Hi Friends, hope you enjoy this video! If you like these kinds of videos talking about makeup hacks for small or hooded eyes you should check out this video: • The BEST Makeup Artist... The BEST Makeup Artist Hacks for Naturally Looking Bigger and Brighter Eyes.
In this video I share some of my favorite makeup artist tricks for lining small or hooded eyes. Eye liner can be easy to go wrong when you are working on smaller eyelids or eyes that have a hooded lid because the eyeliner can be applied in the wrong manner, or too thick.

Fab. video… how do you keep tight liner from transferring to bottom? I’ve used every kind of waterproof liner but I still get transfer! Thanks Lisa… love your channel. 💕
Good Morning Lisa, I am 60 years old and I am always looking for educational tutorials> My right eye is hooded and I get frustrated when applying my eyeshadow. I am going to follow these tricks and hopefully my eyes will look opened. Thank you

Hello there how are you doing today
I wear contacts and I have not found an eyeliner that I can tight line my upper lashes with that doesn’t irritate my eyes. I love this video and am going to try this look tomorrow, I’m sure I have similar colors in one of my many pallets lol. Very beautiful eye look!
I thought your left eye, sans the KVD liner on half your top lip + the two products on the bottom, looked larger. Wide open, in fact. Gonna try stopping there to compare with how my eyes look that way, then do both following *all* your steps. Thank you for continuing to offer tutorials, Lisa J.
I recently had to give up my contact lenses and now wear glasses full time. I would appreciate learning eye makeup techniques when wearing glasses, particularly progressive bifocals. Thank you, and love your videos!

Hello there how are you doing today 🌸
I so appreciate your style of just good old fashioned tutorials that teach! It used to be all that was on KZread when I was a teenager and it’s amazing you’re still teaching us! Thank you so much and I think I will do my makeup today. I hardly do it now simply because I’m exhausted, sick from my GI disease daily or I’m a busy mom with depression but I always feel better when I do it and my hair and feel put together, almost like I have my shit together and my life in order. I honestly do my makeup once every few weeks or months and I have so much makeup, makeup junkie and it’s a passion of mine and has been since I could ever start wearing it. If anyone relates like this comment so I can see I’m not alone!

I think most moms go through this phase, Ash and sometimes it lasts quite a while. ❤️ It is largely because you are exhausted and have no time for yourself. You must make time for yourself. You may feel that is impossible or even guilty at first, but pulling yourself together will make you feel like you have your shit together. When you pass by a mirror or reflection in a window, you will stand taller and smile instead of feeling sad about your appearance. My kid’s pediatrician guided me toward self improvement and he also wrote me a “prescription” and said Dad needs to be more involved. I don’t know if you have a partner, but my child care and household chore list was much much longer than my husbands. And I worked full time. After that doc appt, I confided in my husband and we literally sat down and divided chores evenly on a piece of paper and stuck to it. We were both happier as a result. If you don’t have a partner, confide in family and see if they can help you make time for you. I am nearing 64 and take care of myself to this day. You can do this! 😊

@Ash We could be sisters! I have disabilities in my back and legs, which, along with everything else, involves a lot of chronic pain. Just like you, I have a room full of makeup and I'm lucky to wear it 2 to 3 times a month! I love makeup, I love how it can totally change a face or simply enhance it. You're definitely NOT alone 👭💜💜💜💜

@@chrissymoss514 yes girl! I have chronic pain as well from two major spinal surgeries and I’m getting a third in a few months so I understand your struggles so much and it’s not about making the excuse that I don’t have time, I’ve never said that. I have the time I’m just not motivated because I’ve simply been really depressed and my anxiety is so bad I have anxiety attacks often and my GI disorder literally causes me to be sick every single day with pain. I understand makeup is a form of self care and doing things that value myself is important to me but if I have to choose between playing with my son ans being present, doing my at home procedures for my GI disorder or having a shower I will choose all of those things before makeup. Yea when I do it I feel pretty and better but I’m surviving and have been I haven’t been thriving at all. Health issues and mental health issues affect us so much it’s not so easy to just say I’ll make time for me. I make time for me but I weigh out which ME time is most important, makeup is at the bottom of that list

Thanks for such a simple video no ton of makeup for woman who are on the go we don't have hours and money for some of this stuff that's going to come off at the end of our day.
Thank you for making this video! I have small hooded eyes. I always tight line my eyes but I use just an eye shadow on the bottom. After watching your video I'm going to use an eye pencil and shadow. I used to think an eye pencil would close my eyes but your's look beautiful!!

My eyes keep getting more hooded as I age(62 now). What eye makeup remover do you use to get off the under eyelash tight lining and mascara? I wear contacts so I worry. Also how do you keep the liquid liner looking natural? What primer is best for older crepy hooded eyes? All of my makeup creases after just a few hours.
Hi, I really like the way you explain and emphasize on the do's and dont's.
Thank you for clear instructions. I have learned a lot. Could you please do a tutorial like this but for glasses wearing people 🙏 I have small, hooded mature eyes 👀

Hello there how are you doing today ❤️
Thanks. I hope to try this look soon. 😊
Loved that quick tutorial.
Loved this. I have hooded and small eyes so plan on trying.
Loved it. A big help for me. Thank you.
You truly are the best!! You are the best instructor on KZread. Could you possibly explain Lip Liners one day. If you have light colored lips, or very pink lips-which liner do you use? Older lips? Tricks to make them look bigger-or do you match your lip liner to the lipstick or go opposite? I see dark brown liners with very nude lipstick-why???? xoxoxoxo
I’ve struggled with hooded eyes all my life. The liner that works for has been brown bronze by Tarte . You’ve encouraged me to try black . I usually stay clear of black . I would love a video for thin eyebrows. I would like to make them appear fuller and natural but not thick and painted on. Thank you for the tips.

I stocked up on Revlon and Almay during coupon sales of their bronzey brown liquid liners. I recently came across a Wet n Wild liquid liner in a bronzed brown at Walgreens but decided not to buy any more. Not only black but also navy blue, black-brown, charcoal gray and some deep browns are just too intense, creating a heavy-lidded look even though I exclusively tightline my eyes. Covergirl once had a paddle tipped liner in Smoked Amber I also liked.
These are some great tricks, easily done.
Thank you for the step by step and the close ups! Certainly helps!

Hello there how are you doing today 🌺
Thank you so much for this tutorial. My life long droopy eyelids are really headed south with age. Your tutorial is easy to follow and so nicely filmed that I have had success using the techniques you demonstrated!
Loving all these teaching videos. Keep em coming please
The way you explained how to do eyeliner with the baby wing clicked all of the sudden and I get it now! I always struggle with that so thanks for the tips! Also, I never thought of doing black eyeliner in upper eyelid but then a softer color (like you used the bronze) on the lower lash line. I thought they should match so now I’m excited to try your method! 👍😘
I struggle so much with applying eyeshadow to my hooded eyes. And to make matters worse, my lids are small. I've learned a lot from the girls at department stores, including Sephora, but I just get nervous and mess things up. I'm good at tight lining, but cannot line my upper lid to save my life. I will use your technique. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for being a good teacher and taking the extra time to go step by step and explain things !!!!!❤❤❤❤,that really means alot to makeup beginners!! And people like myself that have small eyes!!! Too thanks!🙃🙂☺️lisa dear❤
Thank you!!
Awesome video. I'm headed up to my mirror to replay your lesson while I practice. Thank you, Lisa ❤️
Loved the video thanks Lisa
IT Cosmetics’ Tightline is awesome for tightlining 😊
Thank you. This is very helpful!
Good tips Lisa! I would like you to do a video on how to get your under eyes from creasing. I use Clinique under eye cream, NARS creamy radiant counceler & Charlotte T. powder but my skin crepes there. Without anything I don’t have crepes, but I need coverage for darkness!
Thanks for your video. It's one of the more in depth ones which I have watched on lining and tight lining the eyes. I have hooded eyes and recently found out about tight lining. It's my favourite make up routine now coz it opens up my eyes entirely!
Thank you….great advice for me🤗

I need to try that liner for tightlining. I liked the Marc Jacobs gel liner, but it dries out so fast. Btw- you’re gorgeous! I don’t know if your root color is you natural color, but it’s so pretty! Darker hair with green eyes 🤩
Just found your videos and subscribed, Lisa. I love the info and tips you share! I have pronounced gaps in my lashes (I'm 60) and would love to hear more tips to promote (or fake) the growth of lashes!
Thank you so much, Lisa! I have hooded eyes, almond eyes, and this video was so very helpful.
Thank YOU so much! Love learning the right way to do eye makeup. :)

Love the eyeliner tricks. I have a shopping list now.

I did my crease just how you said and it looks great!!!! That is the first time in my life I got it right. Thank you!!!!
Lisa, I think your eyes are so pretty even without all of the liner, lashes and shadow. They don't look small to me at all. Just sayin.. because some women look scary without their eye makeup, (i.e me at my age) but you are a beauty either way. :) I always had (emphasize past tence) long thick eyelashes and good skin, so never had the need to where makeup except from some concealer and a light powder , and lipstick. Now however, I need to line my eyes and do brows and tinted sunscreen. So this tutorial is super helpful. thank you :)
I love your videos...i have so many of your brushes, including the Hot and Flashy brush set, great set!!!

Always such great tips. I get so many great ideas from you. I have hooded. Ok saggy lids. Ha ha.
I’ve tightlined for as long as I can remember, 20 yrs possibly. The absolute best product is the Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eyeliner! It’s waterproof and does not budge. Dampen brush & work the eyeliner into a paste (should not be runny). Wiggle into the root of the lashes. It’s incredible.

Hello there how are you doing today 👋
Ooooohhh so so early !! I was just browsing your eye brushes and wishing for them !! ❤️
I was doing my eye makeup when I started this video! I used Armani Cold Copper on my lid with some hourglass incandescent light on the inner lid and bronzer in my crease. I love Wayne Goss pencils because they’re so smooth and glide on but sometimes they smudge. Thanks for the pencil suggestions! I’m guilty of looking down when I apply shadow to my crease so thanks for your reminder that that’s a no-no 😊
