This is stellar! Out of all the beginner-technique tutorials I've seen, this is the best. I especially love how you showed the practical uses, too ~ I've never seen someone do that before. Thank you so much!

@@AnnaBucciarelli I just love videos like this. While I'm about 2 years in now, I'm still at a beginner level ~ I can't get enough of tutorials like these and I'm *EXTRA* glad you did one, too. For yours to be the best out of all the ones I've watched... I tip my cap, many times!

You are a wonderful teacher! This exercise is so helpful. I have had problems with ratio of water and paint. I now realize how important a block of good paper makes the difference.

Absolutely!! With watercolor, Paper is more important than other supplies 😊 thank you so much ❤️
Thank you! Your guidance on drying times/paper wetness and paint characteristics (transparent/granulating, staining/non-staining) are especially helpful.
Thanks Anna for this wonderful summary of techniques! Very helpful!
TYSM!!! After 2 years, I'm finally able to create art again. I drew my 1 full scene yesterday & I just sat down to paint It's for Kansas day so I have our native plants, wildlife as well as our other state symbols. I have both a sunrise & a lake, so I have an immediate use for many of these techniques. Thanks again.
Even with many years of painting under my belt it's always good to review these kind of great tips. Thanks😊
Excellent! It's great to see all the techniques summarized side by side.
Thank you for this! I love how you showed the techniques in real paintings! That is very helpful.
Excellent video. Perfect for any beginner or exprerienced painter :)

Nice video! Great demonstration of these techniques and pleasant narration. Well done!
Great exercise! I will for sure do this one to get these techniques down and in my bucket! Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us!
Great tips! I used to lift the color with my clean brush, but the califlower effect is a good way to lift the highlight.
Amazing! Thank you!
I can tell this is one of those videos I'll be watching many times. Thanks for putting it together.

Hi Anna, Just wanted to let you know that I followed your suggestions and bought the size 4 and 16 Escoda Mimak Synthetic paint brushes and the Arches 💯 percent cotton, hot pressed paper and used them to create my illustrations. They came out soooo NICE. My daughter came in and complimented my images. Thank YOU soooo much 🤗. Keep up your wonderful tutorials.

You are a masterful artist. Beautiful video.
Thank you for this fantastic tutorial ❤..I’m so out of practice with my painting as I’ve had a long break due to work being done in the house and my stuff was all packed away..I’m going to practice this today 😊
I love these “skill” tutorials. When it goes up on Patreon I shall have a couple of good practice sessions. I would so love to be able to progress to painting from my own photos but I really struggle with the composition. Maybe a more in depth tutorial on that 🤷♀️😊.
Thank you. Really enjoyed this tutorial.
This is helpful. I have learned that timing is extremely important and many artists don’t share how long to wait before applying the paint. It’s nice to hear how long to actually wait. Thank you!
WoW Thank you❤
This was the most helpful video I have seen. Thank you.

Great demonstration. Thanks. Also, a discussion of papers would be good. My paper was too absorbent and sucked up the color like blotting paper. I'll try again with one of the Fabrianos.
As always, a great learning experience. Thank you!

Super 👍super 👏super🙏 I don’t know if you can still read Ukrainian? I’m retired and live in Florida and have chance to learn some painting.what I like it. I watch and follow the lessons on KZread and accidentally found you🙏 You amazed me with the highest level of professionalism and very simple and correct explanation .You gave so many very useful advices 👍 Will be very nice to create new lessons for Easter eggs and greeting cards. Я також родом із Києва Бажаю Вам успіхів,великої аудиторії ,здоров’я і щастя 💖

Дуже дякую Ольга! Delighted to hear you are enjoying the videos. So nice your grandkids are pursuing creative hobbies - it’s so important regardless of whether it becomes their profession or remains a hobbie. I worked a corporate job for 15+ years until stumbling on KZread and illustration work. All the Ukrainian folk art training I received in Kiev as a child has given me a new career 😊 слава Україні 🩵🧡

Sometimes while painting roses, a thin white line magically appears..looks wonderful in emphasising a petal. But I don't know how that happened. What was it I did? Would be grateful if u could explain how to create this.
