I found my mentor through my CEO! My mentor was a contracted designer that our company previously worked with. I’ve heard of a lot of people find ones through networking or on ADP list!

I heard it's almost impossible to become a UX researcher without 4 years experience is that true?

If I’ve learned anything from switching to UX is that years of experience is a guideline and not a requirement. I would say that some sort of education in UX (e.g. grad school, bootcamp, etc.) is necessary for a UX researcher, but what’s most important is your skills and what you bring to the table. Hope this helps!
