If you're not used to it, it can be difficult to understand sometimes. For some reason pretty much all of the mix up hard and soft consonants. "bunga" instead of "bunka" for example. The tenses are off sometimes, too.

Flight is cheap, less than $1000 round trip from the west coast of US. Food is fair priced since you don't need to pay taxes and tips. The only obstacle is finding a place. There is hardly any AirBnB or minpaku in Japan.

@@toshi8569 Living there is a struggle. You can't buy a house unless you're very rich. Regular people usually just rent the house from the government or they live in an apartment, but an apartment is a bit narrow for families. It's much cheaper, or so I heard.

KingSultanTV yes, you add or subtract anything, okonomiyaki translates to “as you like it” so go play around with toppings and fillings. Check out Simon and Martina’s video on okonomiyaki, they go over the classic version and a vegetarian version. If you have access to an asian market I highly recommend trying Cooking with Dog’s recipe (minus the pork).

Addresses (at least how we know of them) aren't as simple in Japan. Unless it's changed in the 20 years since I lived there, there aren't really numbers and street names.
Everything looks so goooooood. Awesome video!
Reason to visit Japan: 1. Shopping at Nintendo Tokyo at Shibuya 2. Go to Super Nintendo World theme park 3. Visit Gundam Factory in Yokohama (or something like that) 4. Try out some delicious Japanese food. 5. Tokyo 2020 Olympic (?)

I'm going to bite the bullet and finally try okonomiyaki and takoyaki. I always sike myself out because I dont think I'll like the brown sauce. If you could describe it since you enjoy it I would appreciate itA
@tosht2515

@BabyBoyBelcher It's difficult to describe any brown sauce because they are made with so many fruits, veg, spices, etc. but if you know what Worcestershire sauce tastes like, you're close. But okonomi sauce is way sweeter. I'm certain if you go to a Japanese resto, you could get a taste even if you don't order okonomiyaki.

Yo Great Big Story another fine video and all but damn WHO PRODUCED THESE TRACKS PLEASE?🤓 The music is fresh! Btw so many comments about being too poor to go to Tokyo: work towards it and visit that city, or anywhere else in Japan that you fancy. I’ve been around the world a fair bit and can assure you that if you make that trip it will be worth every effort you made to make your dream come true. Gambatte!
That gyoza place is really good, I randomly stumbled in there after a night out back in 2009.
The food is just so great that it fights back at ya 2:23

I'm super hungry now 😍🤩😍
I’m a Yakisoba addict. I need to get me some of Japanese’s Yakisoba 😛
I love Japan, from India.
I'm very sure Ericsurf6 and John Daub loves this stuff!! 😁 I even think taiyaki with red bean paste or custard is so delicious; I tried a couple last December from Kevin's Taiyaki inside an Asian supermarket on Toronto's Bloor Street. Yummy! 😋
Love Japan from India❤️
I even bought a Taiyaki machine from tokyo. gonna try this chocolate flavor at home.
Thanks... Now I'm Hungry. And my fridge is empty.
Takoyaki has been my favorite food since childhood🤤
My recommendation for a dessert to have in Japan is “shiratama zenzai” parfait! ✨ “zenzai” itself is a kind of Japanese traditional sweet dish made from sweetened adzuki bean, and when it’s topped with white, chewy “shiratama dango” (small, white dumpling balls made from refined rice flour) then it’s called as “shiratama zenzai”. But that’s not even the final form just yet! 😆 When you have the shiratama zenzai parfait, you’ll get a small portion of shiratama zenzai topped with matcha ice cream, kinako (roasted soybean flour), and a decent pour of brown sugar syrup! Mm-hm! 😋 I’m not even “someone with a sweet tooth”, but I can recommend shiratama zenzai parfait to you! 👌🏼
I've been fortunate enough to eat all of these in Osaka, and they're all delicious beyond your wildest dreams. If you can only afford one trip in your whole life, I highly suggest making it a trip to Japan.
I love Japanese food! 🤤
Editing is fire
Love Taiyaki + Takoyaki!!!
I've been to Japan last year, I had all these wonderful foods. I had Takoyaki in Osaka, Yakisoba in Tokyo, Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima, Gyoza in Kyoto and Taiyaki in Miyajima. One thing that I'd like to add is that true Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki has A LOT more cabbage than the one in the video!
that yakisoba looks so good

I had both Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki and I highly I highly recommend that try attest both
in malaysia we also got that tayaki but our version was called " bahulu or baulu ”..you need to batter the egg then put the flour with sugar and bake it 😬😬😬
Can you do something more affordable? Something like... Idk top 5 best dollar stores?

It should be mentioned that the okonomiyaki made in here is hiroshima style. There is also Kansai style where the ingredients are mixed into the batter instead of layered.
