Like you, I’ve been natural for over 15 years. Last spring I realized my hair was in need of some TLC, so I chopped it all off. I’m now in the process of growing it out again. #1 on my list of things to do is to make sure I get regular trims.

Your curls are popping...Love it! I finally got a LONG overdue hair trim yesterday, which makes my detangling process so much easier. I also switched up my part line, but hadn't even thought about UV rays on the scalp (good point!). I appreciate all the helpful information you share about natural hair care, and THANKS for supporting the Calmfirmations Collection t-shirt line. That color looks great on you! #smallbusinesssupport ♥You are awesome!

Hi Karen, I sure do appreciate all your videos. They are so rich in knowledge on natural hair care. Your hair always look so amazing and healthy. Can you share with me, how do I get rid of the frizz look so that my curls are defined all the way from the roots to the ends? I’ve been doing the 2 strand twists that you referred to and left them in for 2 days, but they began to itch alot. Ty Karen! 💕

Hey there! Let me get clarity -- You said you two strand twists, leave them in for 2 days, and when you unravel them they are frizzy? Are you trying to achieve frizz free curl definition?

I believe I responded to the wrong person sorry 😌 Mrs Karen yes that’s correct. My hair is very frizzie after taking down my two strand twist even after a couple of days. I’m using oil to try to eleminate some of the frizz. It only help so much. I’m wondering if maybe I need a better defining cream or something. Please help! Lol

Hi Karen, to your last point about just cutting off your hair, I’m going to go out on a limb and say you weren’t meaning to imply that as being the best or simplest solution to someone dealing with excessive thinning and breakage or sudden and extreme hair loss. Even if this is the case, I doubt it would be an easy decision for someone to chop off all or any of what they have for fear it doesn’t grow back. ❤🙏🏽

Hi Ms Biggs! Thank you for your feedback and you are absolutely right -- This video or specifically the hair cut was NOT intended for those who are struggling are hair loss or excessive shedding as I recognize its not a 'simple and easy solution' to just cut the hair off. I know its not that easy at all 🤗

Hi Karen, I keep missing your live videos due to time zones. What time zone are you in. I am really struggling with my hair. I am trying to follow the right regiments Meaning I went natural year ago and I love it. I like to color my hair for different looks and I keep my hair washed, conditioned and moisturized. I eat health, drink water but not too much water but I live in Arizona so hydration here is a must. I have not found anyone here that I actually like to do my hair so I keep it myself. My hair is breaking off, my ends are thin and I have no idea why. I do not press my hair, relax my hair or over color my hair. What may be causing this issue. Thank you

Hey lovely! My husband thinks your hair is so pretty. But we love graying, salt and pepper hair. When it's styled on a female and a dope beard pattern on a male, too be specific lol. We're only in our 40's and don't have much gray ourselves yet but not rushing it either 😊. But my question, i made a green tea spray that i added rosemary essential oil to for my daily hair and scalp pritz. Is that an overkill? There's no added water. Just green tea and rosemary oil.

Hi Regina! Thank you so much! And good thing your hubby appreciates gray hair! And my husband and I are the couple you are describing because he has a dope grey beard! And I'm on the other side of 40 so the gray is coming in now! But I embrace it and keep it fly! LOL! Yes -- I think your DIY spray is a go to use daily -- and because its a green tea (I'm sure its steeped) it's already has adequate water. Good thing you don't have significant gray because I wouldn't recommend it for daily use over gray as it may discoloration.

@KarenofCurlHouse GOOD FOR YALL DOING THE GREY JUSTICE LOL! So I have just 1 more question, green tea discolors Grey is what I'm getting from your response. So, when more Grey comes in, don't use it daily, just use it as a rinse after washing? Because I don't want they Grey w/the yellow tint. That's horrible and we've all seen it lol. The reason I use it as a spray is to BLOCK DHT to reduce shedding.

Does it have to be a carrier oil you add to your deep conditioner?

  • @KarenofCurlHouse

Yes. You can add essential oils but they don't coat, but depending on the E.O., they are great for the scalp for stimulation (i.e., rosemary, peppermint)
