The only person talking about Samantha as a Criminal is you but she did recklessly endager the health of at least 2 cleaners, a young family and the neighbours that share her apartment block, spread libellous rumors about all and sundry and neglectfully damage housing association property, that's not even to mention dragging Auri and others up to help her under clearly false pretences. Some of her actions ARE criminal, most are civil infractions but one thing is for sure, no matter how ill you might be (physically/mentally), that does not give you permission to hurt others x

Absolutely! They seemed more thankful than Samantha. It’s clear Samantha has mental problems, and hopefully now that people know how she was living and it’s on her record, it will get the ball rolling for her to get professional help.

I know I'm not the first one and probably not the last one to say this but it really worries me that this type of houses goes beyond a dirty home, it's a straight biohazard space and honestly I'm afraid of Auri's health in a long term. Please take care of yourself Auri :(

Guys, this hurt - my own mother had the same behaviour but no one believed me when I said I feared she had mental health problems, not even doctors... Until she had to be hospitalized and I got to talk to the psychiatrist and he said I was right. Thanks Heaven there are people like you. But please, stay safe, it was really dangerous (both for health and for law issues)

Auri, houses in this state require a biohazard cleanup crew. Please, don't be afraid to tell people "no" and don't promise anonymity. Your channel started as a way to help people who were brave enough to come forward with their "dirty secret," but now you have dangerous people taking advantage of you. People who want to turn their life around deserve your help. Pathological liars who live in their own excrement deserve the help of a medical facility.

I think you're right that Auris channel has become big enough that unstable people do try to take advantage of her. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. She may have an ironclad contract and a gang of bikers protecting her for all I know :) But it definitely feels better to watch the people who take accountability and try to turn their life around.

I agree that she needs to be doing more to protect herself, at the very least physically with PPE from all the biohazards. But people with mental disorders do need help, and do you know any other cleaning crew or mental health clinic that would be willing or able to clean up this apartment? The property manager wouldn't have been able to get anyone to fix this, and the family upstairs was suffering from it. Auri did a service that probably no one else would do for a woman who is ill and struggling, and who still deserves compassion and help. I do think a call to social services is required here though, because she may be a danger to herself and others. But she's still a person, and I admire that Auri never forgets that either. Stay safe Auri!

@@meg2444 Auri's compassion is always something to admire and aspire to. I'm not sure what the specific services are like overseas, but in the US, a person who is deemed unsafe to themselves or others will be admitted to a facility that specializes in treating these kind of debilitating disorders. A biohazard cleanup crew will be paid to clean the apartment. A social worker will be assigned to the case to monitor the person's progress and help them. Damages would be repaid to the property owner, alleviating responsibility from the tenant. I just want to highlight that this is a situation that deserves an entire team to help "Samantha" get back on her feet. Auri is an angel for helping in the way she does, but sometimes it may be more helpful to the person for her to refuse service and recommend these types of specialized aid instead.

Ive just discovered your videos and watched 4 in a row. You are an amazing person and skilled cleaner. You are also a great teacher, ive learnt a lot and will get my house super clean - thank you. May I just concur with the health warning - my mum got a terrible lung disease later in life from exposure to building dust long term helping a family member which scarred her lungs and I wouldn't like you to suffer like she did, (like the old saying says "no good deed goes unpunished) . You are a saint, educator, story teller, and thoroughly "good egg" as we used to say in the Uk.

I literally just dealt with a “Samantha” myself with my cleaning business…you can tell she had some sort of personality disorder… but Auri please PLEASE consider wearing hazmats when doing these kinds of Jobs…you’re so very sweet and I would hate to see you sick or catching some sort of infection/disease in one of these homes…your safety is important too.

It upsets me so much that you don't use any PPE on your face. The concentration of ammonia in that bathroom must have awful. You are breathing in ammonia, chlorine, mold spores, dust, mites, and whatever other biological hazards are in that apartment. I am not certain DID has been diagnosed until it is identified that the memories of each are separate. She blamed another for the issue, but herself was living in the apartment. She maintained an awareness of the other. So scapegoating or DID? Manifesting an alter ego, is this a cover up, so she cannot be held responsible? Or true DID? It begs the issue that scapegoating may be more accurate as she strongly objected to the manager inspecting but had the wherewithall to recognize that the pictures tendered did not harm her. So was she acting out a DID roll or was she true DID? Can you see a distinguushment by her choice of words as I think Auri only interacted with Samantha and not Caroline. Think I will replay this video

I had a friend who rented a duplex next to an apartment like this. She became very very sick because of the mold and toxicity seeping into her apartment. Although people need help, they cannot continue to live like this when they are putting their neighbors at risk.

I disagree. She violated the privacy rights of her client, who is obviously suffering with mental issues. The snarky way that she read her correspondence with “Samantha” also shows a lack of respect. The property managers are perfectly capable of taking current photos of the lieu for present renovation needs without having humiliating photos of how their tenant lived in it. She was absolutely wrong to present her services as anonymous and then break that trust with a woman who obviously has pathological problems with trusting people.

There are so many, many comments here regarding Auri's lack of protective clothing and I agree very much! I hope that Auri will take these comments to heart and consider their seriousness and sincerity.

I want to say THANK YOU so very much for what you do!! I have chronic illness (several painful autoimmune illnesses) and spend days or weeks in bed at time in tremendous pain. It’s SO hard to find motivation some days to clean and organize. I have a wonderful boyfriend and four amazing kids, and they help a lot, but we had too much stuff and five people make a lot of messes, too. After watching your videos, I became motivated like never before. Seeing these homes made my own messes seem much smaller and easier to tackle. We started in my bedroom (arguably the worst Bc of the laundry!) and worked our way across the house. Over the course of a couple of weeks (I had a few bad days that set us back a bit), we’ve gotten most of the house cleaned out and under control!! It’s the BEST FEELING EVER!! I lost track of the amount of garbage backs we tossed and the amount of bags donated… probably 30+ so far. I’m so happy we are getting our space back, while also giving things to people who need it more than I do. Thank you for inspiring myself and so many others. You made the impossible actually possible. If you’re ever in Atlanta, you’ve got a volunteer scrub Buddy in me!! 🤍🤍🤍

Situations like yours can slowly creep up on a person overtime and eventually become unmanageable. I’m very happy you were able to find motivation and had a great support system that helped you tackle it before it became out of control, destructive, and unsafe!

Hey, I'm a mental health clinician, and she certainly seems to have delusions. People think that an illness like schizophrenia is only about hearing voices, but people can appear normal and just be very paranoid. And I have seen many people with homes like this, unfortunately. Many delusional people will incorporate new people or situations into their delusions. Don't be surprised if she does something like blame you for stealing something, or being allies with the drug dealers. That would be pretty standard. Thanks as always for your compassionate care of these clients! I wish we had you here in California! I would keep you busy! 😂

I saw a wig in the bathroom and I'm thinking early dementia, because of chemotherapy. Maybe not ofcourse, but that wig seems not to have been used for a bit and if you have radiation in your head and chemo, you can start dementia early.

This person is very likely psychotic and delusional. Psychotic people often have houses like this, they don't notice it because their thoughts are disorganized. She deeply believes what she is telling Auri, she wasn't lying, it is her unshakeable reality. This kind of illness is not a moral failing, it is a very sad illness and should be treated like someone with terminal cancer.

​@libbyecheverria730 hi Libby. Dr Phil says our perception is our reality. So if Samantha is perceiving the way she lives as ok or normal the brain is indeed in need of help. Our brains are a miracle and also confusing. I have looked back in my life and have dealt with a few family and friends with psychosis. One, my maternal grandfather, he ended up killing himself. Another, my sister in 1985, she killed herself. An old relationship, nothing made sense so I had to leave. It's so sad.😢

​@mariaj4883 Not in the slightest. She should have someone working with her to help her see, over time, that her behavior impacts other people. And she should absolutely 100% be evicted. This is clearly someone who can't live independently and should have a much higher level of care. It's one thing to understand the behavior and be compassionate in the response and address the actual problem, and another thing to be judgy and hold people to a standard they literally can not meet which doesn't resolve the situation at all.

That was a tough cleaning and an mentally exhausting situation. I'm glad you stayed safe and got the apartment cleaned. I believe sending the pictures was the best option to help the tenant, the owners and the neighbors. You made the right choice. Great job all around.

Oh! I needed a warning before that bathroom part started. Lol! And I like how Auri used Samantha's story about 'Caroline' to explain why she sent the pictures. "Don't you want to help Caroline?" That was great!

I disagree. She promised anonymous service and she violated that trust. Auri said that she doesn’t judge people, but the snarky way that she relayed their correspondence shows just the opposite. The management company doesn’t need humiliating photos of how “Samantha” lived in order to make renovation assessments on the apartment as Auri left it. It was mean-spirited to break the trust of a woman who has pathological difficulties with trusting people.

Would you consider posting a supplies list at the end of your videos? I'm curious about the total hours spent, the size of the area cleaned and the number of bottles/ scrubbers/ microfiber clothes used. Do you always start with fresh scrubbers and cloths at each home or are they laundered and reused? I'm amazed at how clean your clothes stay in spite of everything. And I find your attitude towards filth to be so novel, refreshing and, if I'm totally honest, slightly humorous (because it's unexpected).

In a past video Auri said she has to throw away the sponges and microfiber cloths after these cleanings. She said at home/under normal conditions she would launder them but not these ones.

@Aurikatarina - from your description of Samantha and what she was saying about the neighbours, the housing association and "Caroline" she sounds just like my mother, who was diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic with disassociative personality disorder. She had several personalities. She used to talk about people like that. Everybody was dangerous, or criminal, or something like that! Nothing was ever her fault. To people who didn't know her, she appeared normal at first. It wasn't until they got to know her and she turned on them that they realised she had a mental illness. It was very confusing growing up with someone like that for a parent. Thankfully she died quite few years ago and is at peace now.

Just because someone has schizophrenia dosent mean you should be glad they are dead. It messes people up but you still love them. My mother has it and I love her still. I would never wish she weren’t alive.

Thank you so much for this video. You helped so many people in this one amazing cleaning and it was inspiring to hear about. You didn't compromise the tenant's anonymity but you let us know the real story by letting us know what the neighbors and the property management said. I hope the tenant is gone for good, for the neighbors' sake, but I also hope she gets the mental help she needs.

Auri, I’ve been waiting all week for this follow up video! When you started cleaning next to the toilet and the sink….I realised how horrible this home must smell. That was all human waste! The tenant was very wrong to lie to you. She seems to have strong opinions on the terms of your agreement, so she still has her intelligence, just perhaps no sense. I believe the pictures the property manager requested were their job to take and they should not have involved you. To put people's trust in your ability to keep them anonymous at risk, potentially making people hesitate before asking for your help, was wrong of them. You did what you thought was right, and I hope it turns out for the best. Perhaps make a policy in your agreement to address that in the future? Just a thought. She clearly needs help, and you helped a lot! Excellent work as always! ❤

The client did not believe she was lying. She firmly believes everything she said. That is her unshakeable reality, it doesn't matter how intelligent she is. I agree the pictures should not have been shared if there was a promise of anonymity. You could always direct the property people to your KZread channel, since it's public, or they could go look for themselves since they own it and she was evicted.

Samantha definitely has hoarder tendencies. My mom was a major hoarder and was just like Samantha when we tried to clean her home. First step to healing is allowing someone to clean your home. Hope Samantha finds the help she needs.

The property management knew their own tenant. Auri posts a video. Only people who know about both are going to know who Samantha is. There is no risk there.

The property management could’ve gotten the pictures off the internet. Anonymity still exists because of the way this was handled.

@@libbyecheverria730 if the other party already knows who samantha is then there is no anonymity in the first place. The property manager shouldn't have involved Auri, but I don't think Auri did anything wrong or breached the contract, the pictures are basically public.

I don't think you did anything wrong by sending the photos in this case. (I mean, they could have just watched the video, so you weren't telling a secret.) I think that it may be what is needed to get her the help she needs, so ultimately it is for her good. It's a bit like, if you found evidence of some sort of abuse, you'd be obliged to report it.

I think it's a breach of trust. Auri should have been upfront and told Samantha before cleaning that she felt morally obligated to report conditions of the house. Now Samantha may get evicted and be on the streets suffering mental illness. Auri makes money from You Tube and sponsorships and has just betrayed the trust of the woman who is also helping her out. There's a right and wrong way to ensure the property isn't damaged and that's through regular rent inspections.

Maybe a clause to the agreement: anonymity except to the extent that you might be recognized by having your apartment shown on KZread; compliance with lawful requests by the property owner regarding the property itself (not the tenant's behaviors or belongings); and compliance with laws regarding the safety of people and animals.

Hey Auri, I want to thank you for creating these videos. I've only watched a few last night, and I felt inspired. I've been struggling to maintain a clean room and bathroom, so after watching these videos, I thought that I should finally clean them out, so I made a list of plans.
