I am solid 5’9 I been this height since about 15 so almost freshman year and in 5th I was like I think 5’0-5’1 so I was pretty sure back then I shot up 8.5 inches so i had a massive growth spurt so I tend slouch a bit because I am less conscious of my height.

The difference between 5’5 1/2 vs 5’8 isn’t even that much but it’s quite noticeable though. From my perspective I think you being 5’11 your much taller then your gf who stands at 5’5 1/2 like you said and the difference looks quite big from you then your other friend who’s 5’8.

I’m 5’8 and I fucking hate it. All the girls around me are taller. I was walking with my family in the city and there is this cool event going on and I saw 3 girls throughout it who were stunningly beautiful but were super tall- taller than me. No way would they ever give me a chance lol. Not that insecure anymore but it still sucks. Hopefully I can somehow grow- I started exercising.

Either you aren't 5'8 or those girls are like 6ft, in which case, who's closer to average? You or those girls? Obviously you .Which means... they're technically the statistical anomaly, right? The solution to your problem isn't to grow btw, it's to learn how to accept that you aren't going to grow. Even if you do grow, you have to live every day as if you aren't going to grow, because what if you don't? What are you gonna do then? I'm not gonna say something silly like "life is so much bigger than height" since I can tell this is something you're deeply anxious about and advice like that doesn't actually respond to your situation. My recommendation would be to stretch - not for the sake of growing but for the sake of posture - and to develop your own style. Accentuating your proportions through clothes and wearing shoes that give a decent heel (Air Maxes are great for giving height but not making you look ridiculous)

@@supergeorge8603 a quarter of an inch is not much of a difference. Like if you were between 5'10.75" and 5'11.25" , you would still be considered 5'11". But if you were 5'11 5/8ths " and up you would be considered 6 feet tall

“5’5” 165-166cms is indeed short for a guy. For a woman it’s average and not short at all. But “5’6” is considered high average bc it’s only an inch or two above average for a woman or girls. For a guy the average height is 175cms “5’9” or “5’10” 178cms.

It's called being simply too tall for optimal life quality. Tall people develop kyphosis, lordosis and scoliosis. I would never want to be that tall. I'm 5'11 and 6'1 is the max I would want to be. I'm 6'0 in shoes.

This is the edge when your health gets under risk for various diseases and your life span starts to decrease. 5'11 is already tall enough to enjoy EVERYTHING a human can do. 6'1 is the edge of the "sweet spot" which is anywhere from 5'10 to 6'1. Still above average and tall, but not too tall.

@kowald ski Nope. Statistics clearly confirm that. How often do you see a 80 year old grandpa over 6'0?... I can't remember seeing any in that age. I saw plenty of 6'0-6'3 people from 20 to 60 years old. But nobody over 6'0 who was 80 or close to it. Never. The tallest grandpa I ever saw was like 6'0. He was 6'3 in his prime years. NBA players average life span is about 68 years. It's the wonder of the body and physics. Humans aren't made to be that tall. There're plenty of risk factors for it. According to their biological structure and anathomy, they can't live longer because the taller you are, the heart needs to pump harder. The edge often starts from 6'3 and above, increasing the health risks and shortening life span. 6'3 is the max "safe zone" if you want to stay healthy with low risks and reach your 80's or 90's. Keep in mind that you will shrink down to 6'0-6'1 as soon as you get beyond 65 years. My father was 5'8 ½ in his prime, and he's 63 years old now and 5'7. I'm 5'11. My old age height would be around 5'9. The more you exercise and live a healthy life style, the later you will start to shrink. I will hold my 5'11 as long as possible. Maybe i'll just be 5'10 with 80 years old. Still an excellent height for being a grandpa.

@Rodrigo O yeah northern Europe 5'11 is about average. but in most western European countries and north America a legit 5'11 is on the taller side

@@markrayne5382 legit 5'11-6'0 guys are above average once you get near 5'11 so at 5'10.5 or so your above average tall is 6'1-6'2 and in the U.S anyone that is legitmately 6'3 and above is huge or lanky.

@@dannyg8327 True, I have claimed 6'1 here and there and people wouldn't bat on eye lid, I normally just go by my absolute low(6') just for consistency, I would say 5'11 is borderline tall. Also depends what country you are in, in western Europe and north America 5'11 is borderline but if you go to Northern Europe 5'11 is very average, even worse if you go to the Dinaric alps region 5'11 would be below average (average height in this region is about 186cm) :o

There's no way Tom Holland is 5 8 then😅I'm the same and I don't look as tiny

I was 5'11 at 16. now 18 and I'm 5'11.75. so you may reach 5'7 tops but its mostly all in genetics

@@ice_wallow_come6697 average person in the US is 5'9 so u would be around average height. and 1 inch is barley recognisable. where I'm from (UK) average height is 5'10 so I'm only 1 inch and 3/4 taller.

It’s okay “5’5” is not that bad it’s like 165-166cms and it’s very short for a guy. Ik there is nothing you can do about it but I’ll tell you something exciting about being short king yourself. So when you are short it’s easier to get stronger at the gym and you can eat less and get big. You can also weigh less and look bigger. When your a tall dude like me who’s currently “6’6.5”-6’7”and I have a hard time trying to fill up my taller frame. It’s because when you are tall you have long arms and limbs and longer body so that’s why it’s a bit difficult looking bigger like shorter guys. The good news is when your short you have shorter arms and limbs and it’s easier to pack muscle without any difficulties. So I hope this helps you not lose confidence or hope but once you try this you’ll see some results if you’re dedicated enough for it but once you do it will help you.

Conclusion...don't be 5'5

Let me question something do you know where you will go after you die? If not let me say you can have a choice to either go to hell or heaven see 2000 years ago there was this man named Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and rose alive 3 days later all because he truly loved us he died for us so I question you now do you truly believe in Jesus or do you live for the world turn to Jesus Christ trust in him Christ has way much more to give than the world he loves us turn to Christ
