★ 4K 🇨🇭Cab Ride Landquart - Chur - Disentis, Switzerland [07.2020]
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Welcome to another wonderful cab ride from our friend Paolo, from the beautiful meter gauge RhB network in south east Switzerland. In this video, we'll be travelling from Landquart parallel to the SBB line to Chur and then taking the glacier express route along the Rhein valley to the last station of the RhB network, Disentis. From there, the line belongs to the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn and continues to Brig and Zermatt.
We cover about 73km and climb about 600m on our journey. The weather wasn't perfect, but we know there are some of you that enjoy seeing these trips in all conditions. We aim to produce good weather videos of all tracks as well.
For this video, we tried recording at 24 frames per second, instead of the usual 60, to see if the quality would improve. Theoretically the quality should be a bit more than twice as good.
I hope you enjoyed the video.If you'd like to donate, please click the following link. Donations will be used for equipment and software in order to bring you higher quality videos. www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...

Sounds from a locomotive, rails and even rainfall make me relax. Feels like I'm alone on the train. I really love this kind of situation. Good for reading, good for listening, good for sleeping...

Nice to hear that!
This part of Switzerland bring back a lot of memories. We where twice in Brigels for a Holiday. We bought a 7 day pas for the train and travelled as far as was allowed with this pas. The last time we visited Brigels was in 1996. I have to say that I saw a lot that I didn't see in 1996. I hardly rememberd the Chur train station. Thanks for sharing this. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Excellent…thank you! The scenery is fascinating, beautiful and quite different to the usual Swiss mountains. I enjoyed it very much. Regards from Rob In Bournemouth, England.
I love the little extra details, slipped in, like a train passing, or train waiting and where they are going, or why they are there. This makes your videos, so interesting, snow, rain, or Sunshine, Thanks!

I’d change Todays sunshine here to this videos raining there.. loving the Alps with changing weather; sun, rain and especially clouds in their all shapes! Thank You for this cool video! (Reminded me from Summer 2019 when cycled Arosa-Chur-Landquart-Vaduz-Feldkirchen-Bludenz-Schruns -Route..)
Einfach nur TOP ! So wie immer!
These rail videos are inspiring me to eventually (when everything becomes safe again and can save up the $$$) to do some of these utterly gorgeous European rail rides. So much breathtaking scenery that I would love to see in person someday.

Surprisingly fast for narrow gauge and the scenery is certainly more interesting than on the Dutch cabrides I've been watching!
Thank you for another wonderful video of yours. This video had everything I wanted to see and much more. Mountains, valleys, rivers, bridges, tunnels, and more. The Swiss greenery is always spectacular -- I like it the most. There was rain and clouds; you have to feel romantic! I like your Swiss videos as you provide a wide range coverage. Something for everyone!!! Thank you again and please keep these video coming.!!!

Very nice video!
I love these trains, I rode one in Japan 300mph, it was great.
@Slithermotion

300mph narrow gauge? Sure, why not ^^
The absence of a paralleling roadway abutting the right-of-way through much of the valley greatly enhanced the route's scenic beauty, and at times provided a hint of "remoteness" to the line. Any whitewater rafting on the river(s) pictured along the way? Certainly looks like good potential there.
@danielbreslauer

You bet! Google "rheinschlucht rafting" (or "niederrhein" or "ruinaulta"), ton of results there.
Very good. Just the right light conditions. Query? The resevoir/power station at 1hr.08 ish is a power source for the railway? Or is it a regional suply. The layout at the uphill end shows there was a rail connection at some time for supply of equpment and building material supply. Possibly the original route of the railway was where the water is now?
@dellacapaolo
3 жыл бұрын
Its a train power supplier. The track was used to bring material there.
Nice country
Amazing... hope you can post a video of the part between Disentis and Zermatt. Thanks!
Switzerland🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭✌️✌️✌️✌️
Wonderful cab ride, nice to see RhB again. The rainy weather made it quite beautiful in its own way. I had one clarification with regards to the main signals - the green and green / green and yellow which indicate the speed limits of 45 / 30 kmph respectively while changing tracks while entering stations, does the speed limit apply from the signal itself? Or can the driver pass the signal at a higher speed and slow down in time for the crossover? The views were brilliant throughout the video. The first part - its always nice to be parallel to the main SBB network and see action on that line too. Also, the train you cross in the opposite direction at Felsberg - video position 25:08. I am not absolutely sure, but isn't that the IR from St. Moritz to Chur? Even the rest of the journey through the Rhine Gorge was lovely, especially terminating at Disentis and seeing so many coaches and locos of both RhB and MGB - probably because its the end of the day. Thanks for sharing. :)
@dellacapaolo

Thanks a lot! Yes 45/30 in stations in from the first switch. 25.08 you are right it was an error.
nice content keep it up ;)
The quality of evening light, the rain and fog, and the broadness of the valleys sometimes it felt like it was filmed in Japan.

Every model railway looks like Switzerland. And Switzerland looks like a model railway. I'm not sure which came first.
Thank for another wonderful trip ride. Please can you do the ride from Neuchâtel to Champéry?
excellent video! perhaps is there a possibility to make a cab ride until Brig, trespassing under Furkapass Tunnel? thanks in advance!

Жыл бұрын
We are aiming to do that soon.
