muchas gracias amigo, me enseñaron lo mismo solo que en el router la configuracion era algo asi, interface fastEthernet0/0.10 encapsulation dot1q 10 ip address 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0 interface fastEthernet0/0.20 encapsulation dot1q 20 ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0 interface fastEthernet0/0 no shutdown pero me sirvio de mucho

Hi I have a question for inter vlan routing, let say I have 3 VLAN A, B, and C. is it possible to configure that vlan B to be able to communicate with vlan A and C, but vlan A and C should not be able to communicate? thanks

U need to give router ip to the PC's gateway for the legacy connection

eh i hope you see this, but i have a question, around 6:10 when you were setting the ips on the computer, the ip address was 192.168.10.10, why were you able to set the default ip as 192.196.10.1 ?

+Thekreams that IP is the router's LAN IP, that is connected to PC0 via switch ! 192.168.10.1 can be configured before or after assigning the PC's gateway !

One easy question: if I have 2 devices connected on the same switch and talking in the same vlan, do they need to go to the L3 coreswitch to communicate each other or can they just talk from one port to another inside the same switch? Would be any difference if I add the default gateway to them? Or if I add the default gateway they will go anyway to the L3 coreswitch?

if they are communicating on the same vlan on the same switch, a router isnt necessary. Remember, the only reason for a router is to communicate with DIFFERENT networks. As long as both pc's are running the same IP address schemes and same subnet scheme ie 192.168.1.x/24 network, then they will only need a layer 2 switch to communicate

i am not able to ping the other PC. I have done the same configuration. Do i need to define a static route at the router for communication? Please note that i am using interface of routers as a PCs.

check to make sure that your default gateway for both pc's are set correctly, and also that your router interfaces are administratively turned on
