Both of them were my friends and both of them didn't feel the same way for me. It's kind of a torturing thing...

@@Psych2go It shifted from a physical long term friendship to online/distance since I moved countries 1 year ago. We were super close the last 10 months we hanged out in person and some of these previous points above I actually acted upon sometimes we hanged out (like the deeper and more meaningful conversations or the changes in body language) without realizing what were my feelings exactly. I can't speak for my friend or put words in her mouth, but I haven't asked her and certainly don't want to because she's changed and mature a lot for the better sake of her mental and emotional health (plus recovered from a 5 years long toxic relationship from her ex bf). I was not jealous of her ex by any means, and actually felt sorry for the guy since their relationship started well but started to decline slowly but horribly. I don't know how does she feel about me but if I had to take a guess, she'd be sure she'd like to keep being my friend and not anything else. The reason I don't want to ask it's because I'd feel stupid by saying something cheesy/corny to her and then be embarrassed afterwards, and honestly, in relation to the previous video of why Intelligent people struggle to date and the reasons for that, well, that also plays into my feelings and knowledge. She's like my perfect candidate for a partner even with all her flaws and defects, but I'm also wary of whether should I jump on the trigger and when (thanks to external factors in both of our lives).

I met this good friend of mine over the summer before my first year of high school and we became gaming buddies for quite some time, even shipped our characters together for fun whenever we did some friendly RPs together. It was about 4 months in that he admitted to having a small crush on me. It slightly took me by surprise, especially since it's been so long since someone ever felt that way about me. I took some time to think about it for at least 2 months until I realized I began feeling the same way about him. He was catching onto it a few times (noticing that I was wanting to talk and hang out with him more frequently) but I tried my best to hide it until I could find the right time to tell him. Soon enough, on December 14, 2019, I blurted out my feelings for him and... Well, let's just say we've been together for nearly 3-4 years now

Substitute step 5 for spending more time together with a mutual interest. Just hanging out more, like binge watching sitcoms together at the end of the day is one of the reasons my husband and I started dating❤ We’ve been married 14 years now.😊

I recently( actually yesterday) me and my girlfriend separated and it hit me hard since i love her so much, and I’ve been very sad since then, but watching this video and listening to your soft voice definitely just made me smile a bit and calm down and ease up. Thank you so much and also i love your videos they are so well done, much love!

Your videos have help me understand myself and my feelings. Especially since I have developed feelings for this girl I’ve known for 14-15 months. It could be just a minor crush, but my feelings for her kept growing and I am at the point where I want to hang out with her more. I know my journey will be long weather we start as friends from square one or even more then that. But I glade I am getting the chance to know her first.

Did have something like this. But didn’t work out that way. Was catching heavy feelings for my best friend and even told them. However, we agreed our friendship is too good to lose over a relationship. They’re seeing somebody else and I’ve just learned to accept it and move on from my feelings. It’s a slow process but I’m glad our friendship is still strong there. However, these signs will be useful for someone else in the future.

Ok so...one of my friends is also my crush and sadly we don't talk often. Fell for a beautiful girl but as soon as she realized it, she completely cut off the friendship. I'm not even afraid that she doesn't love me back, but I also really love her as a friend. It breaks my heart that she built that distance, even though she might have her very own reasons. Wishing everyone who is going through similar situations that you keep going and open to new partners again! It can be frustrating and painful at the beginning because you always think of that one person, but it will eventually slowly get better from month to month.

I'm sorry you've been through this :( I've also been friends with a girl for a year. I then caught feelings for her that reasolted into rejection and blocked so now she's gone. Catching feelings for a friend is risky but eventually you can't hide it for too long and have to let it out

It's been 19 years. We lost contact along the way. We reconnect last week and I have the feels. But sometimes I doubt myself, doubt what he says and I close off. I know it's been a while but whenever I hear or see him, butterflies ☺️☺️

I think the best types of romantic relationships are the ones that started from friendships.

I could have used this a couple months ago lmaoo I've known him for five years, but only started crushing on him last year. Saw subtle signs he liked me back, but didn't believe it.. Yes, there was the change in body language, the jealousy, the constant checks to see if we look presentable, our mutual friends making fun of us (some even thought we were already dating) and we literally went from not talking at all to talking and calling every day. We've been together for five months now and I couldn't be happier :D

@@Psych2go I feel that's one of the risks of having feelings for someone like a friend. Also, from my experience, sharing feelings like that for friends, let alone crushes DID NOT end well because of rejection and awkwardness. If it doesn't work out for a someone who is a friend, for me, it likely wouldn't work out if I met up someone in a social setting and confessed to them. I'm way too shy and socially awkward to be able to risk this kind of thing again

@@smiley4341 to tell you, most girls will not interact with boys unless they have to or need to. I'm sure it's the other way around too lol. Usually during group work. If you want a more natural approach, maybe you can discuss homework at school if you're still studying. I'm sure all friendships start with something that's common around the environment. For students, this is the easiest way to start a conversation. If you have social media, you can share some of your interests if you've added your friends. For me I got to talk to my crush because I posted a screenshot of the game he's playing too. (I heard them talking about it in class and I've decided to try it out bcs I like games too). The next day, he came to my place and asked if I played the game and invited me to his group chat with his friends :) We became good friends since then.

I'm 31 f and my best friend is a guy who is 23. We've spoken to each other everyday for the past year. It's clear we really love each other but we keep it platonic. We' live in the same major city. We are from different cultures, are different races, had a completely different upbringing, I'm an extrovert and he is an introvert, he's been in relationships and I never have been in one (I like being single and more "free" ), I'm celibate and he is sexually active, and I'm 8 years older (even tho I look 23 and he thought I was at first). There are soooooo many differences between us. I've never been so emotionally intimate with a guy before and for this long. He stopped telling me about other girls he's sleeping with about 6 months ago. He talks to his family about me all the time. I rent with my older sister and will be moving to a new apartment next year. Since I'll be living on my own next year and will be allowing him to come over it's clear we will likely become an "old married couple" who does not sleep together. I think when people are age 25 and older they're 2 adults that can make decisions for themselves. I've always been someone who is happy on their own but he makes me question this part of myself.

@@hannahdewinter5515 I guess for some people it is but not necessarily really, for me it wasn’t hard at all nor awkward, it just happened naturally and painlessly (I guess I was lucky lol), I think it really depends on your mindset and the way you live the transition is different for everyone The way I felt it was like the romantic feelings appeared quietly at some point and they started growing with time, until I realized, so I made my move and it just happened,since luckily the same exact thing happened to my partner ^^

I actually got a really big problem rn. I recently got into some of my best friends, thus coming up with a friend group of only girls. They were the ones who asked me to hang out at first, which I obviously was very grateful for. But then, one of those friends started to talk to me more than what she used to. I saw that as a really kind thing coming from her. We started to get along a lot more often, and we even did things or our own. I've always thought that my gf would actually be the perfect one. She made me start thinking "Is her it?". After all, she's a nice person, she's cute and she's smart. I only had the feeling that I really liked her snd thst was all. But then, someone who also has a crush on her asked me if I liked her too. That made me regret every single thought I ever had related to her. Rn, only one of my friends knows about this, and I probably see her this Friday. What shall I do?

Definitely. 3 years ago, I kinda knew my crush didn't like me, but because I felt very uncomfortable with how I was acting around him, how I used to think about him constantly and my grades were slipping, I just had to just confess and let that part of me shut down lol. The rational part of me knows that he doesn't like me, but the emotional part of me keeps doubting it. He was shocked at first when I messaged him, but then I told him the reason why I decided to confess and thanked him for being honest, my heart finally became calm. Though it is a broken friendship now, but at least we don't hold back each other anymore, we pretty much went on with our own lives.

@@AmIWhatIAm Thank you for sharing this with me. I think the risk of falling for a friend is that if it’s not mutual, we could make things awkward or lost the other person completely. If the relationship doesn’t last, a breakup would yield similar outcome. A lot of things are out of our control completely. When it comes to how you feel, sometimes being logical doesn’t always work. Well, that reminds me of “the heart wants what it wants”. But I think you’re really brave for confessing your feeling. No wondering ‘what if’ later on. There’s always lesson for every experience. And I think he was good for being honest with you as well. As for someone who’d been given false hope so many times, I can understand the agony of holding on to sth that will never happen. So I'm sitting here watching this video and noticing my crush is indeed showing some of those signs mentioned here when we hang out... and people around out do notice and have been teasing us... but I still can't bring myself to believe that he could possibly feel anything more than friendship for me. I know fully well that my self esteem isn't on top when it comes to this, maybe because in the past no man ever took any interest in me other than being buddies, and me being ugly on the outside and weird on the inside... oh well... if it ain't complicated, I guess it's not my life. :(

Regarding the 5th point about conversation, me and my female friend who I am in love with talked about some personal stuff recently and I told her I was in love with a girl (obviously implying her but I don't know if she figured out I was talking about her) and how I feel bad because "that girl" doesn't like me back and I remember her saying "well if she doesn't like you, others will". Also while a friend of her had told me she likes someone when i asked her directly she said "I don't know". Idk are those signs or not.

I’ve been best friend with this girl for like 8 years, ever since we met in HS. We have all of these signs especially recently when most of our inner circle friends ask if we have something more. But she’d always deny it (I was not there) and when we hang out just the 2 of us (and we do that very often) she usually says something like I’m very important to her but she just wants things to never get any further. She even tells me multiple times about her dream, her vision in like 10 years when she’d have her own family and a daughter and I’d have my own family and a son and they’d go to the same school be best friends since a very young age 🤦🏻‍♂️💀😭 I’m so confused

@@matthewtan614 I just want to leave all of this behind but since you asked… I had confessed my feelings for her not long after I made the comment. Long story short, it is what it is. I decided to take a step back and get away, keep my distance from her for some time (7 months now). Who knows what will happen in the future. Maybe I’ll find someone else or maybe we’ll have another chance…
