Then started my journey of decluttering and cleaning. Now I'm staying almost always on top of the things. And seeing my kids growing up in a calm, clean space makes me very happy! Thank you!!!💕💕💕💕💕

    I like that she tells enough for her audience to understand that there's an explainable reason why these houses are like this and why the residents need help and also she's raising awareness. Some people think being depressed or having PTSD is like they show it glamorized in the movies, but no, this is the reality for some people. You are just unable to do basic tasks and then when they start piling up it's just too overwhelming.

    Hey Auri As someone with a lot of trauma I'd like to explain a little why these homes get so messy. When someone is traumatized (the more traumatizing situations the more likely it gets) then they can basically get stuck in that emotional state of survival instinct that takes all of your energy. They also get stuck in a loop of experiencing the trauma again with flash backs and nightmares. It's called post traumatic stress disorder, often this comes with depression and anxiety and almost always with self worth problems. With all of that you basically have no energy to do basic tasks in your day to day life, maybe you also feel like you don't even deserve a nice home. Often the trauma started in childhood with abusive parents for example and is a circle you get stuck in with abusive partners later in life. It's just that you never learn what a healthy relationship is like and a lot of the bad stuff that happens to you just feel normal. Hope that helps a little to understand Keep in mind these problems are waaay more nuanced than I made it seem in my comment Love your content

  • @raeward8092

    @raeward8092

    Жыл бұрын

    I agree. You leave the traumatic situation but the injury is done and your home ends up a reflection of the psychological pain you are in. No one likes living like this but everything is so overwhelming, you don’t know what to do or where to start so you end up kind of frozen in place and where before something as simple as throwing out trash and washing dishes was no problem, now it’s like trying to climb a mountain. People with the compassion to come and help without judging are a big help, and while it may be hard to maintain, over time the healing knowledge that not everyone is out to harm you does start to sink in and things become slowly easier.

  • @YasminQuasne

    Thanks for the explanation! I was theorizing it had something to do with not being able to do chores that would be in our subconscious as the "wife's job" in a marriage as it would seem like ~working for their abuser by cleaning the home, even after the abuser's gone, but your explanation makes a lot more sense.

  • @undefinedfuck1301

    @undefinedfuck1301

    Жыл бұрын

    @@YasminQuasne well I guess if your abuser especially in childhood is extremely sexist and and plants a thought like "women are only good for cleaning" in your head it could be that this comes on top of what I said, subconscious rebellion I would call it. That is something I meant with this stuff is way more nuanced than my comment made it seem, but I think it's probably extremely uncommon. If it has to do with sexism it's probably mostly men who learnt that cleaning is not their job, so they never learn it, but mind you, this also would be "just" an on top of thingy and a little side problem pared with what I explained in my original comment.

    I just wanna say that Olga one day "realizing" her home looked this way is a positive indication that she is healing and coming out of the trauma induced survival mode she has been in for years. Being able to reconnect with her world like that is such a good sign and you cleaning her home is going to make her healing journey out of that terrible state of mind so much easier for her.

    My nephew's wife and I are cleaning a friend of ours home because he just got out of a really difficult relationship with a narcissist and his home has fallen into chaos over the years. We are cleaning every Sunday and the first Sunday we were cleaning the kitchen for 9 hours and didn't even get to the drawers. The second Sunday we were there for 10 hours and didn't quite finish. We're confident we'll be able to finish on the 3rd Sunday and then be able to move to other rooms. We're so exhausted after each cleaning but we feel good to help out our friend because he's such a kind person that ends up being taken advantage of. I've used your tips in cleaning and it really helps the cleaning process be faster. My nephew's wife and I both enjoy watching cleaning videos and organizing and laugh at how "weird" we are. After we finish for the day my nephew, his wife, our friend and I will sit and have dinner and it's such a good feeling to see our friend happy and have some hope for his future. Thank you for all you do!

А в доме после твоих уборок кажется всё просто светится чистотой и становится оч уютно. It helps the brain to feel like I achieve something even if bit by bit than getting too overwhelmed. (it was actually better seeing things done slowly than not done at all for months and months). So many videos made by others where chemicals are mixed together because of the colors looking pretty. That can be wasteful and dangerous. Thank you for showing it is OK to ask for help. Thank you for showing how you can clean up even when the situation is very overwhelming. I understand that some people go back to living the same way after they have been helped. About why women coming from abuse end up in these messy homes: I think often abusive men will use house work as a means of shame, and criticize the woman for being lazy, or dirty, or not doing a good job as a mother and wife. Then, when the women escape, it’s almost like all the years of doing housework with fear and while being screamed at makes it so that house work itself becomes a trigger. And the depression of course, and worthlessness (“I don’t deserve a clean home.”) Anyway. Great video.

    As children we were not allowed to even leave a spoon in the sink. Everything had to be washed up. Now that i am older, i leave the kitchen messy a lot. I wash the dishes once a day, so i let them pile up. I am a clean freak, i do clean, but it seems stupid to wash dishes multiple times a day. And i often reflect on the fact that i did a lot of cleaning as a child because my mother was lazy. If she was really cleaning i would not have had piles of rubbish stuffed under my bed.
