I wouldn't go as far as saying boxings not effective in a street fight. I am pretty sure someone with boxing skills like Gamboa would be able to defend themselves in a street fight in most circumstances. And to be honest I wouldn't want to be on the floor in a street fight because if the dude has a friend around the corner he could simply stamp on your head! Best to be on your feet unless you know hes alone and even then it could be dangerous with glass and all kinds of shit on the street.
