5 Ways To Be Less SHY & More CONFIDENT!
Ойын-сауық
I used to suffer from shyness outside of family. It's probably hard for you to believe if you've only known me for the last 10 years or so - but I didn't have much confidence growing up. These tips have helped me immensely over the years - I hope they can help you too.
If you believe that we become the things we consistently practice, then.. the reason you are shy is because you've practiced being shy. What if confidence just took practice?

Also a key was as people start seeing you as confident you can shift your own sense of confidence. By practicing being confident even when he was shy people started noticing & feeding that back to him ✅

Love you bro
I hate the whole "Fake it until you make it" thing. It feels like lying. It feels disingenuous. But *practicing* confidence... rather than "faking it" ... I can get on board with that. That's not a lie. That's just working on the skill.

I think what he means more is that that practice will give u the push u will need. Because personally i have done presentation over presentation over the years and it has not worked. And i agree that maybe if i would only focus now on the other person's brain, on how what im gonna transmit will help them, instead of me, it can do the trick. It's not like one will fake it the rest of their lives, it's just the beginning facade that will portray whom u will become with this practice:) At the end of the day it depends how u wanna see it, like any other life topic, but in my opinion i think it's great advice:)

I mean, “fake it until you make it” can do wonders too; like going to sleep, “being happy” (people say that smiling can trick/lie your brain into thinking that you’re actually happy), seeing new things from a new perspective (you can only see a different point of view if you pretend to believe in it for a while I guess), etc. It depends on what you’re using it for, but overall I think it's a powerful tool to begin something wonderful

What I've taken away from the "fake it to you make it" slogan, is that just jumping in and doing the work is a far better teacher than any amount of school will ever give you. They say that as a way to get people to stop over thinking and just do the thing in order to get better at it, this, "making it".

The problem is that we underestimate our capabilities and come to feel deceived that we can't do this or that. Maybe at the beginning it feels strange to 'fake it' confidence (or whatever else), but eventually you'll achieve that goal.
The moment we shift our attention from "ME" to outside world and on external environment, this shyness and awkward feeling goes away. Worked for me instantly

I had been thinking about this quite recently too. The more self-conscious I am at a moment, the more shy/awkward I get. Once I have a stronger sense of self/purpose/direction, the awkwardness/self-consciousness dies down.

How exactly do you shift your focus on to the external environment? Do you ask yourself questions about the other person(s)? If so, what are they?

Doesn't have to be negative judgements...maybe think curiosity instead of judgement?

I like this quote from you towards the end of this video 'don't be so attached to who you are right now in the present that you don't give the future version of you a chance'. Thanks, Vinh
Dude, you're one of the only guys I can sit and watch deliver this type of content. You stand out from some of the other folks in my algorythm.

Thanks for making the message so clear both from your personal experiences and great video editing.
I just came across this video and I was mind-blown by the way you share your stories and give advice on being more confident. It is surprisingly interesting and helpful!!!
My confidence to communicate is completely rejuvenated. Thanks Vinh
Vinh, you are the best mentor in speaking that I have found. I’m really grateful for happening to have you here in KZread. I’ve thinking myself about how shy I was and how I really wanted to get out of this shyness barrier that I created myself. This is the time. You are such a role model, Vinh! I started to see some improvement of myself in my own confidence speaking with people and I will put 200% more effort to be who I want to be in the future!
This is the content I am yearning for!!! Honestly, my confidence needs more confidence. Thank you for this Vinh.
I just love listening to you. You're The definition of "practicing what you preach" I wish I could physically be in that class.
sooooo grateful for bumping into your videos(actually it was the youtube ad i saw brought me here eventually), answered soooo many questions that I've been having for such a long time. Keep it up Vinh!
You don't know how much you helped me through this video. I needed this. thank you so much

You're absolutely inspiring Vinh!!! I've save this one as one of my favorite videos about confidence in communication !!!
wow. ive had so much fun watching your videos and this is one oof the best if i had to say. thank you so much for making this video...its like youre making this solely focusing on my situation. loving it🥰
Amazing video Vinh! The first part is really useful for introverts and teenagers (I used to be that way) when I feel my introvert come out sometimes and it makes me seem like I have two different personalities. Sometimes I do t want to have small talk sometimes I do. All depending on my emotions that day and I’m working on that. As a content creator, I would love some of the ways your thought process goes when presenting your content.
This is amazing! I am painfully shy but I have a lot to say. This guy's style is amazing! He seems like it has everything together, I am so impressed. Great talk!
This is excellent. It's simple, makes sense and implementable. I was actually randomly speaking along with the video and noticed a big difference implementing each piece of advice he gave. Now I suppose it's about practicing and burning this into your automated system! Great video dude 👍
I remember my first public speaking class in first semester in college back in 2019 i was like "Shit here we go again" even tho i was pretty sociable i had stage fright and i was so shy to talk infront of a CROWD of classmates and a teacher who is 100% confident in when it comes to speaking to a crowd. what i thought was i will pretend that i am alone in the classroom and just rehearsing my prepared speech, and oh boy i nailed that presentation and class mates started always putting me in group debates when teachers ask for a debate i was the person, cuz they said "i inspire confidence" just hearing those words made me more confident in speaking to crowds. Your thought process is perfect for ppl who are shy and want to become more confident in their speaking/communication skills
You’re amazing thank you so much! I’m going to practice it now 😄
Laughing my ass out!! 😂😂 I love you man
YOU ARE GREAT sir , thanks for sharing your own journey ... it helps a lot and secondly , I appreciate you trying to make the video as engaging as possible :) .

Absolute Genius... I've actually started practicing this on Microsoft Teams Calls and in presentations to our senior leaders... Skills that you can't study or practice through the traditional school system...
Your humility is inspiring
This video is so perfect. You saved me Vinh!
Thank you so much for your content. Learned alot from you Vinh!❤😊
Thanks a lot Vinh, you can't imagine how you're helping people around the world... And one thing i want to say that how much energy does it take to speak like that... To be more animated.
All the advice are practically actionable without any second thought.... 👌
Great work ! Thanks for your inspirational videos.
I have never left a comment before for anyone! But I love you and love your energy. I can really connect with you! Wish I had your energy and confidence. LOL! Tons of practice I'm sure!
I've suffered from over shyness and lack of confidence, all my life. I've got through life by using my practical skills. Ive never been able to contribute within meetings or say what i really want to say. It makes me ill thinking about an upcoming meeting or a seminar. I've tried everything. My previous Employer (were i worked for 30 year) sent me on a training course many years ago to improve my communication skills, All it was back then, was me, standing on an empty stage in a theatre with no audience, and reading from a script. I've learnt more from watching a few of your videos on how to be more confident and less shy. However Its the doing it in public I cant overcome. I hope after watching more of your videos it helps me overcome my fears. Many Thanks
Thank you for these very helpful tips.
Thank you so much for this video. Implementing the tips you gave has helped me beat shyness and i'm now very confident
Really helpful video. Thanks Vinh.
Absolute fantastic content, bro. That is exactly what I want to learn and what I were praying for. I really want to save the freeking world, I simply have to and I'm going to, and I do it by replacing concrete (most devastating for the environment) with geopolymer, the material because of which buildings like the Colosseum and Pantheon stands there since thousands of years.
Thanks so much for this video. I agree with your points being a shy person myself. May God help me in this journey as I practice being more confident.
Really great advices and insights. Thank you!
I just want thank you for this inspirational and educative video, i got some good take away that I will apply in my life from now on.

Thanks, brother for all the information you are sharing with us, all this information is beneficial and slowly adopting some of your tips in my lifestyle and I am very positive about reaching a better version of myself. :)
Wow, thank you so much for This Video. I learned in one day so much more about talking and how to get into it to feel and be more confident. And your tip to Film how I am speaking was very helpful for me.
My problem with implementing all of this is that I am unable to handle the amount of social pressure I feel after expressing myself as an outgoing person. Like putting on makeup, I feel that I've raised the standard for myself when I behave confidently, and people expect for me to show up with a full face of makeup and a confident personality all the time. I simply can't maintain it all of the time, because it requires too much energy. I'm too introverted to implement these tips, since people expect me to act this way and it is incredibly draining to do so.

@@marciavox8105 oh yeah. The pressure is real. I'm still working on gettin rid of my social anxiety though.
