In the summer, the Green Mountains show off their name with their rolling green peaks wedged between beautiful farm lands in the Northwest Corner in the land of famous Vermont cheddar, experience the beauty of Vermont's dairy farms, rolling green mountains, and beautiful Lake Champlain views. When fall arrives over the Green Mountains of Vermont, leaf peepers from miles away to experience fall in Vermont.
Lake Champlain is the largest New England lake separating New York from Vermont. The lake itself is no where near the size of the Great Lakes but offers stunning green mountain views along with serene farm lands wedged in Vermont's northwest corner near Burlington, Vermont. Home to fishing charters, epic lake views, and the famed "Champ" who is the Champlain version of a lochness monster. This mythical creature has been claimed to be seen by countless fisherman and lake visitors.

Wow! When I taught at Middlebury College, 2000-2015, I loved to drive around Vermont on weekends. One of my four most favorite trips was to drive up to Burlington, catch Route 89 north, and then turn on to Route 2 heading into the islands. I would continue north until turning right on Route 78, heading to Swanton, and then return home. And, yes, I would enjoy the views of the lake. I can’t go back, but I will watch this often over my time ahead. There are dozens of scenes I remember. Memory Highways! Thank you, thank you for screening?

That's just about the exact route I took while I was there. I'd been all over Vermont before but never made it here and was amazed at the scenery and lake and how different but still beautiful it was compared to the green mountains and rest of Vermont. thank you!

I think Vermont is a great state to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with family. In a beautiful large home out in the woods. I mean Tennessee feels almost the same, but not quite.

As much as I'm not a fan of cold the fall and winter holidays are amazing here but have heard a few times Tennessee has a great feel too! Hoping to make it to the smokies within the next year! I heard they're spectacular and want to go!
The Islands are a great place to live for sure! Guess I gotta make some local driving videos.

My wife wants to move here. I don't know if she truly realizes how cold it can get, but I am willing to give it a shot. We're in NC and love NC (at least I do) but I also love Lake Champlain because we have an in-the-family-shared cabin in Willsboro, NY on the lake southwest of here. I like that this area is about halfway between Plattsburgh and Burlington and not TOO far from either - and, of course, it's gorgeous in the summertime.

If you're from NC or been there a long time it's definitely an adjustment! But absolutely worth it. Vermont is a one of a kind state to live in!
