    I have the Geolandar X-AT's (10 ply/Load E), which are on the heavy side for an AT/"hybrid" tire. Good to hear these MT's aren't as bad. I think that weight on the wheels makes everything work harder in the car, it is definitely worse on a car than hauling a couple hundred lbs.

    I paid $2500 for seven tires of the Yokohama MT but I bought the 255/85/ R 16 so I can fit it in my dually without rubbing the sides or lifting the truck up. On my factory original Alcola rims 16 inch they look amazing but I went on ahead and put a 2 inch spacer between the door wheels just in case ever put weight in the back but truthfully I’ve never driven it on the road since the truck is in the paint body shop and I’m running a 572 to 4 barrel carburetor with the blower supercharged and it’s a 1987 square body R30 i’ve had these tires before and I’ve never had to use the four-wheel-drive on the rough terrain‘s that I’ve been through especially on snow I think they’re fantastic tire but I haven’t tried them out on the truck yet because it’s been in the shop kind of pricey but it’s worth the money my other alternative would’ve been with the open country tires or the BGoodrich but I think the Yokohama‘s are better.

My brother has the same setup as me and neither have had a flat. Price has went way up since last set from like 300 a tire to 450 which sucks but honestly ive ran all the big brands and these are my favorite all around they do everything well and never a flat.

    I am running Falken Wildpeak AT3W. It was a tough decision between those and the Yokohama Geolandar. I struggled between the two for a couple of weeks. Went with the Falken because their tread warranty is 5k higher (at least from the store I got them from). After seeing this, I may give the Yokohama’s a shot next, depending on how well the Falken perform. Only 1k on them, but 100% satisfied so far

    @@--emt absolutely LOVE them so far! Been in sand, mud, gravel, tons of rain (had a borderline monsoon season the last few months), and absolutely zero complaints (minus the cleats on the sidewall like to throw mud all over the side of the truck. And the tread likes to hold gravel) but I expected that going in. Unexpectedly hit several flooded areas in the road expecting to hydroplane, and they felt like they just dug in and kept traction extremely well. No snow, as I live in the South, usually nothing more than flurries, so I can’t really give you an honest review there. BUT, they are still new. I know ATs can flip a 180 on performance once they get some wear to them. They’re honestly an AT that handle like a HT. Just took a trip to Florida with them and they handled beautifully. I’d 100% buy them again.

    @@tjheider7563 awesome review thank you. I do mostly Highway commute early (4a) in the morning .I'm a first responder so I'm out before the plow trucks get there and see tons of rain and diverse weather in the (Boston area). I bought a new big horn ruck and they drive like a pillow, I didn't want to sacrifice too much of the ride quality but I wanted a nice all-terrain tire to get me through. looked at the geolanders Cooper has an AT3 XLT looked at the toyo AT3s ATWs (just can't make up my mind ).I don't want a lot of things spitting out Rocks and damaged my paint though . I don't mind it catching a few rocks but Overall I'm looking for a quiet tire that's not going to be loud or heavy and sway or vibrate at high speeds etc . Looking at the 275 60 20 size had Toyo at2 extremes on my old truck and I love them. SUCH A HARD CHOICE !

  • @tjheider7563

    @tjheider7563

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@--emt honestly, noise is a non issue. They are a LITTLE louder than the tires my truck came with, but I mean a very small amount. As for throwing rocks, ATs in general have that issue when they’re new because of the much deeper tread. But seeing as to how these tires have manhandled everything I’ve thrown at them, I don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same in snow and ice. Wildpeaks like to eat. Ride quality isn’t really noticeable either. They’re silica based, so it gives them a smoother ride, extends the wear, and makes them grip like crazy in rain. They actually grip better than my previous HTs that came on the truck. I fought with the decision between Geolandar and Wildpeak for months. What finally sold me was the Geos are a 50k rated tire, and the Wildpeaks are 55k. But from what I’ve read, you can’t go wrong either way. Best of luck to ya, brother!

    From the research ive done. If you order a mud terrain in a metric size. Its generally cheaper than its American numerical version. For example. If you look up costs of your Yokohama’s in a 35” tire, you’ll see they’re more expensive. No idea why that is.

    Discount tires suck right now they want too much money for a good tire but if you compare them to the Toyo open country I think the Toyo open country empties will come first and so are the Yokohama‘s and then you look at the BG KO threes and the KO twos will be second on the list but the thing is discount tires their service sucks because we on a farm business with cattle and we have lots of vehicles that we change tires on them folks over there were so rude and disrespectful even though I still kept my patience and my cool even though I was mad at them for them disrespecting me thinking I’m stupid because I’m young but I’m a successful young man take pride in work for my money and I’m not downgrading anybody but the fact that a person would disrespect someone because they look younger and they think they’re dumb for some tires are like $300 I’d rather pay a little extra and have some decency and respect I will never take my business to discount tires ever again I can buy the same exact tire with the same exact warranty or even better warranty somewhere else and have respect at the same time I don’t think it’s well worth me paying that extra buck and I understand if you’re in that position that well that’s all I can afford I understand that but respect goes a long ways away well at least in my family your word means a lot gonna pay for those trust that’s the word I was look in for lo ok
