Wow. What an eye opener!

When I served in Korea in the 1970s, this type of "construction" was still common throughout Korea. Now they are much rarer and are disappearing from all Urban areas. The older parents not being cared for by their children are many of the occupants of these dwellings. It makes you wonder what happens to them. We have seen videos posted of some these abandoned parents that got caught in the cultural change in the last several decades.

I lived in Hannamdong from 1989 to 1990, but I have never been to a place like this. I wonder if anyone still lives there? The contrast with the nearby high rise buildings is amazing.감사합니다

What do they do for living

Why aren't there people or animals when you went thru the slums? Not even the sound of children playing or dogs barking (one dog barked). Obviously, people lived there since there were clothes hanging to be dried and plants outside the houses. But compared to slums all around the world, this place is very clean and passable. On the better side of the slums, there were also cars parked. Thank you for sharing this video. Kudos to you. Well done!😊👍🙏

The blue spray paint numbers on the dwellings show that this area is marked for destruction and "renewal." The government goes through and identifies each property so compensation can be payed out. Of course these low income residents get screwed in the process and many live in even worse homeless shanties afterward.

But even Seoul, where a licensed shantytown that soon disappears and has traces of the mid-20th century still exists outside, is a city that is at least more advanced than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh's decades later, also there is at least 50-year gap in terms of nationality part, which is a harsh reality for you Vietnamese. Người dân đòi đền bù giá quá cao nên chưa thể giải quyết đó ông. Phát biểu như thể nước mình giàu lắm vậy. Ở đất nước mình vẫn tồn tại những khu như thế ngay trung tâm thành phố vì đòi đền bù đó. Dù sao nơi này rất sạch sẽ. Nếu nơi này mà ở VN, con nghiện sẽ vào trú ngụ và xà bần đổ khắp nơi.

탈북민인가요? 저곳에 대한 정보를 전혀 모르다니. 한국 최고로 비싼 강남구에 위치한 재개발 지역인데. 저곳 땅소유권자들은 합당한 보상금때문에 몇년째 저리 버팅기고 있다는거 다 아는 사실. 그들은 어마어마한 보상금받을 부자들입니다. 별걱정 다하네.
