some other signs to spot a narcissist: -lack of empathy for other's suffeting or bad fortune. -watch their reaction when you establish boundaries or say NO, the most powerful word in the english language -they will always one-up whatever story you tell them. for example if you had a serious sickness, they will make their cold sound like it was a life-threatening condition. -watch how they treat people who are "below" them or have nothing to offer. -a narcissist's words will almost never match their actions. cheers from southern ontario, canada 🍁

The narcissist I know makes a point to give a dollar to the same homeless guy on the street. Give cans to the 80 year old housekeeper next door. Same person who takes 4 local papers to get as many of the discount coupons as possible… but interpersonally 1 on 1 she’s bored to tears if not high status or offer giveaways like very expensive wine etc…every weekend throwing somebody’s “birthday” party with lots of toasts. I clearly don’t measure up even though I have a birthday every year too. Furious at my being no longer willing to share my feelings with her anymore. Collecting data on people like an interrogation is another sign of a narcissist. They use info to justify themselves for dismissive behavior, smear campaigns and how to hurt/manipulate people. Not safe.

I think the second highlight may not have to be a narcissist thing only. I know someone who’s not really a narcissist, but really takes offense to when you set boundaries. Not a narcissist, but definitely quite selfish.

My light bulb first went off after I told my sister about how her daughter started crying watching the movie bumblebee when he almost died in the movie and how I thought it was cute she cut me off and said yeah every time she does that around me I tell her to STFU and go to her room! 😡 how could you stunt your own child’s empathy development like that! Makes me sick I hope my niece and nephew know they can reach out when they become adults 😔.

@tzeccentric7848 all narcissist hate being told NO. to your point, saying NO or having boundaries on it's own doesn't make identify someone as a narcissist, but it's def a big red flag to clue in on. once you know how to test people, they eventually will tell on themselves. -cheers, steven

There are many different signs. These include spending time on phone that was not spent previously, withholding sex from you, withdrawing in communication with you, agitation or anger over Petty stuff or making up situations to get angry or agitated over, lying, being secretive in any way, randomly spending more time caring for and pampering oneself such as putting on makeup or wearing cologne or coloring hair etc. Any type of changed behavior that is not aimed at pleasing or benefiting your relationship. With all of that though, follow your gut. your gut is telling you that something isn't right and it's telling you that this could or is happening, therefore listen to it. Just Free yourself from all of it! Run and don't look back. Go 100% no contact. The mental and emotional abuse is not okay at all! Do not bring anything up to her. Don't try to rationalize or have a conversation about anything. Don't let her know that you know she's in narcissist. All of that can cause a narcissistic rage. If you have not yet witnessed one of those just trust me that you don't want to! A narcissistic rage is beyond any rage I have ever seen or witnessed in my entire life. I am an army combat veteran and served front lines for a year and afghanistan. I have abuse going back from as long as I can remember, the first time in my personal memory is 2 years old. With everything I have been involved in, and my rape, other sexual abuse, their physical abuse, etc in narcissistic rage is by far the worst! If you need to contact your local police department and start a new contact order. No one can protect you like you can! free yourself from it all and move forward in your life. The minute you run and go no contact is the minute your life begins again. If need be seek out professional help. Therapy is the best thing I did for myself. The best gift I gave to me! The abuse is so deep and overwhelming that having a professional guide you through the steps of the healing process is extremely beneficial! Just remember, there is great strength in asking for help. There is great lack and strength or no strength at all in putting on a mask and hiding behind the opinions of society and pretending that you are okay! As human beings we all witness A Time In our lives where we are not okay! Those that heal, move past, and move forward, and have a brighter future are those who ask for help and do the work that is needed through the help! I'm so sorry you are going through this and I wish you the very best! Good luck! Always remember that you are stronger than you believe you are, you are worthy and deserving of better and always, and you are enough just the way you are and who you are today! Take this time for you! Get yourself again. Fix that meal that you're all time favorite, rent that movie you've been wanting to see, have a guys night out with your best friends, remodel a room in your home, go purchase that item you've been wanting to for so long, just do for yourself! Self-acceptance, self-love, and being able to forgive yourself is far more important than what anyone else can give to you! Believe in who you are! You deserve nothing less than that! You're not alone! Feel free to tag me in any other questions that you have! I'll help if I can. Additionally you can hire a cyber expert to help you get remote access to their phone so you can track them and monitor all of their activities without them knowing. You may locate the top cyber specialists locally at digitalinvestigate@gmail.com where you can engage a well-trained professional to assist you..........

I don't know why but in starting 4 I don't even recognize the demon that I deal with , but have strong spiritual value i never succeeded him. That was a horrible moment I have photogenic memory and listening. And he always changes what he said in last conversation and without thinking too much I give him a reality check. Fir an example he said baking job is prohibited in Islam yes i agree but we live in India. If u gt a chance and clear the exam u never think about to quiet from this opportunity. I have him reality check u was not able crack the exam that's it this an excuse this job his haram .. if this haram why u not doing in other sector trading his halal?? She passively agreesive but not pretending. 2) Allhumdolillah bit thing I achieved in my life this is nothing but blessing of Allah but in 3 month friendship as much he knows about me at every step comparing me with his failed achivement. example I am medic always dicuss some volatile topics with senior and junior. Next day she said ohh man I am worried about those students/ junior I am sure they fail in the exam. Look that group of guy seems I have too much knowledge they always ask me about this and that😂😂 that was compression. 3) I'm the kind of person who never talks in scripted patterns , his family and brothers start liking me bec of my charm and gesture. He said ohh u love someone uplift and perise ur achievements I said ohh man we had been in contact for 4 months.. i this thing not meant for me this all just bec who I am .. he said o my friend also crack this and that exam. And he lost his own delusion😂 again I gave him a reality check yes I see him ' chronic snooker and Tabasco chewing gang ' nothing u this company reason u and ur friends still jobless 😂😂 4) last year I was selected for my pg program course in a prestigious medical college in India he said ohh congratulations and again loss in his delusional world one of my friend and his best friend was also selected for m.tech but just bec of his friend he lost this opportunity how luck he have such kind of friendship and bond. I always in reality check I said noo man i never do this for anyone never stop someone for what he acchive by his hardwork and if someone really cares for me and respect my efforts towards my career and goal he never stops me for my growth and upbringing. So i never do this for anyone. How can I believe someone if life is temporary how someone can stay forever ♾️😂😂. 5) he said I am very close to my mother. And we are an innocent and liberal family again in reality check ✅😂 this time he loss his temperament passive agreesive. Why i said I'm spiritually strong because once we talk on call , his charmingness and gesture of honesty seems saud how u are lucky u have such kind of friend but he forgets to disconnect the call and what i heard is disturbing and i was not able believe that this is a same person. He abused me like hell .. so i treat him the way he deserves whenever he asked for anything I said no or just engaged him for my ans yes or no this passive anger burst at the end of conversation.. I fell m strong empathy but the devil's Shake my Sol deeply.. still i can't get out the charm and the lie 😭

It was a fabulous concert and the musician was very engaging and charismatic (btw, the concert was free because this musician wanted to give back to his community.). My ex friend always loved to throw out fake facts about her family. She claimed she was related to Sir Isaac Newton, which can be easily debunked as his last blood relative died in the United States in the 70’s. She also claimed that she was royalty, and that if her family had stayed in Scotland, she would be a Scottish princess; also not true. And yes, she loved to talk at you and would constantly interrupt. She hated when I would look things up after she spewed them out and disprove what she said. She was very selfish and hated anyone being given anything at all. Once, my husband who was my boyfriend at the time, wanted to surprise me by showing me that, new at the time, game PT. I love Silent Hill, and he did everything to hide its title so I wouldn’t know what it was. She was told not to say a word if she knew what it was, and she immediately blurted out as soon as the video started: that’s the new silent hill game. She loved to ruin surprises for others. She even went out of her way to spoil the entire plot of another game for one of my husband’s friends. However, unlike most narcissists, she did not have charisma and no one really liked her.

One person in particular is constantly looking up old friends and other people as well as acquaintances and passersby after she insists I walk with her to the Market. She then immediately takes off once we arrive at the Market to chat up other people while fully expecting me to be available to walk her back home when she is done shopping and visiting with all of her old and new “friends”. Such bizarre rude behavior. I don’t even know what to think - why even talk to me at all?

Danish I'm so glad you're giving disclaimers for adhd-ers. Because hearing about these signs make me feel like I am the narcissist. These disclaimers will help people differentiate between a narcissism and adhd. The conversations between my narcissistic parents and adhd me sounds exactly how you describe it here.

I've been asked a question by narcissistic personalities and they then answer the question, take offence with their answer that they have spoken and then treat you detrimentally for their answer. It leaves you dumb founded, trying to process what they've said and wondering "Are they talking about me?" You are unable to correct them as they have already made their mind up and make it as though you are lying. They love to think they know you better than yourself and constantly put words in your mouth from theirs to demean you for their supperior self pleasure. They then tell everyone what they've said as Gospel!

Having a parent who never completed high school / secondary school, then to have my own academic process criticized was a point of confusion as I grew up. I was expected to get straight As or was punished. When I made the honor roll, that was downplayed as well. You hit that on the head. And all the other points as well. I feel like you and I grew up in the same home. And the behavior continues to today. So I just do not talk anymore. I don't pay attention to them either.

I had unexpectedly ended up in hospital for a few days (while living overseas) and I sent a photo to a friend - who had been in the same hospital and said "so I have ended up here" - the response was to ignore my comment entirely and was straight into to all about how everyone had forgotten her birthday etc etc etc. When she eventually learned that I had been in hospital, she was like - well why didn't you say" and I said I did and sent you a photo and you ignored it. I have just come to realise in the last week that I think my father has traits very like a narcissist. I believe my sister has many traits as well to a narcissist (don't upset her....EVER or everyone will suffer- I have now realised that a LOT of what I heard growing up from my family, are things that have really damaged me and I have unfortunately believed a lot of it for a very long time. I am single to this day because I do not want to foist myself/the person that I am upon others because I have soooooooooo many faults and little to offer anyone. It's quite a revelation - although not the most pleasant discovery.

My first date with a guy I met online was 4 hours, in a Cracker Barrel, where I bought my coffee AND his, and listened to him go on and on about himself, nonstop. These were the things he expected in a new relationship and he was not going to have anything less than these. I barely got a word in. A month and several dates later, he got a job, and when I got a new job a week after, and excitedly shared the news with him, he didn't respond. I left him a voicemail, left him a message on Facebook, and eventually emailed him, four days later. That's when he dumped me. He "didn't think we were going to work out well as a couple." 🙄 That was 2018, the last guy I dated.

She talks about herself, then when I talk about something that's not about her, her eyes literally glaze over, she looks down at her computer and ignores me. That and other red flags I've learned to see led to me completely backing away from her, even moving where I sit at work. When you know what to look for, it's amazing how they give themselves away. Love bombing at first, then this week the devaluing began. Thanks Danish - I no longer fall for their manipulations

Oh, boy! This video is relatable! Whatever you are talking about, they have done it faster, better, more times, they had it way worse or way better, etc. Also, they find a way to bring the discussion to a point where it's all about them, and how they're doing, how they're feeling, what they're going through, etc. and you can't get a word in sideways. They also offer unsolicited advice like they are the end-all, be-all encyclopedia of knowledge and you're just a know-nothing. The advice they give is usually terrible advice, and they will usually talk extensively about things that are common knowledge - but again - they act as though nobody knows this information but them.

My mother (narcissist) could never acknowledge any achievements we made. in my late 50's I did something I've wanted to do since I was 19 - I rode my bicycle across the United States, by myself. This was freaking huge for me. About 18months later when I finally was face to face with my mom, she never even asked about it. So Ine day I started talking about it, and she interrupted and said how much she used to love to ride her bike and she would go with friends on the ferry then ride around Staten Island. I had never seen my mom on a bike and this was the first I ever heard that she rode. I asked when that was, she said she was about 16 at the time. She was 86, so she's remembering something she did 70 years ago as if it was comparable to my accomplishment. Of course. I don't know why I even tried. She's gone now and life is so much better! 😁

I would feel so bad, I could feel my energy drain from my body & I felt something I couldn't explain because it devalued me as well - I LOVE having conversations & sharing personal experiences - I love listening to others' experiences AND sharing my own, but I began to feel as though he didn't care about my experiences at all as though they were worthless. Also then he would go to sleep & I would not be able to because I felt so bad.
