4K CABVIEW: Howling winds and HEAVY snow! 🌨️🌨️❄️🌬️
The roads are closed due to the howling winds and heavy snow over the mountain pass, the trains, for us it's normal service as usual. One of the huge benefits of trains are the ability to traverse areas with horrendous winds and snow due to our weight and mass.
Starting off at Ål I will run a freight train to the freight terminal in Bergen.
The moon is right behind us and it will light up the mountain landscape on our way over.
The trip traverses the mountain pass on the Bergen Line which is one of the most inhospitable environment during winter. It's cold, it's snowy and the weather can turn on you within minutes. You'll even see the stark difference from one side of the Finse tunnel to the other.
Interesting points on the trip has been marked with a ❗ in the chapters section.
Enjoy!

I know! It is a favorite video of mine It is a beautiful world that has gotten tainted by those who wish life harm. Talking about the recent Ohio derailing of train and setting Forever Chemicals on fire this after denying the rights of railroad workers conductors and engineers their rights to strike for fair contracts. What a world. We the good people will win and all will be cleansed.

The internet is amazing. I'm a special effects guy in Houston Texas US enjoying a ride with a Norwegian railroad driver through beautiful and daunting countryside. And I'm loving every second. Thank you!
*It's a matter of magic atmosphere. It's all about that, for the viewer. I am italian. In 1998 I was in Norway, with an Avis car. Italy is one of the richest places on Earth, if we talk about Arts, History, natural views, everything. But going by car from Bergen to Oslo teached me that something BIGGER, wider, immense exists in Norway: Mother Nature's been generous, with Norway. By train, as I can now enjoy in my darkened room and full screen, is something MAGIC. I'd find perfectly normal to find a fairy or and elf coming out from nowhere... The sound is good as well. A big "Thank You" to RailCowGirl for this precious show.*

I was involved in aviation for 30 yr as a systems and avionics instructor and find these videos strangely hypnotic and relaxing. Your integrated transportation systems with it's depth of infrastructure and equipment put us to shame.
I never thought being a train driver in such a remote place could be such a dream job.

There is something very restful about watching the shunting at the end. Enjoyed this journey which must have been demanding with the heavy snow and strong winds. You could really see how much reflected the light the moon was giving up in the mountains.

I loved the wave-greeting from the freight train driver... At 24:39 I saw tracks coming out of the woods and across the tracks, I was hoping they were human as the one thing I always worry about is an animal walking inadvertently in front of the train. I love watching these for many, many reasons. I play a game - I keep a count on how many cars, people, birds, (even wabbits), other trains and even cows and sheep I see. I love to see the lit houses at the trackside, and high up on the slopes in the night-time journeys and thinking how cosy and warm it looks in them. And the daytimes ones the breath-taking scenery is an added bonus. I began looking at these in 2020, in the UK during lockdown when I had covid and I thought I was going to suffocate to death. They saved me for extreme boredom and took my mind of not being able to breathe all day and night - passed the time for four weeks until it broke. I've never thanked you until now.
Night views of the lit up towns is so gorgeous 😍

@@RailCowGirl Even though I'm totally blind, I really, really miss train transportation, because it's severely lacking here in the Southern United States, and it's only getting worse. The air quality suffers, too, and I'm considering leaving the United States and moving back to France or somewhere else where I can obtain transportation and become more mobile and independent. I'm only 57, but my health is suffering over here, and I really need to get back to being mobile and free again, and I just love how amazing Europe is! Question: Do you operate any of these trains, or do you ride them? Like I said, I listen to the videos, as I can't see them. I can read all the comments and descriptions using text-to-speech software, and I hear what I'm typing, so I can correct any mistakes I make which is important to me. Anyway, thank you in advance for the feedback, and thank you so much for such amazing audio quality! I believe it's as important as the visual quality, because that's one way I can take in the "scenery". (Just think: If we could all learn how to use all our senses, how much more considerate and educated we could be!)
