5 EASY Motorcycle tips for Beginners. 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I hesitated to post this because of how many "You Know" I say. For that, I do apologize however I feel that the content is more important.
These are a few things that I have learned as a new rider that will keep you safe and alive for your next season. Riding a motorcycle is fun but also deadly if you are not doing your part. You are the only one who will pay for your actions. You must practice and know what to look for on the road. Picking out patterns will make you a much better rider.
I never understood the idea of zoning out when riding but it is a common misconception.
Please keep your head on a swivel and be safe out there.

Thank you for these topics. Too many other riders on KZread being a bad influence, riding too fast and disregarding safety practices completely to rely on "reaction time".

Honestly hadnt thought about keeping it in first. Loved that neutral is easy to find on these but. For safety thats great

Yea apparently the ninja 650 (and I’m sure others) have what they call “positive neutral finder” basically makes getting into neutral real easy at a stand still. Yea keeping it in first and watching your mirrors as you slow down (any situation) and especially at a light I feel is detrimental. Just watched an episode of Dan Dan the fireman last night and 4 riders crashed while getting rear ended at a light. It’s crazy and unfortunate. But at least it’s something we can kinda control

Good point about making sure your brake light flicks for vehicles behind. I'll engine brake to a traffic light for most of the way, but always flashing the brake light with my right two fingers briefly, on and off, on and off to blink and try to catch their attention. Mirrors are critical, agreed. I knew a biker who rode without mirrors. I asked why and he said he didn't need them. Shortly after, I saw him again and he said he got rid of the bike and had an SUV instead. I don't know what happened there. But yes, mirrors I use often, while also turning my head on any turns to see the blind spots.

I think mirrors are the most important thing on a bike imo. Very happy with the ninja 650 in that realm. I guess it’s pretty common to have bad mirrors or ones that shake and make the reflection fuzzy

@@CityNinja650 The default 650 mirrors are really helpful, yes. I saw videos where people replace it with less effective mirrors for the look of it, but with these, I don't have to lean out of the way to see what's behind me. The 2008 Ninja 250R had shorter mirror stalks, and I had to lean my shoulder away to see behind me. Good point about shaky mirrors on some bikes affecting the view a lot of tiny cars approaching in the mirror.

I agree. Honestly I always have them on. It don’t blind other drivers so it’s not dangerous. Very very rarely do I ever get someone flashing me

great video I just took my bike out today for the first time since I bought it last year had to work on it all summer. And did my riders cource and when I was riding today I kept engine braking hard habbit to break. I went home and adjusted my sensor for the brake light so any little imput would engage it. And I always struggle to balance when stopping have to catch myself with my other leg. Great video once again, I own a 1995 kawasaki ninja 600r (not the green one ZX6R).

I just looked the bike up. That’s a good looking bike imo. Yea it can be tricky to get used too. Especially if you didn’t before. When I started riding that’s all I knew was the break. I would engine break a little but my front break is my best friend. That’s a good idea about adjusting the break sensor. I know with mine I barely have to touch it and it goes of. Makes it easier to utilize
