5 of the Best Street Food Finds in Seoul
There is no shortage of street food in Seoul. Every time you turn a corner in the South Korean capital, you see and smell something you just have to try. We sampled deep-fried treats like the french fry corn dog and fish cakes; soft, sweet egg bread; a breakfast sandwich served in a cup; and, of course, kimchi dumplings. So many delicious kimchi dumplings.

That French fry corndog is a thing of beauty, hats off to Seoul for outclassing even the most outlandish fried food at the Texas state fair.

I was at a OC Night Market in Southern California couple of months ago. Its basically a large food stall venue, with unique variety of food, very large event over 50,000 usually come during the weekend. ANYWAY, they had a stall where they had all the unique Korean corn dogs, like the french fry one, and one with cheese, and so on, and THEY WERE KILLING IT. Like a hour long line. Just saying if no one is doing it in TX, there might be a market for it.
You forgot Heotdeok (I hope I have it spelt correctly.). It's basically a chewy, crunchy Korean pancake filled with melted brown sugar and nuts. It is my favorite Korean food.

And boong-uh-pang (tricky to spell it in English)! They look like little fish but are actually pastry filled with red bean paste, cream or other ingredients and are DELICIOUS! This and hotteok are my go-to snacks in the winter :)
How could they forget the staple of Korean street food 😤 Tteobokki and soondae.

Can I ask what your job in Korea is? Also, can you suggest any other destinations besides Seoul (any interesting, rural towns)?
@thepiemaster0933

VoidX I went there over the summer (I’m an American citizen but my parents are both 100% korean) in our trip, we went to the DMZ, and multiple towns. Gimcheon, Incheon, of course Seoul, and at Myongdong-> is the place best known for their street food. You could also visit the huge royal palace in Seoul
@thepiemaster0933

VoidX now, places I have not been to but YOU SHOULD STILL CONSIDER. Are places like Busan, a coastal but bustling city. You can also go to Jeju island (that I have been to before) it is such a beautiful place and good place to just sit back and relax
@aus-li

ThePieMaster09 Lmao, I love how you capitalize on your ethnicity XD Thanks a lot! I’ll try all the other places except the DMZ...I think it’s kinda boring XD Also, do you have a favorite Korean food? One of mine is kimchi.
I’ve had the corn dog before and I can confirm it’s absolutely delicious
For those who ate sad that this video didn't feature the note famous street foods i think it's actually great to see the lesser known foods shown here :) I never thought these foods were Korean foods but now seeing them here i realize I've lived with them so long enough to forget they were distinctly Korean in the first place
Hello GBS ! I love your videos
Wang Mandu was soooo good when I tried it!! I wish I tried more of the fish cakes when I was there.

Yes, more foods to add to my bucket list!
Video editing on this is so amazing
The fish cake looks so delicious!
My favourite SK street-food is fish cake. It's esp. yum when you eat it during chilly weather and then you drink a shot of soju after. Jinro is the best brand, but I love Chum-churum.
Not sure if they are best Street food in Korea, but I tried all these stalls except egg bread ( not my personal fav dish but others seems liking it ) and I can confidently say they are decent quick bites
Oh geez, I miss Toast-u so so much. Haven't been to Korea in 11 years but its what would sustain me in the winter. That and chamchee kimbap.
I love Korean street foods especially Gyeran Bbang - egg bread. Will visit Korea again next year!
Thank you for covering my city's less-known street foods.
The best thing about trying the food beside the taste is knowing the person and history behind it 😃
gyerngbang is my FAVORITE street food... had it several times while in Seoul. Korea has next level food
Took my self here for virtual travelling during quarantine. Hope this pandemic ends soon 😭
I’m korean and there is something called Bungeoppang (붕어빵) and it is so bombbbb (fish shaped bread with red bean filling) - I also lived there for some time and never saw a street food selling the toast stuff. The egg bread is super popular tho
wonderful
I like the structure of this video. Showcasing 5 different locations and people, but under the same theme is a very nice change of pace.
I have had the egg bread before, I did not like it. But I will still try the other 4 if I get a chance!
This honestly looks delicious
Love me some Seoul food 😋
Christmas specials In NYC/DC please!!
How you hold that chopsticks at 5:19 ?
damn, some if these look so good! i don't want the meat ones, but that egg bread and that vegetable thing look amazing. i'm surprised i didn't see more cheese, cuse i know you guys love cheese there. i lived in Japan for a long time, and it was sooo hard to find cheese because no one eats it, but korea knows what's up - cheese is the best thing that ever happened to food. either way, it looks sooo good. I would just tell them to leave off the ham lol
Toast really refers to all sorts of toasted sandwiches in Korea, not just the breakfast toast we often think of. Deli manjoo is also a great street food.
This video came out just in time. I'm in Seoul now and imma hit up all these spots tomorrow! Edit: Egg bread was okay. Corndog was nasty.

Mandu for the win. ♥️👍
Egg bread! Why is this not everywhere!
Will you make a Vietnam great big bites?
what is instrumental in 0:30?
Been watching way too many Beryl Shereshewsky videos over the pandemic that I don't even need to see her face to know that she's the one narrating it 😂
This makes me so homesick. LMAO
The mandu stall also sells other delicious items, one of them being korean twisted fried bread (kwabaegi). Everytime i go to namdaemun, im grabbing two pieces for me to eat lol Also, a little disappointed hotteok, tteokbokki, odeng and kimbap werent included ):

Which one do you want to try the most if it’s available in your country?
Y E S FINALLYYYYY
When I eat street food, my mom be like "so you don't like mom's cooking anymore? And yes, you are adopted" *But honestly, my mom's cooking is very good*
Mandu originared from the Chinese dumpling. Almost every asian country has a variation of it. Gyoza, mandu, xiao long bao, bhaji, wanton.
Weird I've had all except the egg bread in Taiwan
Sandwich lady has the best voice

Dear comments section: chill. They’re not going to get all korean streetfood in one video. Soeul is one of the street food capitals in the world. I think they were pretty creative with the 5 foods they chose.
I can eat fish cakes for lifeeee
The food in the video is all delicious. Most foreigners eat a lot. Not spicy food ...💟💟💟💟

@@MiniM69 You can get all this in LA. There are these things called Night Markets... Its usually quite large food events with up to 100s of food vendors of all types. I just went to the OC night night market couple of months ago, at they had that Corndog stand with the french fries, or cheese,... and they were busy AF. They had a hour long line.

She says that she isn't sure about whether it's traditionally korean and wangmandu is literally just the korean name for baozi, and it's generally isn't considered korean food here as well anyways....
kathmandu - kath + Wang = wangmandu ?
That first item is the most American thing that I've ever seen, but it's made in South Korea?
S(e)oul food!
No tteokbokki...? Awe...
*seoul food*
Just letting people know, the dumpling's meat is pork not beef. when she said there's kimchi and meat, somehow it is translated to beef. beef is expensive in korean and like 99% of the meat dumplings are made out of pork.
Egg bread has no business being as good as it is
Nice hit thumbs up if you got hungry
South Korean street food is next level, and North Korean, poor chaps.
