I laughed when Raelan said, “don’t try to do all of them, over achiever” and the anxiety that had almost prevented me from clicking on the videos subsided. Trying one sounds good! Thank you for this valuable information and for “seeing” those of us who are still living in this super intense way that is no longer serving us.

I meditate with a soft smile on my lips. The smile is so brilliant while meditating as it makes the experience so lush and joyful. The long slow breathing just develops by itself during this process. I also spend time feeding my squirrel friends in my garden. Hurrah, I’m doing something right☺️

Raelan, this is excellent information! Whether as a reminder or hearing for the first time, proactively chilling out fear while increasing hopeful feelings, moves us in the right direction. I love that these tips are specific and can be used even if in bed feeling like you've been hit by a truck. You are making the world (and the space in our heads) a better place to be.

Hi Raelan, could you interview someone that has recovered from Me/cfs/long covid after narcisstic abuse or an emotionally abusive relationship/family/friendship/people at work? I think there are probably many out there. This impacts and delays recovery in a massive way as they are not normal relationships. Thanks

Brilliant Raelan, humming (bhramari beath in yoga) is also a good one, or singing or a supportive chat. All stimulate the vagus nerve thus calming the nervous system 😊😊😊

I used to meditate on my breaths and counting to ten. I thought that was the simplest meditation one could do. But these days when I'm constantly exhausted (undiagnosed me/cfs) I realised counting was too stressful for me. So what I do now, usually when I'm in bed waiting to fall asleep, is just feel my breath going in and out. I might put my hand on my tummy and feel, either my tummy pushing my hand upwards or my hand feeling itself being pushed upwards. I also "challenge" myself to make my body as relaxed and heavy as possible, basically a body scan. I just started a few days ago, and hopefully I'm not imagining this, but I feel like it's made a substantial difference. I feel like I'm telling my brain "Hey, look! Everything is cool. Nothing to stress about over here. It's all chill vibes, man". 😆 I just wanted to say this because us type A people that often end up with me/cfs and try and do a lot of things to fix ourselves, sometimes the most simple thing can take you a long way. But out of all the tips here I think I would like to learn to rephrase the words I use. It's probably great for rephrasing how you speak about and to yourself as well.

Have you found people who recovered by still having a non restricting diet(including "villanized" foods sweets, dairy etc)? Reason i am asking is because i am going towards a intuitive eating approach which honors my hunger queues, eat for enjoyment, and no restricting on a food groups. I realize the more i restict the more my brain place those foods in a not safe category which can lead to stress and flair ups

Hi Raelan, thank you for this First Aid Kit! 😊 I can support your advice in all of them, they really make a difference. And I have one more tipp for the forrest bathing: I add in some aromatherapy like a light fragrance of pine needle or gras or lavender to the sounds. This is so soothing to me! Wishing you all the best 🤗

Re imagining an activity that you cannot actually do: This may sound strange, but I don't feel I can afford massage therapy, though it might theoretically be helpful (it might also be stressful just getting to the massage place, and the scents there might trigger my chemical sensitivities). Nevertheless I sometimes imagine I am getting a professional back massage, and I believe it relieves tension, or at least my mental reaction to the tension is less. I've never imagined walking in the woods. It never occurred to me. But I might try that, too. I've had quite disabling CFS/ME for three decades.

Everyone is so different, so this may not help, but you could try closing your eyes and listening alone. For me that would not help since for some reason, audio only is more tiring to my brain! But I hope it might help you. ❤
