In the Philippines There's alot of steep road especially if you're heading towards mountains and it's actually very terrifying AF.

I know in some places a bit west of me, but east of Pittsburgh, like Altoona and Johnstown have some brutally steep streets. I once saw a video of steep streets in Altoona, Pennsylvania and there were a few so steep that cars parked sideways and the whole sidewalk was steps.

I pass the second steepest street everyday to work for the last decade. Honestly funny that I never knew that

cameron - Yeah it is, BUT, when the bottom section has two huge craters that you have to crawl over, so no momentum, a little front-wheel-driver just sort of spins the tires trying to get up. Guess how I know that! 😀 Couldn't even get to the cobblestone part...

Got up it first try in my Chevy cruze. Keep it in 1st gear and it climbs right up no problem.

I thought North Lane in Bath was steep but it looks to be only a 1 in 4 when looking at brick patterns on the side of buildings.

What about Ffordd Pen Llech at Harlech in Wales UK. Signed at 40%.

Although I'm happy that Baxter is here in this list, because Fargo is more popular, I must say the steepest driveable in California hang Baxter, but Eldred street in Highland Park and Mount Washington City. It's a small street in the city.

Baldwin Street is a 35% grade. Canton Avenue is a 37% grade.

St. John’s Newfoundland in Canada could easily best the top 4/5 on this list.

Eldred street in Los Angeles is steeper than Baxter.

Im from liverpool England and theres a street in everton steeper than most roads you've shown.

To really see how steep these streets actually are, you need to at least see side-on pictures/video, which give a much better indication. Using Baldwin St for example, most people would be far too nervous to drive up, for fear of their vehicle not making it the top. Those that do drive up tend to get up speed on the lower section and it still makes the vehicles work hard. It goes up about 1m for every 3.5m in length.

There's a few streets in Leslie, Arkansas that are as steep if not steeper than some of those. Shoot, coming off Nubin Hill or High Street (just to name a few) will make your butt cheeks grab the seat.

I swear san Fran has some steep fuckin streets yo 😂

Like the other poster sez, since when is 35% greater than 37%? Canton Ave is short, but it's a legit street. Absent verifiable proof to the contrary, it's the steepest (paved, publicly accessible) street in the world.

Yes, now confirmed as the steepest in the world and is very very steep - and I should know as I used to run up it daily in my school days in training for county cross-country running events, very exhausting!
