I love that you demonstrated these techniques on a flower, an actual object. Not just a square or sphere... I am a bloody beginner and seeing these differences is HUGELY helpful 🙏👍

For some reason I can't grasp it enough to apply it unless it's demonstrated with an actual object.

This is a great tutorial … I’m a month in on my water colour journey and this is the best illustration of the different techniques by far … I’ve been searching for my next practise piece and this is it! Thank you so much! 👏👏👏

Bloody beginner! How funny! I love the English!
This may seem silly, but as someone who hasn’t tried to paint with watercolors since I was 14 in art class in school, this was magical. Such a perfect way to easily showcase simple techniques with such lovely results. I bought my first watercolor set in 31 years after watching this. Thank you for encouraging my inner child to play.
THIS!!!! WHY DID NOBODY EXPLAIN ME ANY OF THIS BEFORE??? This is exactly the reason why i think watercoloring is one of the hardest mediums for art 😭
this CHANGGED MY LIFE. your descriptions are so clear. Thank you for sharing this!
My favorite was Glazing :D!
I am new to watercolor, and this is probably the best mini tutorial I’ve seen yet. Succinct and perfect explanations! Thank you!
I am rediscovering my inner child artist. I had been dissuaded from pursuing art for so long. I can’t wait to try these techniques this evening. I am so glad I found you! ❤

Likewise, all the very best!
Wow. now I know what those are called. I usually just go in blind, and learn from the previous mistakes.
He’s so relaxing to listen to I could watch this man while trying to sleep. Also the fact that he made a mistake with the dragging technique and kept it in the video, showing that there is no such thing as perfection, and that you can always start again.
Thank you for not editing out your mistake! This is great and so easy to understand
Perfect beginning tutorial - just what I was looking for. I love that you got right into the demonstration without a lot of irrelevant chatter. Thank you!
So delicate and beautiful! Also, incredibly informative - been binge watching all your videos!

Thanks Tina! I’ve been meaning to catch your channel, I’m gunna go do it right this second 🖤
I’ve been working with watercolor for a few years now, but this demonstration has been the most helpful, truly. Somehow, seeing the same flower done differently really helped to clarify how the various methods could be used to one’s advantage. Thank you for sharing your knowledge…and humor. 😉
Great video, I tried watching other watercolor channels and they just kept preaching about letting the intrinsic beauty take over and that you can't control water color. Obviously it's a hard medium but there are techniques like what you showed that have really helped me understand how to take my painting to the next level. Thanks so much!
Dragging 2.0 was a good one 😂 Loved the video, pretty precise and crisp. 😍😍😍
OMG this has got to be the BEST watercolor tutorial EVER! Thank you!
This is such good practice: how much water, strokes and patience for it to dry. Charging and glazing are quite a challenge for me. My fave's dragging.
I've been using techniques I didn't know that was a name for.
Absolutely the best comparison video I’ve seen. Thank you!!!!!
I love your work. It is soo beautiful and inspiring! This video was very helpful. Even advanced artists can learn here some new things. It is always great to see this kind of videos on youtube, especially from you. Thank you! Sending love from Slovakia!

That’s so nice of you! Thank you for watching, and I’m so glad you found it useful 🖤🖤
Thank you for saying it takes practice! It was a lot of fun, but my flowers definitely dont look like yours! Ill keep working on it.
The glazing technique on the flower is so beautiful!!
This is probably the best flower tutorial I've ever seen! Thank you so much for sharing 🤗🙏
i love how youre also showing the process of working around and sometimes with your mistakes, learning how to do that is such an undervalued skill in art!!
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I really appreciate this kind of tutorial, which shows the underlying logic of how to understand what’s possible with watercolour. Plus, it’s *practical.* I know exactly what’s being done and why it is or isn’t working. No hand-waving away details we beginners need to know. Thank you!
Mess? paint palettes aren't messy their your gateway to creativity. Thank you for this. I prefer the much more precise ways of working. I like having control over my work.
It is so lovely how you handled the dried paint. It was great watching this tutorial, how you speak calmly and explain everything, thank you for this.
so glad i found you. your teaching technique is clear very helpful for a complete beginner. i can’t wait to try these this weekend snd watch more of your tutorials. thanks so much for the info snd encouragement.😊
I've never seen several of these techniques before. I love all of them. Thank you!
Thank you for doing this in this exact fashion! It's a perfect guide when the same image is used for each example. This is exactly what I needed to get started. Tyty
For a beginner this is one of the best videos. Thank You so much.
More tutorials plsssssss for beginners cheers! You’re the best

Yep , I really want to watch his tutorials :(
This is one of the BEST watercolour videos I have ever watched!! I love your style, your sense of humour, your clear instructions, everything!! I have just found you and am really thrilled. I am subscribing and look forward to many more great videos. Many thanks 👏❤️🇨🇦
edit: 7:22 sorry/not sorry but lmao, your reaction. it’s like you dropped a baby. i would be remiss if i didn’t admit i’ve had many “dropped a baby” reactions over simple mistakes when painting 🤣 i love this so much!! i paint botanicals, and as luck would have it, a sh*t ton of poppies. as a self taught artist, i’ve been doing all these things but never thought of most of them as discrete techniques. this is extremely helpful thank you!
You have made an incredible video! I'm a complete beginner to watercolor. This is going to help me enormously!
I've never seen half these demos before, and I have a number of books on watercolour.... Well done and thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video, I have wanted to practice watercolors so long and all my paints have failed. I blamed myself for many years (I know there are books about it but I find it hard to understand trough just reading text), so it turns out I've not understood the importance of hot & cold pressed papers and importance of different brushes, yet the amount of water needed to reach the wanted result!
Wunderschöne Techniken! Great! Thank you for sharing with us!
Very useful as a beginner to see the exact same subject done in such different ways.

Do you let the petals dry on all techniques with the exception of the first two?
Excellent tutorial! Clear, informative, precise and easy to understand. So glad I found it, thank you 🌸💮🌺

Thank you! So artistic and clear at the same time!
Wow. Great video! Step by step and beginner friendly with the reassurance that it does take practice.
Thank you🙏🌸. A great video! I wish there was a clear video like this one, when I started painting with watercolors.
I’ve just subscribed to your KZread channel for more videos like this one.
Practicing on cheap paper is very frustrating. Get 100% cotton paper for all your painting needs.
Love this! I was unsure about trying watercolors but this tutorial explains so much in such a short amount of time. Fantastic turorial, thank you so much!
I've been watching dozens of beginners tutorials and this is by far my favorite! Can't wait to check out more! 🙏
I love this video. My favorite is the glazing and charging.
Thank you for this very clear presentation!
Really well explained! You have a knack for teaching!
THANKS! I just took an interest in WC after many years as an artists and it is probably the most difficult medium I've tried (and I've tried a lot!). I found this informative and really like the "charging" technique look. Gonna give that a shot!
you slayed this! thank you :,)
Thank you for this tutorial ! I love watercolor but I didn't know how to use it properly :)
Hello, just found your channel and you have a new subscriber from Japan.
👏 The BEST beginner watercolor lesson! Thank you!

This is beautiful I'm going to get into watercolor.
Best technique demonstration I’ve seen. Thank you
Loved watching this!❤❤❤
Thank you! Self-taught artist appreciates. I love the dragging especially!
Thanks for this! Good to see how the techniques differ all at once. Well done.
This was really helpful. (I love that you forgot you were talking because you were too focused - looks like something I do constantly)
