thumbs up as soon as you said, you take it to the track for safety ... wish more people had that point of view. The road can have many surprises. I've had two friends run off the same corner. One saw a box and rolled a vehicle, the other too fast in the rain and ran into a fence. It was a fun, banked corner; and both were lucky another car wasn't involved. Tracks are kept clean, have runoff areas, and you aren't risking killing a family for a cheap thrill. Luckily both friends came out with minor to no injuries, but the cars weren't nearly as fine. Another friend ran off a different road, no seatbelt, thrown out of the car, and lucky they didn't die, car almost ended up on top of them. BE SAFE.

Super6 Charger that’s what I have too. At first the tune that came with the kit was like that too. Not sure what state your in, but my tuner told me that the standard tune they had was tuned for 93 octane. My tuner retuned it to 91 octane and its running a lot smoother now.

samuel lachance I had to return it back to the manufacturer. Lucky it was under warranty

As soon as my warranty is done I will invest in one. Got about 20k miles left on it lol. I think it’s a lot better move to invest in a supercharger then a v8. Pay 5k for a super charger or 10k extra for a v8? Lighter car and better mileage.

no, when i got my car i bought it with the STP which came with performance brakes. I don't have any issues with braking.

Nice vid bro. Thinking about supercharging my future V6. Would you be able to go more into detail about the supercharger maintenance? I'm a newbie lol. I don't yet have a challenger but I'm getting one soon, so another question is would it be better to buy a v6 and supercharge it, or just start with an R/T and work with that?

Manuel Alonso the only maintenance on the supercharger is having its supercharger oil changed every 7k miles. As for getting an R/T, it all depends on your situation. I got the V6 originally because I needed better gas mileage. I worked far and this car was my daily. In terms of performance, the supercharger gives you more power than the R/T. You’re on par with the SRT, but you’re still getting the gas of a V6. The R/T doesn’t have forged internals. You can supercharge it, but it’s not recommended. You can run boosts over 7 or 8 at max. The hellcat has a V8 engine that is built for that.

Manuel Alonso it was around 7k. The supercharger is a full kit so it comes with everything you need for 5,500. My shop installed it for 1,500.

Shane Banich sorry I can’t help you on this one. You’ll have to research turbos for the V6 challengers. I’ve heard of it, but I’ve never seen one in person.

So if I get this supercharger on my challenger, if I have a warranty till up to 100k miles and I’m only at 38 does it void my warranty getting performance parts? Super chargers, cool ain’t I take, etc?

Zar_Kali_SD 619 thanks man. Honestly, it’s an amazing car overall with or without the supercharger. I got the V6 because I couldn’t afford the gas given my daily commute of 80 miles. Gas is insane in California.

Why not just buy the non tune variant supercharger for the Jeep Wrangler 3.6 Pentastar and place it into your challenger? It was designed for lower output but will still boost adequately without additional setup requirements.

Not necessarily. It all depends on how hard you run it. If you're constantly on the track pushing it hard then it will, but that is true with any car. You should be able to supercharge it 3 years from now, but I would recommend you checking with RIPP at RIPPmods.com they will be able to answer your questions best about their product.

Sean Wellman when you run boost on an engine you are putting more pressure into the engine. It does decrease the engine life the engine is in boost. When i say in boost that means when the centrifugal supercharger is engaged.

Jeremy Baker it’s up to you. You do run that risk, but the Pentastar is generally a very good engine that doesn’t have problems. My car has had the supercharger for two years already and everything is still good.

Hey man I think your whole challenger theme is great. I live in New York and definitely wanna get my Challenger Sxt Supercharged. I do have a shop that installs RIPP supercharger and I’m supper excited to do it. How much did everything came out to be for you. Parts, installation ? Did you have to upgrade your exhaust after? Or anything else in the car after you installed the supercharge??

Michael Lemus thanks man. The kit was 5,500 and the install was 1,500. In all, it was 7k not counting taxes. I did have an exhaust upgrade, but that was before the supercharger. My exhaust was the first of my performance upgrades. For that I chose magnaflow because it offered more performance versus just sounding good.

One thing you should check is the serpentine belt. The stock one might not be strong enough. Mine snapped after around 30k miles with the supercharger. Had to to it replaced with the RIPP one. The digital stuff will not be an issue. Sams with winter and rain. It still drives normal unless you’re planning to do burnouts in the winter which is a bad idea in the first place lol.

I see no cons, just minor bumps. The only real cons is the price, specially if u want the heritage edition. Also is finding a legit tune shop to get u set up right and not milk you. Can't wait to install mines, setting the foundation first, currently working on suspension and exhaust.

kevin diersing that’s a lie, why would he say that? You can hold on to it or return it if you don’t want to void your warranty. Though the V6 is quite reliable, no problems for me for over 3 years.

You didn't mention that you need to run premium gasoline after the installation and tuning. If you drive it a lot that cost can really add up quickly and the small increase in mileage will not make up the difference. If you could run E85 fuel and tune for it there is a possible benefit as it has a higher octane rating but you would also get reduced mpg. Also there is the problem of the alcohol reacting with the aluminum in the engine and perhaps parts in the fuel system.

I understand your comparison with the V-8. I have an SXT that I may supercharge at some point but I drive eighty miles round trip to work everyday. The fuel cost is something that needs to be taken in consideration above and beyond just the hardware, installation, and mechanics fees however.

Shawn John I have a mechanic that does the maintenance on my cars too. He also races a car in regional events. Not sure which division he's in but it's in the five second bracket. It's hemi powered and has an older style Corvette shell. He also has a chassis dyno and I have seen some unbelievable cars in his shop when I get my oil changed, etc. He's across the street from where I work and I get to see some of the cars blasting off when they leave his shop. We have discussed the possibility of supercharging my Challenger a few times and he is the one I would trust to do it. Did you put in any subframe connectors and the siffeners in your trunk and across the shock towers?

It’s been smooth going on the 4th year now. I had one instance where I had to replace the serpentine belt. It was time to replace it though since the supercharger ran it a little too hard lol

@@joseponce8408 I’m currently at 67k and it’s working well. I would check with my local shop specialist first. You’ll need to check the spark plugs, the belts, and get an assessment. Getting a V8 may be better but that’s a lot of money down plus gas is still going up……just take those things into account before you make your choice. That’s my advice

crank horsepower isn't debatable, it can be measured but not by anyone so guessing it isn't exact science since the conversion figures from the manufacturer aren't published so it can range from 15-20%. does the SXTs have LSDs?

I used a calculator www.mk5cortinaestate.co.uk/calculator4.php My SXT came with the performance package which has LSD. Not sure if basic version has it.

There is just no excuse for cutting another driver off. Beat them on the green all the while signaling, fine. But cutting somebody off is a sure way to end up in a road rage situation.

Haha I honestly have a lot of friends in Challenger Demons that have higher trims than me. It's all fun an games, we don't judge each other. Each of us have different financial situations and uses for our cars whether it be a daily driver or a weekend car. The only place I take my car to race is the strip and the road course. If you wanna meet there, I'll see you there. No street racing here "officers" :P

Adel Isa ooooo my bad, in comparison to the R/T its faster. As for 392’s they are about the same. If you empty out your car and have the right tires you might be able to beat the 392. Check out 86 face, he’s got a really good build specifically for the strip.

oldsTV it’s actually a pro because you’re getting more power than an R/T 22k+5.5k=27.5k plus 1.5k installation. So 30k. The R/T starts at 34.5k Plus, you’re still getting better gas.

In CA lol challenger sxt are 30-35k 💀thanks too Biden. The RTs are 43k and scats are 46-55k

Biggest con is after all the money and time you are still barely over cammed 5.7 levels

Faster than the R/T! Unless he puts a cam, headers, and a tune. Then they're spanking you again because of the torque. Plus, the Hemi sound. But hey, nice car anyway.

Thanks anyway, 86face has the complete V6 built for the strip. My car has evolved to be more of a road course car. I have a reinforced front strut, front and back sway bars, and stage 1 springs now. I just wanted to build my own car rather than getting it all done. When I first got the car I lived far from work. As my daily i wanted additional MPG. If gas wasn't an issue I would have gotten the scat pak. In all, I love my build and even without the sound I do have the MPG for long road trips :)

So sad for you living in CA with all those strict rules. Glad I'm on the other coast in South Carolina with hardly no car rules.
