Slow down, audit your year. 1.learn how to be happy, you might be fighting against your own happiness... drop the sword 2.forget about balance and focus on boundaries 3.fustration is a sign you are growing. It's a signal something isn't working that you have outgrown. Look for the opportunity to grow. A method to use: 3 ps. Project, process, and people. (What needs to change or updated in these areas) 4. Change takes a year...give yourself a year to make or see those serious changes in your life. Change and process takes time

struggled with finding happiness and balance in life. Mel's lessons hit home, especially dropping the sword. Aspect Health played a role too, not pushing it, just sharing my journey. her insights on boundaries and frustration resonated deeply, offering a new perspective. transformations take time, and her personal anecdotes added a relatable touch. grateful for the guidance.

I was a military kid and NEVER has a year to adjust. We moved every 2-3 years and it made me extremely adaptable. I'm so grateful to have grown up in that milieu because things like this are not an issue. So not all of us need a year to "adjust" to a new situation no matter what life throws at us.

Mel, the very first thing to do is drop the word and concept if "Try". It implies failure. Instead always think "I will DO" then launch into these 4 lessons or however many one has experienced. I learned this my first day in graduate school in 1985 and it has served me well. Great talk as I sit in the forest listening after my hike. ❤

Perhaps you learn things the hard way because life is trying to tell you something! I’m a 53 year old man. My life too was very hard, and still is somewhat. Then when I was 33 I was clinically diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Aspergers Syndrome). This diagnosis clarified everything for me. Now, Mel…and I say this with so much love for you…have you been diagnosed too? I love your ways of explaining yourself 13:21 . I still think you could be on the Autism Spectrum too. Does this ring true for you? Might you benefit from a diagnosis, my great friend Mel? I say this with so much love…❤…and I feel honoured to be able to communicate this to you. Matt xo

Please listen. I have a valuable life lesson I want to share. Don't get caught up in right and wrong or think it is split between good and bad. Especially when you correct someone who messed up. Try to be more patient. A worker at my job touched coworkers a lot. _Casually,_ on arms or shoulders. He was always very outgoing and tactile at work. Still, I'd taken him to my colleague’s office and told him he shouldn't touch anyone without consent. Just handshakes. I said we needed the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment, that he shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school. How he shouldn't tell his stories because they may be inappropriate or upsetting (I forget my words) to the other workers. Like, funny to him only? I think he’s about 25. He seemed pretty quiet during my speech. Answered a question or two with a nod and headshake. I even said to my colleague "Is there anything you want to add?" I didn't realize how insensitive I was. After work, I saw him (from my balcony) fight a group of thugs, two of whom had knives. He managed to vanquish the guys and barely dodge the knives. You have no idea how scared I was when watching the fight. I went over to see him, but the police had given him a ride. However, I saw a letter fall out of his pocket as he entered the car. Had my name. He wrote that he was so sorry for making his coworkers uncomfortable and that he never meant to. That he wouldn't have if he had known. That he wanted to make things right and redeem himself. He also explained that he had ASD and sometimes acted socially flawed, inappropriately jocular, and unfiltered. He said he felt so bad about that and that whenever he got the impression someone didn't like him, he would be quiet around them to avoid provoking them. He also wanted the person he discomforted to know he was sorry. That night, I dreamed he was dyíng in gashes and cuts. I think it was a guilty conscience mixed with my dread of the what-if. Our last moment together could've been in the office had the thugs ended him. I realized I wasn't very respectful to him. And I pushed him to tell me something I'm sure he was uncomfortable about: his ASD. And the fact that he felt the need to "redeem" himself....well, I pushed him there too. He shouldn't have to feel that way. I was right that he couldn't just touch coworkers whenever, and that he needed a filter, but being right isn't the important thing. I could've handled his mistakes better. Like, in a hallway, not in the office with me and my colleague. And I could've told him that occasional touches were okay, depending on the person. Life isn't always right and wrong. There are gray areas, and room to apologize when you were in fact right.

I feel I have an anger management problem. I think because I don’t feel I get enough time doing what I want to do. I feel like the family servant. Always running around after every one else, meeting other peoples agendas. 3 dependent quite needy children. Husband who isn’t very good at seeing what needs doing and sticks to his ‘role’ and is reluctant to be flexible and go beyond that. Eg he’ll cook dinner but won’t try to do anything in addition to that one task. He’ll wash dishes but refuse to dry and put them away. He won’t bother making the bed because that’s something I usually do. Even though it makes a big difference to the look of the room & how we sleep that night. I want to get a ahead and do things like declutter and look for a job but feel stuck & bogged down in the constant reoccurring chores like cooking, bed making, laundry, dishes. I try to get my family to help but they are reluctant, slow & inconsistent.

I have come to believe that you need the hard to learn the lesson. If it's easy many you don't learn the same lessons and you don't realize the abundance of inner strength that you have.

it works does it? Need to get a little more communication in my life with my people instead of manipulation, lies or bullying. Almost done with that phase then will see where it all goes. Always hoped somewhere nice.

People say find a mentor when you do not know how to manage. However, when you doing things that very few did, finding mentor is difficult. Trying and failing is only way?
