To be fair, to be the exact opposite, the name could be “Ares’ Wrath” or something along the lines Ares being the nemesis of Athena and the god of war, having more of a supper aggressive nature, while Athena is also the goddess of war, but a little bit more tactical. This could set up for both factions clashing into each other, which could spice up both Athena’s and Reaper’s factions in the area of pvp, making Athena’s faction not only the grinders of the sea, but becoming also a pvp cantered faction which will make most pirate legends which show off and believe to be the gods of the sea either drop down into the other factions or make them have the need to be good at pvp, returning Athena’s status to not be just a title that you spend too much time in this game farming. Obviously this will be a total reformation of what Athena’s faction missions are about adding new adventures and activities than just being a reboot of the main faction’s missions but longer, while leaving old players their respective glory, this will make grinding Athena much harder for new players with the new threat and leave only the “worthy” (either the ones good at pvp or/and the ones that know how to avoid trouble) this title, and of course a counterpart in Ares’ faction, where they will be quite similar but with a much more aggressive approach in their normal missions making them not just be Reapers on steroids, but an interesting faction that is the opposite of Athena’s This could also be an opportunity to add a grand scale pirate war between both factions

As much as I would love more trading companies I’d much rather a hunters call rework

i agree on that, i especially took heart to the hunters call voyage event, it made a good way to calm people down., the emissary however cant be added due to it allowing money to be made too easily, it would mean u get 1.75k - 2.25k for each splashtail. but i see what u mean

Out of all of these I think twisted knife sounds most interesting. Alliances with no incentive to betray sounds like fun as well as the ability for reapers to find bigger targets and allow people to hunt ships. I think best way the bounty one would work would be to alert the crew being targeted that they are a potential target but not tell them if/when a ship is coming for them and not mark them on the map. I also think it'd work best if the exact location of the hunted ship wasn't known, like the ship doing the hunting gets a paper that updates every like 10 minutes that says things like "last seen by Kraken's Fall" or "recently spotted sailing the Northern Shores of Plenty." Also definitely Bilge Rats need an update but the time limited cosmetics shouldn't come back.

Although I love these something I want is something equivalent to Davey Jones in the Game. 1 Ghost/Underwater ship that randomly attacks players to take them down to the depths of the locker.

I think the update I'd like best would be underwater/aquatic themed, ideally with new creatures such as manta rays, jellyfish, turtles, whales etc. Also I'd love sunken regions and quests to do in them, along with new sea monsters to defeat potentially for the hunters call.

For the next update, I would want the Twisted Knife faction. This would add much needed diversity to the game, while making PvP more enjoyable. The idea of hiring another crew to protect you is also a great idea which can help encourage new players to keep playing. Instead of the faction representative being inside the tavern, they could be lurking around the back or side of the tavern, giving a more secretive/mysterious feel for the faction. The cosmetic opportunity for this faction is also brilliant, with the more neutral and muted colour schemes possible. FusionDisnep257

I really love the Twisted Knife faction. I always help new players and really like to fight. But the problem with that is that I don't think anybody would use it. The usefulness of this faction depends on how many players are on the server, and how many of them want to fight. The idea is great, but the game is not ready for it. But I would really like to see more PVP based factions.

We need a rework to pirate legend and the end game. If they fix that then the rest of what comes next is quality of life

I know this is going to be a very popular answer but I really want a captaincy update with a few bonus features as well. Here’s what I’m thinking. A kind of cave like area where you can hide your ship or something (not in game it’s like the sea of the damned so you can’t just run away with loot or anything) and you can swap ship types there, keeping your resources but not emissary level and then you come out in a fresh server (to avoid a situation where 2 solo sloopers are fighting and one wins and gets all the loot but the other guy gets mad and swaps to a galleon with his friends and goes and kills the other sloop or something like that) a way to name your ship, add harpoon colors, railing customizations, add barnacles on ship hull, and all that cool stuff. You can challenge crew mates to a fight in your pirate cave area. Adding more ship types so I can play with all my friends, maybe a kind of fishing boat or something where there’s more than one stove and cool nets on it. Ropes that you can swing on from ship to ship. More rowboat types (cannon ones, ones with small sails, etc). This game is really great and I hope we can get some more great updates in the future. Some bug fixes wouldn’t hurt either (HIT REG) As well as removing sirens from arena or at least reducing the spawn rate. I would hope they would add more tall tales so we can continue the story with the Capt’n and maybe learn a bit more about the ancients and flameheart’s origin story. I don’t know how this would relate to captaincy but these are just some ideas for other updates. Gamer tag: MrchntOdeath

I love that final idea of using screenshots to create painting in your ship. In fact, being able to customize the interior decorations on our ships would be absolutely incredible. Not counting the supply barrels btw.

I do love the idea of the twisted knife. The alliance system as it is (when done smartly) basically let’s you get free gold from a crew even if you’re on the other side of the map the idea of a convoy system where one ship protects another would absolutely be loved by people who love to teach but hate having to effectively be a man down while doing so.

I had an idea about some sort of anti-Reaper faction emissary, that would give huge amounts of gold from stolen loot from Reapers, as well as their flag (more than the bonuses the Reapers themselves would give in the same scenario).

Hunters Call update idea: While running the HC emissary flag, you have a higher chance of getting meglodons and Krakens. You get HC rep for killing them, or completing a quest

I actually LOVE the idea with the “legends of the flame“ section😍

The Chroniclers is probably my favorite of these ideas... I mean, there's a reason I use the "Chronicler of Legend" title. I loved completing the Legend of the Sea commendations, and being able to make paintings would be fantastic!

I love the idea of the twisted knife faction although I think instead of voyage completions it should be if the escorted ship sells loot then the twisted knife gets rep and gold as players don’t finish voyages due to them being long most of the time I think making it so twisted knife can’t enter alliances to stop alliance servers from abusing this and the escorted ship also can’t be in a alliance while selling or being escorted would be a better balance. I also really like the bounty idea but they should have it so the twisted knife get gold and small rep if the bounty leaves to stop people just leaving along with this the bounty can’t put down tall tale to discourage them portal hoping or running to shores of gold. Sorry for the paragraph I just can’t say enough on how much I like this idea.

An idea for a bounty hunter faction I have is a faction where the voyages you get are bounty’s players would put on other players and the representative of the faction will be found near the back of the tavern but what will make it different for the reaper’s bones is that no matter your rank you can see players but only your target and to confirm your kill you need to sell the rep the bounty player’s cutlass or flintlock and their theme will be mostly pirate themed camouflage or black and dark grey clothing and a curse for them would probably act like a kill counter that the more pvp kills you get, the darker and more dim glowing skulls will appear on your character

i really want something to do with bounties just like the twisted knifed except that its like a passive thing where there is no emissary for it and when you spawn into a game there will be a bounty board of a maximum of 3 posters of 3 crews that have caused the most chaos in that server e.g killing player, ships you get the point and on the poster will be the last known region the crew has been in making it more easier to find them and with this being an update if the players are running you can now shot the sails with your cannons or guns to rip holes in the sail to slow them down and you can make bigger holes depending on the weapon your using and when you sink the crew a collection of skulls from the different crew members of the ship can be picked up and they will sell at a reasonable price at the npc at the bounty board at any outpost but you might think that oh if i just rip they're sails to shreds then i can just catch them easily but that crew can repair those sails but take some time and can make you venerable to being shot by the other ship with an eye of reach so its more i a risk and reward for repairing the sails and nerfs those reaper runners...... god that was a lot of typing GT:FaZe koosh69#962

I love all of these ideas, especially the Twisted Knife faction I’d personally enjoy protecting people and being protected if I needed to be.

With The Twisted Knife I would like as if there are voyages for escort when a player puts down an escort request and the player who accepts it would get a lot of gold and doubloons another voyage could be destroying a ship that just sunk another ship and again you’d get a lot of gold. They could also add some way to foil the reaper by maybe destroying supplies on another island which would be guarded by reaper ghosts. This would give you around the same gold as a lost shipment voyage but there’s a time limit after doing it so you can’t farm them really easily. Rep would be gained by successfully helping another player with their escort voyage. Rep could also be gained by selling reaper emissary flags which would give a lot.

I would really like to see an update where they add some new islands down where the map was opened up for A Pirate's Life. Maybe they could add a division of Grand Maritime Union that had small enough ships to enter the Sea of Thieves and take over one of these islands. Maybe it could be a pretty big one similar to the town from Captains of the Damned, except that it is more of a hub for new events exclusive to that area. There could be shops that sell items exclusive to that island so it would encourage players to visit it, similar to Umbra. They could also have a ship yard where you can store different cosmetic sets that people come up with. You could access them at any outpost, but you'd have to at least visit the island first and maybe complete a small tall tale or voyage to unlock the ability to do so. I just think it'd be really cool to have a big town where you could periodically see characters from the game and maybe even introduce new Tall Tales or a new enemy type to the Sea of Thieves. Maybe ships similar to the skeleton ships could roam that area and you could sink them to get some rarer Merchant Alliance loot. Gamertag: CaptainOSO9315

on certain days, I think I'd have a lot of fun with something based around the canvas idea

i thought of like skeletons and phantoms can raid you ship when you in the sea like figting you on you ship. so you got a special skull that gives you much gold but from then skelletons will randomly appear on your ship and fight youor steal the skull.

Wow such a good "idea" vid I really like the four last companies idea but I think the first one is too order of souls like I have an idea for a voyage for the sirens imagine being tasked by the merfolk to follow the tracks of ancient ships to seek parts of their forgotten song mixing a bit of the merchant special voyage and the gold hoarder vault voyage just an idea tho good vid as always!

another thing the twisted knives could do is give you merchant hunts where you go and hunt down don board able npc merchant ship (similar to skelly) and you dont get loot just money for sinking them, it would also explain some of the merchant ship wreck voyages

It would be cool to see a Grand Maritime Union faction. You could be tasked with taking down pirates for a steady income, however any loot you try to sell to other factions while flying the Union's flag will be near worthless because you are a traitor to pirate kind

I have an idea, i speculated this to be the pirate's life tall tale structure, when the first trailers dropped. I didnt know it would only be for that. So my idea: Memories of the Damned. The Castaway would give you a bounty for a skeleton. You would have to bring back the skull, than the Castaway would harvest the memories of that captain. We would travel to the sea of the Damned. And would have to relive the memories. But, take something from there, maybe treasure. Thiese voyages would be dungeons, and all player would be notified by a big beacon on the sky, that te voyage is happening. So they would be able to also go after the voyager crew. Or wait at the portal. Possible the portals would defend themselfs from campers. They would send out gostships and boarding phantoms. You would be able to take different dungeon voyages. With different tasks in the inside. This would greatly differ from the regular companies voyages, being much more expensive. You would earn reputation and emissary levels. And eventually a phantom curse of course. This is my idea, hope you like it.

Myself and others would agree that captaincy is at the top of the list with new adds to the game. The obvious ship skin saving as well as pirate costume saving, because sometimes I can’t remember what I was wearing a moment ago. A rework of the captains quarters, make the default galleon bare. Voyage table and wooden char, shoddy bed, chandelier, no fancy decor. Plain. And have decor customization, but to have most of it be EARNED through your achievements and voyages. Make your ship have stories to tell. Like, a meg tooth, vials of kraken ink or have the lantern straight up change to the kraken lantern with a kraken eye. A framed painting that can be a screenshot. Make the wooden galleon model in the galleons captains quarters a mini version of your ship. Make it look personal And of COURSE, NAMING. YOUR. SHIP. We all do it, but I want people to see my ship and see her name on the plaque and the bow, or when at closer distances it will have a mini island card that says the name of the ship and the name of its “appointed Captain” if the player so chooses to have their name show. I want people to see my ship and know that “The Salty Pickle” is on the waves. It will really help with the whole “making a name for yourself” aspect at least in server. It would open a larger possibility of player recognition throughout the session. Like if a whole server was REALLY getting into role playing the part of pirates, seeing a ship and recognizing her from previous encounters. People already dominate servers and run them 24/7 for their cheap grinding, but imagine a server being used as an RP server, Like a dedicated server with regular players, like your favourite Gmod server, eventually you will run into the same people and make a name in crows of similar folk GT: CaptainFrank739

I'm loving the expansion of the edge of the map before the shroud kicks in and the large empty sea to the south west of the whole map. Just finished playing with a friend last night where we went out into the big open ocean area, fighting the meg a couple times, fishing and finding wrecks. But surrounded by empty ocean with pretty much no land in sight was awesome. I really hope they don't clutter it up again...

Next update I want is more PL content, like cosmetic, ship customization(names) and even maybe a customizable Hideout of our own. That and maybe more story about Flameheart. Love your vids. Btw, GT is: Farendiil

For the next update I would then to add something not to much but I truly think it would be nice if they added a thing in the PL hideout a Duel you can do with your crew mates or other teams you can go against, like a tdm. They would range from 10 million coins - 25 mil these arenas that cost gold would be exclusive to fighting your own crew and would be certain maps because otherwise not many players would do it because it costs so much. So it will be free to play the duel arenas. However PL is a requirement so there’s more experienced players you go up against and so it adds something more important to being PL while there may be some arenas requiring commendations. Such as like a venomous arena where lots of snakes lurk thru the greenery to attack you, the requirements for this arena ask? You need to have Grade 5 for selling merchant snakes on time. And another example of this would be a Devil Roar arena with the requirements to buy it would be maxing out all devil roar commendations hence the arenas that cost gold to purchase. All arenas won’t be on current islands, instead new islands like a dome under a cliff where you duel or with like high mountains making it unable for you escape the arena. How it would work you ask? You start off with 1 pineapple and 4 coconuts or pomegranates. Each kill fills your health. (If a team duel for the arena then the Heath would be a 50% hp increase, and if your hp is maxed it would apply overheal for the amount as a megeladom or kraken over heal effect) it would be a race to 15 win for these duels. And you would have 1 blunder bomb and a firebomb (there will be a small pond for you to get water to extinguish yourself depending on the map, however for some duel arenas you may have a pre filled water bucket and instead of 1 fire and blunder there will be 2 fire bombs if there are no lakes or ponds). Some maps may consist of ashen wind skulls or tridents depending on maps, located more towards the center of the map. And ammo boxes will be either at center or 1 ammo box for both sides of the map. You would start with no ammo however so you would be forced to head to the center of the map to acquire ammunition for your weapon so you can’t hide. And barrels to supply you with food to heal your pirate and share with your fellow crew mates. There will be a separate reputation tab for winning duels and streaks. A 15 ws will grant Grade 5 ‘never losing champion of great duels’ and the title with the same thing as the commendation and the other commendation will be getting grade 5 ‘champion of great duels’ which is winning 500 duels. How would you choose your weapon load out you ask? There will be a separate pistol sniper set for you to chose or a ‘random weapon generator’ so you could start with random weapons. But other teams will have to both use the same weapon loudout with a box saying ‘Choose : both same weapons and another saying choose own weapon loudout’ if 2 votes go to the same thing then that will win but if it’s 1-1 vote a 50/50 coin (using the gold hoarders coin with red and gold on one side and the red being player 1 teams and the gold is player 2). I want more curses and an update to the three main trading companies (gold hoarders, order of souls and merchants) so that they each have a kind of headquarters around the map, like maybe a spire for the order, and possibly a nicer place to sell things, like a gold hoarder building. I'd really love if they added a new world event similar to Disney's pirates online where an outpost can be taken over. In pirates online, the main antagonist is The Jolly Roger, and when an attack on an outpost was coming, the moon would have the Jolly Roger's face on it. Tons of pirates would gather on the beach of the outpost to fight off the waves of undead to save the outpost of scared NPC's. In the end, a boss wave with the Jolly Roger himself would occur. Sea of thieves could easily pull this off with their own unique spin. Have the normal world event cloud over the outpost, the event would be similar to a stronghold, but in the addition of having waves of skeletons, skeleton lord's, and skeleton captains, it could also include ghosts, ghost captains, and possibly ocean crawlers. The enemies would come out of the water if possible, or just spawn at the beach. In the end, along with a difficult wave of enemies, having a buffed skeleton lord with either an increased size or unique aura similar to the ashen captains as indication of being the final boss. Not only would this be a very exciting world event, but also it would add more interaction between the NPC's and the undead. The NPC's would be in a scared emote hiding underneath shop counter's etc, and then returning to normal once the island has been saved. What would you think of this? Username: DSR x HOLLOW

I know they didn’t rate the game with gambling involved but I have always wanted to be able to play cards (poker, spades, hearts etc) as well as other games you could play with other pirates with maybe some kind of ranking and renown to go with it. As well as having some kind of duel aspect to the game

I think that along with a captaincy update a faction should come with it. Something like the Grand Maritime Union, they would offer a voyage to steal stockpiles of treasure from the trading companies. The good thing is you could be able to sell the stolen loot back to the trading companies but for less it could've been, seeing as it was stolen. Also they can send you on missions to steal what is known as Tome Of Company Secrets, a book that holds all the secrets of the certain factions. The only problem is that if you put up an emissary for the trading companies when reaching level 5 you can spot the Company Secrets on the map.

I like the mermaid idea and the bilge rat reboot, but I love the twisted knife faction you thought up and hope it gets added. That being said, I hope they upgrade PL voyages and Hunters call first

Personally I would love to see more dangers added to the sea, like whirlpools that if you get sucked in your ship suffers extremely heavy damage. Or alternately water spouts that push your ship around and also do damage. Just a few ideas that I think would be fun to see in the game (these new dangers might find use in new PvP engagements as well)

I've been playing since 2017 and would love to see a bounty system put in place. And have people put a higher price the more a crew sinks ships

I love the legend of the flame thing

I want the Empire that's mentioned in the lore as trying to get into the SoT to show up

I really love the chroniclers idea, but i think they would be better if they were more like challenges to unlock paintings that you can do as you play the game and do other quests

i like the idea of the twisted knife as a kind of royal navy faction or privateering faction

Love the twisted knife, i would personally level that up to max within a week

A idea I have is some sort of ancient people trading company where you do things like recover paintings or items made from the ancients unlocking the each ancient mask until level 75 where you unlock the priest it would be good friends Athena’s fortune in the merfolk

I would really like to see a few new tall tales where you can learn about the origins of the Sea of Thieves and how pirates came to the Sea of Thieves, maybe the sea of thieves is like the other end of the Bermuda triangle (or not include any real world stuff at all and just talk about the arrivals to the sea of thieves and the founding of trading companies and skeleton forts). Maybe you could travel to port cities during this like in the Captains of the Damned tall tale. the underwater exploration and the reaper athena are the other things i would say QuickComet54

I think there should be a new ice biome where the water slowly freezes you to death and the land is slippery there could be a new boss there like red Ruth but ice instead that breaths ice that freezes you and stuff like that

Legends of the flame wasnt very far off. -PVP -Trapdoor opens at 75 with shanty -get to chill next to flameheart himself -hourglass acts like the chest, though it is worthless to those who sink you -PVE bad -"mobile" event, as the circle is wherever you invade/are invaded

Rare is always watching...

I would really like to see a hunters call update. I’m not the only one who thinks that their time of relevance has come to an end. It needs an update. Catching and selling fish doesn’t make a trading company, if they could add a emissary system or a set of voyages. It would spike the popularity, and maybe they could have fish that you couldn’t put into your inventory, so a added threat of stealing would be added.

damn, i love all of these ideas! they would all make the game more alive and dynamic, I especially love the last one, as a Virtual Photographer. let's hope one day they'll get added to the game :(

I love these ideas for companies, without changing the game entirely, it would add a new direction to the game, and will make playing sea of theives more diverse in how you play 👍

The twisted knife one is such a good idea

I really want to see the Sea Dogs expand over to Adventure as well an a Sea Dogs Emmisary system. This also means for a FINAL ARENA OVERHAUL. This will come with new modes. The first one is classic arena with tweaks. You no longer get 40 points per cannon hit instead you get 1000 Points per sink. The 1k points are rewarded to whoever hit the most shots! A player kill will now reward 250 Silver. However spawn camping isn't an easy win as these numbers fall if you kill the same person twice etc. It goes 250 - 150 - 100 - 50 - 25 (Flats at 25) The chest STAYS but spawns at random within the now 20 Minute competition. You also have no indicator it's spawning. The chest gives 1000 Silver. The second mode (hate me all you want) is a TDM Mode. This one is simple. Whichever team has the most KILLS gets the win after 20 minutes. With a 30 second respawn timer and siphon (health on kill) so when you kill a player you regenerate 50% health. Wins in TDM will not count towards Legendary Sea Dog due to how easily it can be exploited. The third mode is your casual haha funny fortnite mode oh no red sea closes in and if i sink I've lost. You get it lol. Then we have the Adventure System. You can raise Arena Emmisary at the Sea Dog Tavern. You are tasked to hunt down a player ship who has the most sinks or player kills on the server! When you sink them you are dropped a Player Bounty Check (Cheque?) And an Instant Boost to Level 3 Sea Dogs Emmisary Grade. Then your next completed bounty is Level 4 then Level 5. Selling a Bounty Check at Level 1-2 Is a GUARENTEED sea dog level. Level 3-4 Is 1 and 1/4 Rep and Level 5 is 1 and 1/2 Sea Dogs Rep. Once you hit level 50 Sea Dogs in Arena you can ONLY progress to 75 via the bounty system in adventure. The commendation for stolen chests is reduced to 10 for Grade V. Anyone who has it previously are rewarded a Sea Dog Chest SAILS where the beam off the chest glows purple in the dark, you're also offered 50k Gold Compensation. Winning 50 Games on each of the crew types rewards that ships sails. Win 50 Games on Azure Scout, unlock the Azure Scout sails. And so on. The good boys is 10 Wins. Legendary Sea Dog progression only counts in modes 1 and 3. Weapon kills count in TDM. Hey Ray or literally anyone. If you've read this I'm so sorry if this is a brain tease. I may be English, but my English is absolutely awful lol but I tried my best. Also remember this is my opinion.

Don't worry mate, I understood it all!

I want an update that each week or month, a different voyage is added, something that gets me back in the game each week, could be just a normal order of souls mission, but in each biome, and theres a new title or reward for us to get.

I’d love if they added new hazards like jellyfish and stuff like that too.

I love how the first potential new faction he discuses literally becomes the entirety of Season 4

The fact that you predicted the hide out dang reapers

I would like a comunity Company, having an own fort by travel to a portal at the Sea of the Damned ir something like that. A place where you and your mates can decorate with paints and create strange vaults that can be offer to other Pirate's to earn reputation while the others will earn gold (or doing treasure maps). The idea is to make a more unique experience... And maybe create your own flags, to represent your country, making movies or something like that. Also the fort will be able to get sieged by other players or skelletons to give it a PvP or PvE experience

What I would love is a way for 4 or more people to join so you have a fleet of 4 of your mates on a galleon and 3 on a brig or something like that instead of having to glitch the game. And those twisted knife + legends of the flame factions are a really good idea 👍

I Hope they make more cons of pvp so we can have more ships in one server and more interactions with other players

I know that this one maybe sort of like the order of souls but what if there was a Trading Company that represented the Ferry of the Damned. Now that Phantoms are in the game, there could be an update where there are different varieties of phantoms. The idea of the faction would be the find them and have them returned to the Sea of the Damned. You could have players finding lost souls on islands or underwater shipwrecks using that lantern from The Fate of the Morningstar. Perhaps there are some souls who refuse to go to the Sea of the Damned and could be a boss battle.

How about a Ferryman Faction? You could hunt the Ghosts that have escaped the Sea of the Damned and actually get some valuable loot off of them too. The Faction costume could even be that cool garb worn by that cool Wraith we meet in the first Pirate's Life Tall Tale.

Dude, the idea with the faster swimming and breathign udnerwater gem is interesting, but youre thinking too mechanically. Imagine it turning you into a temporary underwater transformation where you can zip through the water at speed and leap out of the water like a dolphin until your transformation ends.

Personally want ether a Update to the Hunter’s call or a new “Monster” Hunting faction where hunting Megs and Kraken would be the goal. When you do a voyage for them they give you ether a horn or musical tone to summon the beast to fight, they could alternatively give you a compass leading to the location of one. The Kraken and Megs would drop new loot like a giant Meg Fin and Kraken tentacle which are treated as chest and able to be given to the faction for extra gold and rep.
