Myeongdong (Korean: 명동; Hanja: 明洞; lit. 'bright cave' or 'bright tunnel') is a dong in Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea between Chungmu-ro, Eulji-ro, and Namdaemun-ro. It covers 0.99km² with a population of 3,409 and is mostly a commercial area, being one of Seoul's main shopping, parade route and tourism districts. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, Myeong-dong was listed as the ninth most expensive shopping street in the world. The area is known for its two historically significant sites, namely the Myeong-dong Cathedral and the Myeong-dong Nanta Theatre.

드라이빙 영상 참 좋습니다. 다른 선진국 도시와 비교해도 별 손색 없어보입니다. 그러나 도로 양편에 구멍가게는 너무 많습니다. 다른나라는 구멍가게가 별로 없더군요.

Not a lot of Japanese cars in Seoul eh? I think I saw more European cars (Mercedes, BMW, Renault, Porsche) than Japanese cars. I think I only saw one Honda CRV, a few Lexus cars and that's about it.

85% is korean cars, other 15% is foreign brands from Europe and US. Very little Japanese cars here. But it's same in Japan too. Can't see Korean cars there.

Japanese cars are not popular in Korea. They are more into the luxurious cars from Europe including Rolls Royce and Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche.

I was born and raised in Seoul. Reason why don't buy Janpanese cars is that some Korean people hate Japan, because they colonized long time ago. So some of people may think in a bad way if buy a Japanese car. There are many other foreign car options.
