    This is a really cool truck. Not everyone needs 700+ HP and the design is more more functional than form which I really like. With the TRX it looks so luxurious that you will never want to actually use it for what it was built to do. With that being said. I agree that the front fenders could have been wider but maybe Ford anticipate people swapping them out for a set of aftermarket ones that are either carbon fiber or just wider in general. A guy that goes to my gym has the gen 3 raptor and he has a set of carbon fiber fender flares on it and with the silver paint job he has, it looks so cool.

    I don't get it, in your 5 things you hate video, you said you didn't like: 1) understated exterior styling, but you praise it here. 2). Crappy fit and finish of the interior that didn't meet the standard of a 80k truck, yet you praise it here 3). The performance of the truck with its "tiny v6". You were unhappy with lack of power increase for Gen 3 and that the 37 made it slower than your gen 2....yet you praise the performance here So which is it?

    Awesome truck for sure. I just love the simplicity of my old trusty 2011 ranger sport 4x4. It's got a loud power steering pump and some rattles in the dash but she fires up everytime and I have kept it in minty condition. Parts are cheap A/F even in this supply chain crisis I don't ever wanna sell it.

    I'm not trying to argue with your personal preferences but it's kinda weird for me why people like Gen 2 over Gen 3. They have the same proportions, probably even the same dimentions. Details is what makes those 2 look different. And that's weird to me because I don't even pay that close attention to details. I do prefer Gen 3 over Gen 2 mostly because of new colors and the 37s which do change proportions a little.

    There are a lot of things I like about the gen 3 over the 2. I think the front view looks better. It's tidier and simpler. If the gen 2 had the headlights and grille of the gen 3, it would be perfect. The rear on the 2 is far superior, imo. Especially in my supercab, which you can't even get anymore. I'll see how I feel when the gen 3 v8 37 package comes out.

    I heard Ford re-tuned shocks and some of the electronics for the 37. Does it really feel different compare to a regular Raptor? I read that regular Raptor is better for high speed offroading, jumps, etc., Raptor 37 is more of a rock crawler. The suspension travel is only about an inch worse on the 37 model which doesn't sounnd to me like something I would notice. But who knows, maybe the regular Raptor has stiffer shocks or something. Did you notice something like that?

  • @CreampieSamuri

    @CreampieSamuri

    Driven both extensively, and own a regular 35 model. 37 is cool, but the suspension, framework, and tires for 7k are not worth the money, especially for 99% of raptor owners that don’t often go off road. 35 will do everything you need

    Why would you even be curious about that? Top speed varies a lot depending on the exact road conditions. The reliable number would be the one given by the manufacturer. I believe Raptor is tire limited so you really shouldn't try your luck going over limit even if the electronics allow. It's not like european sedans that are limited at 250 km/h even though their potato engines won't even make it to 250, it' s safety-related.

    Your going to get a lot of çorrosian between the bumper gaps. In the long haul. That"s what happens when you rush out a vehicle just to compete against the competition. I am sure many problems are hiding around the corner. You can"t compare this yet to the TRX because the TRX is a original. This is a vehicle that they went into the parts department and used multiple parts to a older vehicle until they come out with a real competitor vehicle...

    Hey Ben!- I have about 1,500 miles on my gen 3 and curious if you’ve experience a weird thing while driving in sport. When braking I’ll get an occasional lurch due to the Downshift. Again, foot on the break the whole time. Have you experienced something similar at all? Or is this a trait for this gen F150? I’ve driven sport modes of other manufacturers and don’t have this sensation

    I have had a 2018 & 2020 both occasionally did it both tuned & factory although tended to do it more in factory tune. It’s normal essentially. It’s a 10 speed man, lot of moving parts

    @@MS-mr4zm Appreciate the reply! Totally make sense. Yeah it happens downshifting even at high speeds. It happens basically every single time in Sport mode which again, just doesn't feel "right". But coming in as a newbie

    They use the Transmission to slow it down, the breaks alone going at high speeds won't slow this thing down fast enough

    Ben Hardy if you had to pick between the raptor and the trx for 8 to 10 hour family road trips with mpg not being a issue which would you pick? I found a gen 3 for 79k and a new trx for 73k.

    2 months ago, I drove 2500 miles in my gen 2 to pick up my gen 3 and drove that back. Gen2 was always a great ride, but driving the gen3 w/BlueCruise (and all the other upgraded goodies) was a game changer on the 2500 mile back home. No one wants to discuss MPG much, but I got about ~650 per tank, and that's BRAND NEW. Anxious to see what it gets after it's broken in. (My gen2 got almost 700 per tank, that's with 55k on the odometer) I don't buy these trucks for MPG, but it is sweet to get 600+ miles on one tank!! (It'd drive me nuts filling up twice as much)

    @@mdw5157 yeah where I live both trucks would be about the same off-road wise so the deciding factor is going to be comfort on road trips it’s also going to be my daily driver the fun factor of the power that the trx has would be nice but off-roading in eastern Kentucky your not going to use much of that speed honestly when I went and looked at the trx something about the front end looked kinda cheap. Both are great trucks it’s a hard choice.

    @@adamnewsome1189 I don't need a V8. Seems that's the deciding factor for many. Also, normally the trx is usually ~10-12k more than a Raptor, so if you found a trx for 73k (as long as it's not a bare bones trx), wow...that's a find for sure! Good luck!! I hear ya about the trx front end, and just general exterior styling...it's a brand new model/design, and it already looks old. Not sure what it is. The interior, on the other hand is awesome!
