and reused a bunch of cabinets so it really wasn't that much of an investment for my mental health. 😂 plus, we'll reuse what we've got again for something else. win, win.

fill holes like that with stainless steel wool they can't chew through it and will give up, you might need to replace it once every few years
Impressive- you guys can do anything xxx
Great job guys - looks great !
Gee, we are so sorry that some viewers prefer the fishing. We just love watching your videos of you both sharing your lives. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Graham and Kath in Frederickton.
Amazing what a coat of white paint does to a place! Looks very clean and tidy now, no need for doors, natural timber benchtops look great. Will you frame some of your snake skins, they'd be an interesting conversation starter.
You two are a marvel with D.I.Y. I don't think I could do that. Though maybe if I had an old place like that I could because in that situation a few imperfections wouldn't look out of place.
Great work. Now go fishin’! 😎😎👍🏼👍🏼
It’s so good watch your authenticity and your “can do “ attitude is so refreshing.. 🤞things are going smoothly for you both..✨🍃🌷🍃✨
So amazing to bump into you guys at hungry jacks, I hope you didn’t mind me saying a quick hello, while you where enjoying time away from home, ( I would hate to invade your privacy) love your content😊

Everyone is welcome to say hi. We love meeting viewers.
Great simple fixes, I know you're planning to knock down this house but the content you've been showing is great for people who are on budget to see how to make spaces liveable while you save up for nicer stuff, thanks 😊
Just wanted to respond to your short. I love fishing, I love your boat video and I love watching the change in your life from moving. I'm loving all of it.
Good job Brooke. & Dennis !
Love the little homely touches as well as the practical approach!
Hey B&D!! Just a quick idea, when we used to do kitchens way, way up north, mould was an issue. One of the things we would do is forget the doors, and then run the old style chrome towel rail under the front lip of the bench top and the ladies would hang curtains ( the old style red or blue checked sear sucker) on curtain rings to help ventilate and keep all the pots and pans etc out of view. Just a thought. Don’t wear out Dennis, and keep the beer up to him. Cheers guys,
Love how well you and Dennis work together ❤ and can't wait to see the progress of your new home being built. I truly wish you both well in this new adventure and time of your life, all the best to you both 😊
The temp kitchen looking good will do for the time being
Looks great

I watch in Sydney builders knock down good old homes to throw up low quality (Expensive) duplexs....Rather have a home like yours anyday....Love your can do attitude.....Regards Fibro Bankstowner.
Hi Brooke, and Mr Brooke (Dennis?) I just saw your short video apologising for not enough fishing, and well, if anyone's complaining tell em to go and get ..... a life. Or tell em to get f@#d, either/or. We understand that you've got other things on your plate at the moment, and thanks for inviting us to join that journey, it promises to be a great ride :)
I just find this shit so satisfying - thanks Brook :)

$500 is Verry cheap and looking beautiful, renovation my kitchen needed $1500 and not nice 😔
Great👌👌
Poly urathane isnt the greatest cover for bench tops , especially around sinks and vanities . Soap and detergent will eat through it. Best thing for these areas is resin , not regular fiberglass resin, but resin especially designed for this purpose. Cabots etc have this product. One coat is equal to about 50 coats of lacquer, self levels and looks like glass.I used it on the timber vanity top and spa surround, about 10 years ago and it still looks as good as the day I painted it. We have a family of 5 , it get a lot of use.
w\Who remembers this as a fishing channel?

Hi Horace. Unfortunately I don't fish every day, if you haven't noticed I recently up rooted my whole life and moved somewhere where I'm finding my feet again. Yes, I'm still fishing but I haven't had much of a chance since we moved and I want to continue making content in-between get my life back together.
Couldn’t see anything wrong with the old kitchen Brooke, people want everything these days, bone dry mouse carcasses weren’t hurting anyone, probably didn’t even smell.. nah gotta have a clean functioning kitchen to live a normal sane life. Doing it yourself probably saved 10k..
huge difference for a little money and a bucket full of elbow grease! come help me do mine next...
