I have the Yokohama's on my 2017 JKU , in 35/12.5/17 size. The tires have 35k miles on them and have 12/32 tread depth left. They have been a great tire for me, no complaints. I will be replacing them with the same tire only in a 37/12.5/17. I'm sure the new tires will perform just as well as my older ones did. I live in Michigan so I see mud, rocks , sand, snow, and pavement ,these tires were great , all year round.

I have a set of the Yokohama MT G003’s on an M1008 (315/75/16). They handled winter ‘21 on the icy Lake Winnebago phenomenally at 22psi. Smooth as can be at 50-65 mph. It handles the WI forest roads just fine, acceptable in the wet. Perfect manners with a loaded bed and towing a utility trailer with two enduros and gear. They’ve been on 10 plus months with the rear Detroit locker and no abnormal wear. I really need 8” wide rims though. I stopped by the shop once to learn what a duplex mag lug nut was. Thanks for the help! Cool channel

Have had what I thought was the pinnacle of perfection, TOYO MT under my JKUR, and then I got the Yokohama MT and found them a little better in the rain on the road. The NITTO, from everyone I know that runs them is a great tire, but with light snow and sleet that we get around here all the time, they seem to not perform very well on the road during those times. My Yokohama do very well in that weather and better than any tire I’ve run off road in ice conditions. I have run many AT and lesser MT tires over the years. If I have to choose the best for tough off road while keeping a good family safe road worthy ability, it’s the Yokohama. Again, light snow, rain and ice is common around here in MD. I also highly recommend TOYO MT, as they are my second favorite tire for off road and even on road. I do think it’s great that many modern MT perform much better than they once did for on road driving. So, Whatever someone gets, we are often splitting hairs on which is “better”. I run 285/75/17 they are what we usually think of as a 34 x 11.5 No lift needed for my 2012 JKUR.

Almost a year and 12,000 miles on my G003s, 215/75r15 C on a LWB Sidekick. They're not quiet, and they scared the heck out of me when I got caught in freezing mist on paved mountain roads. I don't care though, because they've been incredibly durable while tracking straight, and in most scenarios where I lose a little traction the tread almost acts like a lug-based ABS, "stuttering" the vehicle through turns perfectly to make it look like I did it on purpose, and with style. They turned my Sidekick into a rally trucklet, and handle the rain just fine. They're lightweight, less than 5 lbs. extra per corner than the garbage OEM sized street tires I bought it with. They resist punctures surprisingly well, and hardly pick up any gravel at all, especially compared to my old Cooper AT3 4S I had on a previous truck. I won't be bothering with other M/Ts or A/Ts for a while, these are just too impressive.

In my area, the Trail Grapplers and Cooper STT Pro are the most recommended for off-roaders. I unfortunately did the the Mud Grapplers by Nitto, and they don't work that well in our area. I think it typically boils down to the terrain you are normally hitting. It varies a lot across regions.

My sister runs the BFGs on her Tundra and theyre great, but louder on road and questionable in the mud compared to the Yoks. the sidewall tread works great as well. these are super good tires for everything except maybe rock crawler scenarios. they are noticeably less grippy on dry pavement, but thats not what i got them for

Man, what a great KZread site. Great information and knowledge being passed on! I prefer the look of the Nitto. It’s sidewal and tread just have a great aggressive look. That being said, the Geolander isn’t bad at all. I personally believe it’s time for Nitto to take a big risk and update the trailgrappler. I’d like to see additional siping focused on wet road and snow. That being said… I don’t want them to look much different than they do, again their a great iconic looking tire. As far as the Yoko’s…. I prefer a more Nitto looking tread edge and sidewall. Good news is… we have some really great options. I’d like to see the Atturo Trail Blade. Just not certain where it falls in comparison to the Yoko’s or Nittos.

Had Trail Grapplers, good for off road in mud, ok on rocks but with some chunking. Its a nightmare on road with noise and not good in rain. MT G003 is just awesome in all be it on tarmac in rain and brilliant off road in any terrain from wet rocks to heavy sticky mud. Best of all they are way more comfortable over the Trail Grapplers and have superb wear characteristics. This is my experience with my FJ Cruiser. I just traded in my 2011 Jeep for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I'm looking for some new tires and wheels but I want a tire that is quiet on the road for a daily driver what would you recommend? I had 2.5" lift with 20" rims and 35's.... Last ones I had were Hercules TG but didn't care for the look.. Thank you in advance. =)
