The oven door that comes off literally saved my back and neck😩😭 and I thank you so very much Mr. Helpful tips clean that up sir😂💯❤
Oven mats, wiping the door after each use, and wiping the interior after I cook something steamy has kept my oven pretty clean for the last 2 years. Wiping the door was a habit I got from my mom. I picked up the mats on a whim at the dollar store and holy cow was that a life changing decision. I started wiping the inside after spilling something once and realizing how easy it was to clean the sides while they were still steamy. Outside of spills, I have not cleaned my oven like this in 2 years.

good tip but what about splatter on the sides?
40 years old and just learning about baking soda and vinegar cancelling each other out. Thank you for the guidance! :)
I’m a pro cleaner too and it’s so refreshing to see someone using actual cleaning products to show people how to clean rather than telling people to use products where they shouldn’t be used.

VERY true !!!!!!
Thank you. Finally someone that addresses the fact that baking soda and vinegar neutralize each other.
The dishwasher pod trick for the oven racks was brilliant. The grease melted right off after an hour of soaking and only needed minimal scrubbing to finish cleaning them right up. Thanks!

Thank you for this video! I have only cleaned an oven once and no one has ever showed me how to clean an oven before. I now feel more confident I can do it on my own. Thank you :)
What a lovely brother and an appreciative sister. 😍
I'll show this video to my next housekeeper so that she knows exactly how I want my oven cleaned!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 For showing me how to take the door off! Years ago you could just put the oven in the broil position and lift straight up and it would come off. They don't do that now, so I thought there was no easy way to take the door off. Thank you so much for showing me those latches!
Of course the algorithm would bring this video up, the SAME day I finally decide to clean my oven 😂 the door removal is such a great tip!! Thank you!!
Loved your sister’s acting and you cracking up😂
Wow - the method for cleaning the racks is incredibly useful. I was astonished at how effective it was.
Your video inspired my husband to clean our oven. All I can say is: "THANK YOU!!!" 😊
It looks brand-new!!❤
Thank you so much for this step by step process…now I am ready to clean my oven!!!
Was taught by my mom to take a 9x13 cake pan and put a towel in it, fill with ammonia until the towel is covered. Turn your oven on the lowest setting, let heat up and then turn off. Let it sit overnight and the next morning wipe it out. You can also put you burner grates, rings, etc in a cover pan of ammonia and let it sit overnight and with a green scrubby go over each piece. Have been doing this since the 1980’s and it works like a champ 😊. Dollar Tree sells bottles of ammonia for $1.25 pretty cheap cleaner. You can also take an ammonia soaked towel and lay it on your stove stop and let it set several hours to clean off the brunt on stuff. 😊
My lazy @$$ just put vinegar and water in an oven safe glass container and heat it in the oven at 180 degrees for an hour or two, use a microfiber rag and wipe it down. I do it once every two weeks so my oven stays looking brand new. (I'm lazy and also very cheap 😆😆😆)

I would say this is a great maintenance cleaning method once’s it’s been deep cleaned. In the case of this oven it needed to be deep cleaned first to remove the years of grease and grime.

@@CleanThatUp yes, definitely for maintenance. I've done it since it was new when we bought it and it's from another decade 😁 I just can't see myself buying new stuff if my old stuff is in good condition. My husband used to repair and sell upcycled appliances so it kind of stuck with us to take care of everything we own. Money saved is money earned 😁

Works a treat on oven shelves. Ours were filthy with baked on grease. 2 hours later were shiny clean. Thank you.
The Cascade dishwasher tabs worked great on the racks!

😂😂😂😂 The back part had me cracking up because I was just complaining about my back when I was leaning over screwing with the dang thing
This is very helpful and very specific which is important! I cleaned my oven earlier in the year and didn't get magical results but it was better. I like how you noted to do it more than one time and also to use a razor blade. I also think I will try the zep. I have done the baking soda clean which worked about the same as any other cleaner. I can see by watching you that technique and timing matter and it's good to see that effort clearly illustrated! The idea of dish pods for the racks and using a storage tub to soak them is also brilliant! My stove is probably from the early 80's! It came with the house and is double wide with a proofing oven on the side and a large space in the middle of the burners. It would be hard to find a good replacement!

On older stove tops, with burners, that razor scraping tool works wonders in take on any baked-on food. Just get the angle on the blade right and don't scratch top.
Another great video.I didn't know that you can remove the door. THANKS.
Pro tip from a pro cleaner: if going with the heavy chemical method (easy off or other brands), spray, then lay painters plastic or in a pinch garbage bags over the sprayed areas. It speeds up the process and helps keep fumes at bay just a little bit.

Wow, after watching the "before" pictures I feel better. My oven barely have any grease, but I want to keep it like brand new. My husband baked the other night and made I mess. I will try that cleaning product, it seems practical. Question, when do you actually use the "self clean" option on your oven? Just curious.
Thanks B!
Great video
Great job
Man there's something so contagious about your seemingly genuine excitement about how clean you can get things. That laugh at the end is just 👌🏻👌🏻 Appreciate the oven in this video doesnt have any stove knobs since its a built-in, but do you have any tips for how to tackle those? Especially the white ones once they've started to yellow? I'm aware retrobrighting is a thing but I can't justify building a retrobrighting setup purely to clean some oven knobs haha
Are you able to just wash the cloths after with the gunk and oven cleaner on them or do they get trashed? Great video. I just found your channel and I’m hooked!!! Great video!!
I had an old Tappan stove for years....era 1960s? The inside of the oven was lined with liftaway panels. Once a year, I dismantelled the oven and placed the panels and racks outside on the lawn. I sprayed everything with oven cleaner and left it it to soak in the sun for a while. A quick rinse with the garden hose and everything sparkled! Great oven design!!!

36 years old, and over 7 years in my apartment and I finally cleaned the oven. I may have taken some liberties when it comes to procedure (i.e. wet sanding the wire racks with 1500 grit sand paper). but y'know, it turned out pretty good. Thanks man.

I have lived in my apartment for eleven years. I have never cleaned my oven ....it is spotless. My plan from day one was...."don't make a mess in the oven while cooking.... ever." I place a large aluminum tray under whatever I am cooking. Once a year, I recycle it and buy a new one.

We have a cockatiel, we tend to stay away from harsh cleaners. With the exception of Zep kitchen cleaner because well it’s the kitchen. I have always used vinegar, water, Dawn spray to pretty much clean everything in my house including her cage😂🤷♀️oven too.
Love the content! Is something like Easy Off dangerous/toxic to use to clean an oven?
The ending was golden.
How do you rinse your scrub mommy and scour daddy during the cleaning? Thanks in advance!
This was so helpful!! Also I would LOVE to see how to clean a gas oven with the big grates on top! It’s so tough to get all the stuck on grease off all the little parts it has on top under the grates! And the grates are so greasy but are like a cast iron material! I’ve tried so many things!!

I watched this video after I had already cleaned my oven. Nice to know that i could have taken the door off! 😄
Brandon-what do you do if food drips onto the heating element? Are there any safety precautions I need to take into account, is just a damp cloth okay?
My oven repair man suggested using Barkeeper’s Friend - thoughts on that vs baking soda?
@CleanThatUp
Жыл бұрын
I absolutely love Bar Keepers Friend! It can work well for ovens. If you have a lot of grease I might suggest using a degreaser before to break down the grime. Then rinse and come through with BKF.
What about the top part where the grill element is, should the element be removed or try to clean around it.
What kind of scraper should I use so it doesn't scratch? Ty :)
The scrub mommy paste also works well. Do you have a video on how you clean your cleaning tools?

Great video! I know your microfiber towels are reusable, but how do you clean them after a job like this?
@CleanThatUp
Жыл бұрын
Good question! I tend to use one or two of my older ones for the really greasy stuff. Wipe rinse in the sink and repeat. Once the job is done I rinse them multiple times to remove all the grease and grime. Then I will wash using this method- www.cleanfreakweekly.com/p/wash-microfiber-towels

Remind people to protect their floor! I use newspaper. Also, I like to keep the door open so the cleaner doesn’t drip - use duct tape to seal off the light switch.
Can i use a pumice stone on the glass door? Super clean oven wow!
omg, you are so awesome (and handsome). My oven looks brand new now. Thank you.
Does regular liquid dishwasher detergent work OK if you don't have pods?
Is the zep oven cleaner better than easy off?
I’m afraid to spray Zep since my oven floor has opening. But now I know the oven door can be taken off. I’ll try that.
Hi Brandon, from a cold and snowy London in England, UK! 🥶 Do you have any tips on how to clean the top part of inside an oven please? In all the videos of “how to clean an oven”, not one of them has ever even mentioned this part. I have mobility problems and find trying to work around the heating element very difficult. Great video. Is this for a NON self-cleaning oven? Thanks.
@justinankar
3 ай бұрын
Self cleaning ovens just have a 'clean' setting that burns up all the little bits of food or crumbs inside so they turn into char instead of burning or lighting on fire when you cook. It doesn't remove the grease stains that build up over the years.
Great video! How long did it take start to finish?
@CleanThatUp
Жыл бұрын
Hi there! It was definitely a few hour process, but it was probably a little bit prolonged in full transparency just getting all the video footage
How would you get rid of the fume smell after using heavy duty easy off?
do you have tips to clean between the two glass windows of the over door?
I am a housecleaner for a gal who doesn’t use anything but eco friendly and nothing that smells. She also doesn’t clean so her oven is black. Does the zep smell? How long did it take you to clean it with baking soda? Thanks 🙏
Is there a safe way to dispose of the grease from your scrubbers and towels afterwards?
@gearheadpatriot3709
10 ай бұрын
Personally, I use a spatula to remove most of it and trash it. You never want to put it down the drain. Then go on to paper towels for the worst and follow up with your sponge and rags.
Hi, how did you take the grill elements down? I struggle to clean with them on
I have a residue from Easy-off, I have tried everything, do you have any advice
what about if oven has a self-cleaning function? would you choose that before using any harsh cleaner? would you try that first and if necessary THEN use the Zep? the downside of the self-cleaning function is that it may get smokey or sort of smelly in house while everything is being burnt off the oven...I believe you need to do it on a day that you can keep a few windows open to air out the house.
I have been using Easy Off Fume Free oven cleaner, and find that it works very well with much less chemical odor. Also, the longer you let it "marinate" on the oven walls, the easier the clean up, 48 hours seems best! If you know the comparison between your Zep and this Easy Off Fume Free, please let me know. Twenty minutes to two hours soak seems too good to be true!
@debbinz5108

I use Dollar General brand, which costs less and works every bit as well as Easy Off.
Iam curious. What do you do with the sponges and the cleaning towels you used in that video? You throw them to the trash or clean them?. If so, how do you clean them?
@CleanThatUp
Жыл бұрын
Good question! Lots of rinsing with water to remove the cleaner and grease/grime. The towels wash up really well as long as you don’t let the cleaner/grime dry in them. I usually can get quite a bit of life out the sponges by keeping them rinsed.
How do you deal with upper element and light, does spraying them really matter?
Just found you videos and have a question. I was cleaning my oven the other day and noticed there is dust, like dust bunnies, in between the 2 glass panels on my oven door. How do I clean in between the glass?
Can you please share how to clean top part of the oven?
