I'm not into sports at all. My Mal is 7y old, friendly and not agressive. I'm now 59. I have to say: she's full of energy, runs all day in my yard; I've learned her a lot of commands; she's always by my sides. She's very protective, loves to play and run,... but... I'm from belgium, Malines, I know this breed since I was a child, I know how to aproach such a dog and have fun... This is NOT a dog for a beginner, but if you know how you have to approach such a dog, it's the BEST you can get!

I found my Maligator at the local shelter in Dec 2021. I was unprepared and ignorant of the breed, but I hit KZread and devoured everything I could find to help me. It has been a trial with several hits and misses, but she and I have found a happy medium. I think what has surprised me most is how intelligent she is and her energy is off the chart. Its been frustrating and exhilarating--at the same time. Yes, I got in over my head, but she has bonded with me and there is no way I can give her up.

Hi brother. Im so happy to see such a positive video about mals. I can totally say to anyone that I think they are the most formidable, smart, loyal breed. I was lucky enough to get mine from the military program, he was called Bear , now he goes by Major. He went through the training but got PTSD . I myself have Aspurges, PTSD , panic and anxiety attacks and so we are on a level, we give each other confidence and courage. He's fully trained and loves his bite work , spot on, can't fault him. I sense his wobbly days and we just chill , do some mentaly stimulating tasks or just mooch around the farm, if I'm having a bad day he doesn't leave my side. They are the best A Hole detectors and deterants, though smell and body language they can just tell, all dogs can but malinois are X 100 . If we are out and approaching, say a man I the woods , Major will stop me , access the situation, put himself between myself and them and won't take his eyes off that person until they have passed and he'll wait until they have walked a good distance away before we go on. I love him to bits . He won't let anyone into my yard unless I okay it , even people he knows and likes , nope not until mum says it's okay. I feel so safe and protected. I can't say enough about this breed, I'll never be without a maligator now. What I would say though if someone is considering it , is to see if you can get to spend time with the breed before diving in because you can never stop training these dogs or you get problems, nipping, chewing etc , they are too smart and energetic to be left for 8 hours a day, they want to be with you and a part of everything so if you don't have the time to give , I would think long and hard. If you aren't great at leadership they will walk all over you. Gain knowledge by watching as many videos like these as possible, do as much research as possible. Go get one and enjoy the best relationship with a dog ever. Ladies you need one in your life, trust me , I never fear anymore, one death stare from Major and that's enough for most people 😆. It trashes people, he has fierce eyes but will go floof for a head massage or baby kittens. They are such comedians too. I'll shut up now lol , I could write on and on. 🇧🇪 malinois shepherd, best breed in the universe.

Got a pup at 8 weeks. He’s 12 weeks now and he’s amazing, working bloodlines and his parents were imported form the Netherlands, obviously I put the time in but he’s pretty much house trained at this point and he knows all of the basic commands. So far he’s been a real joy and pleasure to have

I’ve just discovered your channel and thank you for all the info. It has helped a lot. I’m interested in a Mal as my next dog, but at the moment I am only doing my research on the breed. I have been around dogs most of my life. I’ve been around large breeds and small breeds. I’m most familiar with American pitbull terriers. My Bella just recently crossed that rainbow bridge after nearly 11 years of what I can only describe as amazing. I raised her from a 3 month old puppy until she lost the battle with a tumor right before she turned 11. She was my first personal dog and we did quite well in terms of obedience training. She understood basic commands such as sit, stay, on/off (as in on/off of the furniture), and come. And I played fetch for about an hour to two hours everyday. I often killed 2 birds with one stone by incorporating obedience training during play time to mix it up and keep her engaged. I also spent at least another hour engaged in (arguably our favorite type of play)ruff&tumble play her entire life. During that time I would also mix in obedience training. I would suddenly give the commands to stop and sit and that seemed to work well as she was great. I could even give the commands while I let her dominate and she would immediately stop and obey. She got along perfectly when my parents adopted a chihuahua sized dog that came along around the time my dog turned 7 and they played together often. They became buddies. She got along perfectly well with the many cats my family has had. She even protected one of them. She was an 80lb sweetheart of a dog. I still have alot to learn about the mal and it’s been made clear that they require ALOT of exercise and attention bc of how much energy/drive the mal has. If I were to show a mal at least the same amount of love, attention, and exercise do you think I could raise one to be great companion? Would I make a great leader for one of the awesome dogs? I have. A German shepherd cross Belgian malinois, I’m a intense runner and I’m willing to do daily training with him, he’s nine months and he has a great temperament. He’s really cuddly and loves people and dogs.

Would a malinois be a good dog for of course other exercise, but would this be a good dog to do hikes with??? Edit: I also would love a Belgian Malinois because my boyfriends job is going away for 3-4 weeks at a time, so having a dog that I feel comfortable with is a must have because I’m home alone and doing things alone.

I love your channel and your videos. I am considering buying mal in the near future and your videos are great source of education. I might get the puppy training package on your website as a start before I even consider a dog. Your content is really good.

I’m glad I found your site I’ve been doing my research. I would like to know more about these dogs in person. I don’t know where I would find some to be around in Colorado any clues I want to make sure that I’m up for the challenge not just the novelty

Love your videos...I have two Malinois'. A female (1.5 years old) named Stella...and a male (1 yr old) named Fenrir. They are the most incredible breed. They are my world. Also just ordered a Fenrir collar for Fenrir....love that his name is already on the collar...lol. ;)

Ofc u can so did I u just need extreme knowledge on how to train different breeds n u should also have experience first build trust n relationship with the dog then go ahead n start training.

I’m also considering on getting a puppy these past months and I fell in love with malinois as I’ve done my research on them I adore that breed. I have experience in dogs, Im 18 but we’ve owned many dogs in the family and now we have one that was my sister’s choice. I may love that dog but it doesn’t fit my athletic- active lifestyle, as this dog is too bored and slow for me. I go for long walks in the mountains , I go everyday for joking and stuff so I want dog that can fit my energetic routine and join in these activities without getting tired from the first 20 minutes of walking like my current dog. I have experience in dogs but after they stole my husky 6 yrs ago I didn’t consider getting a 'new' dog for many years. I live in a village in a big house with nature near me so I have plenty of space. Of course I’m planning on getting the correct for me, puppy mal , from a good breeder and of course I’m planning on training it with the help of a pro. So, how do u think this will turn out?
