Sometimes I regret planting multiple squash plants because I can't eat 10 lbs of squash a day, but then other years they get some sort of stem rot and many die basically overnight. I guess I'd rather have too many than not enough. And squash blossoms are quite tasty too...

Just found you here, and this is the second video I've watched. Your information is easy to understand, and I have learned a LOT already! I have a lot of shade in the front of my house, and much more shade in the back, along with partial shade and a patio area with sun around noon, and on. It's gets challenging but you telling me what will do best in the three areas (shade, partial sun, and full sun) is going to help me a lot. Can't wait to see you other videos. (Taking notes!)

i love squashes, courgette i like to dry them and use them as a powder. we use them all winter long in verything from pasta to soups and stews! It is awesome.

This is my first year gardening and luckily my squash and zucchini are growing very well too. Think I will start harvesting mine when they are about medium size as well but they get big so fast!!! If you don't pay attention for just a couple of days, BAM they're huge! 😊

@@DebRoo11 i think i have seen 3 honey bees the whole spring. About a dozen smallish bumble bee critters and a handfull of red wasps. We dont even have mosquitoes this year which believe me i dont miss at all. Oddly have seen videos of people with tons of insects.

The bigger Zuchhini gets the sweeter. For some reason zucchini does not get tough like yellow squash.

I wish I could grow squash here in Florida. I start them outside and they grow like mad for a week and then they get a fugus and turn yellow. I have figured that out but then the inch worms destroy them in mass because I have large oaks nearby that they repel down from. I tried Neem oil and that kills the bugs but also kills the squash.

Glad you like the videos :) Depends on your zone, they like summer heat and if night time temperature drops below 55, they won't do good.

Ive had 100° plus temps. Female blossoms are NOT blooming and I've about 20 2 inch shriveled squash. At first i thought maybe i needed to hand pollinate. Then i realised female blooms are never maturing/opening to pollinate. I am at a loss. Ive checked for all possible pest problems. The plant itself is healthy, lots of healthy male flowers. Any suggestions? Every troubleshoot problems i find are no male flowers or end rot. Ive got neither of those.
