    No burn in warranty should be a crime. OLED has a concerning flaw that can be incredibly detrimental to a customers experience of that monitor so they need to support the customer by giving burn in warranty of at least 4 years in my opinion If you want people to pay you a premium price for your product that has a serious user risk to it then you need to show the customer that you have their back and compensate with a warranty

When I first heard about the original QD-OLED's I knew I wanted one as my next investment but was waiting until they were 4K. I have Held off upgrading my system as the 40 series wasn't an appealing upgrade value or performance wise, and the only real reason I have to upgrade is due to Tarkov preferring better RAM. Although UHBR 20 won't be a deal breaker, to me it seams worth waiting to hear more about as I will most likely end up upgrading everything at the end of the year. I've been watching all the videos recently, your final thoughts are the same as mine. I think QD OLED is the way to go, having that glossy screen and higher brightness I feel is much more important than a dual mode.

  • @leastE

    @leastE

    2 ай бұрын

    besides, 240hz oled with basically no response time is clear AF. i think a mode that just reduces the size of the display while keeping the clarity is more important than dual mode 480hz. this monitor tries to use 1080p@24 and 1080p@27 and fails to keep the clarity because that's not the correct amount of pixels for the size given in the area. i think asus PG32UCDM solved this by just running the monitor in weird resolutions like 1620p@240hz@27'' etc. this way there is correct amount of pixels in the given area and it's still clear.

    if you have that much of an issue with the matte finish, the 480hz mode isn't for you either that mode is for competitive gamers. and a monitor geared towards those guys always have a matte finish. I have not seen a glossy monitor at a tournament ever. They are willing to sacrifice a bit of PQ for an edge. Think of the 24 and 27in mode that sacrifice A LOT of PQ, there will be sweats that use it. and this monitor, sadly for me, is for them. get a QD OLED

So interesting to see both techs now offer decent enough text clarity to make it a non-issue, leaving only burn-in as a sorrow for the 5yr+ owner. In this case lack of USBC and KVM makes it already pretty obsolete today compared to the competition , and as a longer term buyer an absolute no-no. Does it affect DP as well as HDMI? Limiting yourself to 120 Hz on a 240 Hz monitor seems problematic. At this price point it's a pity that the dual mode functionality cannot be controlled from the desktop, possibly via an app and USB cable.

    Thank you for the nice review. The only benefit of this model vs. current Q/W Oleds are 480hz refresh rate at 1080p on a 32 inch monitor. To me, this just isn't enough 1. Size 32inch way to big for esports regardless of putting it way back. 2. 480 hz benefit is really nice at 1080p as seen in the UFO image however only available at 32 inch 3. You can’t get the 480hz benefit (as Ali at Optimuum shows in his review) in cropped modes (27 or 24 inch) at 1080 to make the picture smaller on panel. This in my opinion is the key issue with this panel. I also wonder what happens to input lag in cropped modes. Would be great to get your input on this. 4. Most people moved to 1440p vs 1080p so going back-at least for me personally- is not an option So I am not sure this differentiation at this price level is any value to anyone who is looking for a high refresh rate esport functionality.

    In the UK this is going to be atleast £400-£500 more than the AW 32" QD-OLED, ok yes the AW has a mild curve, but still, id rather save the money and put thats towards another piece of hardware or an update to my peripherals.... I watched a video of an LG shill from the UK (happily taking the LG Ad ££) and he's recommending this monitor to bloody console gamers, which is utterly ridiculous! No official Burn in warranty, and a gimmick 1080p 420hz mode does not make this an "End Game" monitor, which is what a lot of tech "influencers" are hailing it as, I'd take both the AW and MSI QD-OLED offerings over this.

    I’m thinking of upgrading from my lg 55bx in the future for my ps5 and portrait rotation is an absolute must. What other monitors offer that?

    Text clarity is a deal breaker for me. I tried the new 32" QD-OLED and the text was just not sharp enough when comparing to a 4k IPS panel. The text simply looked blurry and I'm dissapointed that this WOLED does not improve on QD-OLED :(

    They will never beat rgb layout text. Woled is because of the white pixel. Qd oled is because the triangle rgb layout. I went from TN to oled and text only bothered me for a couple days.

    At that price the C3 or C4 is unbeatable. You also get smart tv features. I do like that the monitor has a fan.

    Oh there's a fan on it... I wonder why it needs a fan... I swear I will never understand what the hell goes on the head of product designers on monitor manufacturers... Why limit airflow by altering the great design the last year models had to this very restrictive design that also doesn't show how thin the panel is at the same time? They could probably get more brightness if they would use the same old design with an actually large heatsink and the same fan the panel would run very cool.

    Same with motherboard manufacturers designing large mostly flat VRM heatsinks, covering them with plastic only to need a fan to cool them.
