4790K editing build and Phanteks Enthoo Pro review

Ғылым және технология

The long awaited Z97 WS, 4790K build is finally here! I decided to go with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro case since it became available after the delay in posting this video. This will be my editing build for Tech Uploaded and I couldn't be more pleased with the build experience. For the full parts list, see the link below.

    I'm finishing up a G3258 OC build in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro right now, and wouldn't ya know -- the packing foam on mine arrived pretty smashed up as well (bought mine from Amazon). It completely broke apart in 2 spots. I believe LinusTechTips had a review unit where the polystyrene came broken in a couple places as well. While 3 units isn't a big sample size - it still says something: Phanteks needs to re-evaluate it's shipping materials. Other than that - the Enthoo Pro is, in my opinion, the hands-down #1 contender in the $100 price range. Fantastic case to work with at a very good price.

    I put together my new build a couple of weeks ago in the 200R case. Very happy with it, but the two included case fans are pretty noisy so I'm thinking I'll replace those with a pair of Noctua redux fans (if the 120mm fans are any good?). No problems with the 212 Evo's fan though, very quiet. Well worth the hassle it gave me plugging in the CPU power cables :)

    Wouldn't it be better to have one exhaust fan on the top? (or two) More positive pressure is the solution for better airflow? I got the feeling that the psu cover keeps some cool air which cannot be out and it cannot cool the components. Maybe an exhaust would make the airflow better. I am not sure. I am gonna try every possible setup .

    IT would be awesome if you could do a video on H440 vs Enthoo pro air cooling cpu temps on each. I am torn on which case to buy, i really have no interest in water cooling id be going with a cryorig R1 ultimate but if you have a NHD-14 or 15 that would be an awesome test to see what case cools better with air :) Great videos btw, you should have a LOT more subs than you do, keep up the good work!

    Were the top two intakes or exhausts? I am curious on how I should be running my fans. I am planning on doing 2 120mm in the front for more airflow, obviously the rear is exhaust, but I am curious on if I should be exhausting the top ones or intaking them to create a positive pressure. Thanks

  • @EinTheVariance

    @EinTheVariance

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Alex Kapellen typically speaking, you'll want to have top mounted fans as exhaust (because hot air rises) and have top and rear exhaust while front and bottom intake. In this case though, there's not a lot of intake options on the bottom especially if you have the shroud on and both drive cages in. I personally left the 200mm in the front and moved the 140mm to the bottom (i opted with leaving the top drive cage instead of the bottom drive cage) and then an additional 120mm SP fan behind the drive cage to help pull more air through the drive cage and to my GPU. It helps keep both my HDDs and GPU cooler.

    Danial Moosa Every motherboard, case, cpu , gpu etc etc has its own manual. Installing them on a case like this will be fun (and always read the manuals) . Not so difficult to mess with :) Just be careful of the static electricity and staff like those that can harm your hardware parts (not easy but not difficult either). You'll have to lie your case on a desk or whatever, just make sure it will be stable. Avoid carpets. This video will help. Try to watch it on slower speed if that helps you out. PS: I am going buy this case this summer and play with it! Good luck

  • @t3amb4sh

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Lax Naive you can get whatever you like for static pressure, if that helps you. I just never had those kind of problems , I never use anything, I just touch metal parts with my hands to get static pressure out of my hands, just in case... i know this is not the best of the ways to do that, but this kept me out of trouble and I've been building since 2005. I am not a technician or smthing, I just build my own pc's and friends' pc's . There are some gloves etc out there, that are made specifically for those kind of reasons ! You can search all over the internet for those!
