    Georg K. I seriously doubt that acting school trach a class on how to eat food in every single one of your movies to appear humane. Brad Pitt can be a great actor and doesn't need to appear humane by eating things. Look at his performances in Interview with the Vampire or Meet Joe Black. He's got humane down to a tee and doesn't need a gimmick as strange as eating to help his performance along.

  • @Georg360s

    @Georg360s

    ***** yeah because he eats humans blood throughout the whole movie.... And yes they to teach stuff like that in drama every "special" actor has it's signature move. It is Brad Pitts to eat and Tom Cruises to run cool...

  • @TheFubbick

    @TheFubbick

    9 жыл бұрын

    Georg K. You clearly don't remeber the movie at all if you think he drank human blood the whole way through; his respect for human life and the unwillingness to surrender to becoming a hunter of humans is the very center of the story, ffs. And no, I highly doubt that actors if this calibre would STILL rely on such cheap tricks when they can basically just phone in every performance they do from now on as they have reached massive wealth long, long ago and don't actually need to keep acting; at this point its more for fun rather than for pay. Another much more plausible theory to Pitt's eating I hear was that he's a chainsmoker and when he can't smoke on set he eats instead to keep the need for smoking at bay. Sounds much more logical than 'my drama teacher said I should eat stuff to look humane regardless of what character I play'.

    Thinking about the Tom Hanks/pee connection, I was trying to find an example from the Toy Story movies, but I didn't think there was one (toys don't pee, after all). And then it hit me: in Toy Story 3, Woody escapes Sunnyside Daycare through the restroom and almost falls in a toilet. It took 'em three movies, but they finally worked it in.

    Well for Cruise, I think it's because he's a great athlete or something. I have to admit, he has a great technic. He may have a couple of records. So in every movie, if we see him running , he touch a lot more in cash. Aaaaaand for Hanks, I'd say he just love to be paid to pee on screen. Can't argue with that. And I didn't see it before, it's quiet a blowmind.

    I first noticed this about 10 years ago, when I saw two films in a row with a Swedish actor, whose name I for the life of me cannot remember. I noticed that in both films he was playing a gritty cop and in both films he was introduced by slowly rotating his head towards the camera while eating fast food, halfway through a bite, mouth full of food, trying to talk through the food without spilling any. I watched some more films with him and even when he's not the main character, he's always, always having at least one scene (sometimes more) where he does that. So I started noticing other actors having similar things going on. I called them their Actor TICS. (TICS being unvoluntary muscle movements most people suffer from, a twitching or a shake under some circumstances)

    it's shorthand. Very few common objects stick out of bags, baskets and carts like those do. It signals to the viewer immediately that the contents of that bag are unimportant and inconsequential. They *could* use something else, but there isn't much that is both innocuous and obvious. It's related to the film-principle "Chekhov's Gun" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chekhov%27s_gun) which says that every element should be important to the narrative, or not be there.

I understand women who like getting their toes sucked the same way people like having oral sex performed on them but I don't understand the people who are happy to perform it for reasons other than pleasing their partner. I mean, not to be personal, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to please my woman in that way but, if I can do it without any of those things, so much the better for me.

    Playfulpanthress This is what I mean by you don't know me, I detest religion so please refrain from projecting your views on me since I haven't done so to you. Again, there's a purpose for everything in the universe and for everything we do. We eat because we're hungry, we drink because we're thirsty, we have sex continue ourselves as a species. Food and sex are basic thought processes and the reason they're basic is to ensure that all people feel the need to survive and continue as a species. As human beings who are supposed to be more than mere animals, we're supposed to be able to aspire to achieve more than just survival. Think about it, the people who achieve anything of real significance in society, even today, are those that forgo a "love life" in some way or have one that's different and more practical than others. If you don't believe that western society has taken a sharp decline then look at the numbers. We live in a nation of single parents and obesity because society has shifted the focus from rising above and building to self indulgence and instant gratification like all empires before and we know what happens to every empire in history once they reach that level. Hell, we can't even properly educate our children anymore. Now, taking the topic off of me and my views and back to where it started. I never said that I don't understand to desire to please your partner if you care about them because I know that sex is a pleasurable experience and, like all pleasurable things, people like to share that with people they care about. What I don't get are the people do things like perform oral sex or suck toes for the sake of those actions and those actions alone.

    Oh, oh! Let me do a couple! Anthony Hopkins is always the cleverest guy in the room. No matter the situation (even if he does fall victim to his own arrogance, as is the case in most of his villain turns), he is always at least one step ahead of everyone else in either wisdom or wit. Mark Wahlberg is always super earnest about his motivations. Whatever drives him, be it love, some lofty goal, revenge or whatever else, he is always sure of his course of action, even if that course of action turns out to be the wrong one in the end. This is fun, I like this.

    I wish they would have mentioned bruce lee, there are 3 things ive noticed that he does in almost every single one of his movies. 1) The bruce lee cup check, thats right bruce lee in every movie either punches or kicks someone in a very brutal fashion straight in the nuts worst being in The Way of the Dragon where he bodily launches himself into a double kick as the guy jumps over him and he gets kicked in the nuts so hard he dies 2) the disarming kick, pretty straightforward some guy runs up and tries to intimidate bruce with a knife or gun Bruce kicks the weapon in the hilt (inanimate object nutshot) and it flies out of their hand in various ways. and 3) The Bruce Lee "Hang Back", theres a part in each of his movies where bruce lee pretty much goes fuck it i want to watch other people get their asses kicked and crosses his arms and leans back slightly to silently judge the lower life forms as the martial arts god he is

    This is true. I remember when I watched National Treasure for the first time and saw that he played the villain I found myself waiting for the seemingly inevitable moment of his death, but he actually survived, for once. He also survives in Silent Hill, which is sort of ironic, as it is a horror movie about a mysterious town that's home to many gruesome deaths and murders. But nope, he survives here as well. Although his role in that movie wasn't too big to begin with.
