I agree with you 1000%.... I've had my BMW R1300 GS Trophy for about a month now... I love my bike, is it perfect? No - Haven't found a perfect bike yet... I'll keep looking - Enjoy Life! 😊

thanks for buying the bike and working out the gremlins. will wait another 18 months and ride my ultra reliable 1250 gs until then.

I did a 1260km day from Bilbao to my Algarve villa. I couldn’t have done that ride on the 1250. This is an incredible bike. The adaptive cruise and adaptive, height adjusting suspension is a game changer.

You should not complain about the ones who complain! It is Consumers right to expect the Best from a Premium Brand like BMW. You are paying for a premium product and in return you should receive a *problem free* premium product. I owned 7 BMW bikes and only one had a Major Issue, but BMW stepped up kept me as a Happy Customer.

All that back one forth to sort out issues would do my head, I think I will buy 2 vstroms and an Enfield and get on with life

I have a fully spec’d Tramuntana absolutely love it, zero issues. Every time I park it up it has people round it and gets loads of positive comments. I just can’t fault it at all.

Well you might be happy to help BMW with their GS1300 bike development, but I'm not. I'm not spending my money on a bike with this amount of issues. Never thought they would cock up with such a significant model...When it's fit for purpose/sorted, I will reconsider, but as things stand, in my opinion it's not a good buy. I cancelled my order because I have a few tours booked for this year and require a machine I can depend on. I'll maybe get one in the future but that depends on what else becomes available in the meantime.

dont discount it ride it a few Earley bike have issues but a lot of people are coming out of the wood work now

I have ridden one. I liked it enough to order one in November for March 1st delivery. I count myself lucky now that the delivery was late otherwise I wouldn't have had time to cancel. I would have one now, without the luggage I required, but with all these issues to worry about. I'll reconsider when/if it gets sorted....they need to rethink the rear lights as well.

Completely agree Paying big money to test the thing for BMW and then saying "what did you expect" is naivety in the extreme I expect not to have issues like they're having is what I expect

Rode it for a whole day and loved the engine. But that is where the love stopped. As Morganzola100 has written, I have absolutely no interest in beta testing a 25k bike for them. You may be ok with it, and the rest of us are thankful to you for spending your hard earned cash for the privilege. It would have cost me 12k to chop in my 1250 for the 1300, but it just isn't worth it. I'm sick of hearing all the BMW snobs with more money than brains banging on about how good it is, and oh how much more powerful it is. Where does it stop? BMW could bring out a 1400 next and they'd all be stood in line with their wallets out saying oh its brilliant, so much more powerful! Cmon BMW, stop milking the daft and bring out a 900 GS with a shaft drive.

No suspension warnings just had the issue with it not starting intermittently always starts on second push of the button. I am off to Norway July just worried regarding the battery. Chiggee looks great pity I am not closer would get one fitted but live on Anglesey all the best Michael

Looks like its either love or loathe for these bikes.... I am in the latter. My demo ride lasted barely 20 minutes til one cylinder packed up and I couldnt honestly detect any earth shattering revelation, apart from it felt small and quite cheap in areas. I think its plain ugly personally. Just hope the adv version hasnt had same treatment when it lands. Going well isnt enough for me, at very big bucks I expect a great looking machine that doesnt need gremlins sorting or putting-up with. Have to say I was expecting far better from BMW for me its a fail

Indeed, if you want to be an early adopter you have to deal with some issues… if not, wait for a few months or maybe a year. It is a nice bike but the sound of that motor is like a tractor, I have a 1200lc and it sounds better in my ears… but the 1300 is another league for sure…

I’m with you, the bike is not perfect but it’s the best bike I’ve ever ridden, by far. Every time I hop on my 1290 ktm adventure I now see how amazing the new BMW really is. What are the suspension issues? The only problem I’ve had with my gs so far was it not always starting right away, only after a few seconds or tries.

Same as that like compression lock , we have had total failure of the suspension on two bikes we’ve had a radar failure blindspot indicator failure battery failure won’t start gear and they call me a moaner !!

Ah I have the Chigee! I miss the 1300 yet. :D I have a 2007GS where there is a point having the AIO-5, as it adds things the bike doesn't have... but on the 1300 is a bit "overlapping" to functions the bike does have, right?

High I have an early 1300 picked it up December. my view point exactly great bike if I had to have only one bike in my garage it would be a GS. I've not had any problems with it except for the battery. I have it hooked up to a BMW charger through the din socket canbus charging after a couple of days away on the bike battery depletes very quickly and sometimes it doesn't start first time of asking. Wouldn't change it for anything else I ride the latest S1000RR also but equally enjoy the GS. Do you think its worth me changing the battery to lead acid.

I don’t see this made any difference to be honest. I still got the complete host of electrical problems. The only good thing is it doesn’t die quickly but they are working through the problems as far as I’m aware but I’m not holding my breath read between the lines in the video I was trying to be nice.

Everyone seems to moan ! The internet is full of negativity. I ignore them.

cont: i learned my lesson with a cbr600rr...anyways its being said the bmw GSA 2022-2023 is the best model yet.

Beware of chigee. It isn’t anywhere near as good as Nick claims. Buy a purpose built Nav device. (I swapped my chigee for a ZumoXT2)

the public are always the final beta testers im afraid.ill never buy a new model i always wait for the bugs to be ironed out.
