In this video, I share four very simple yet effective tips to help you elevate your credibility at work and increase your ‘perceived intelligence’.
1️⃣ Simplify your Language - less is more!
2️⃣ When sharing an idea, boil it down to a single point - this works wonders for credibility!
3️⃣ Up the Confidence - because confident behavior leads to greater perceived ‘competence’
4️⃣ Level-Up your Vocabulary - some slight tweaks can make a world of difference!

Thank you! I have a question for how to leverage and display confidence in the remote working environment - I have been a fully remote employee for the past two years, the rest of my team used to be in person. Now that we are all remote, colleagues are more adaptable to video calls, etc. but if you have advice on implementing and displaying confidence when not on a video call, but just a conference call, let me know as well!

I can't believe how much I learnt from this video, Shadé! My most relevant hack was: boiling down an idea to just one single point. On my Social Media accounts, instead of writing a lot of words to promote my song, or album, or music video: I can just use one simple sentence! And if I want to share the story behind the music I'm releasing, a little documentary video will be more well received than paragraphs of words, haha! Thanks Shadé :) 💛

As a introvert I often get overlooked and was in special ED because I have seizures so I have trouble with my vocabulary and Punctuation. I believe between the two it held me back from learning what I needed to learn for my future which makes me uncomfortable and less confident. In grade school my teacher kicked me out in 3rd grade because i was having to many seizures. So my mom had to start home schooling me and she did an amazing job where I was learning faster than I have ever before. I still have trouble with my vocabulary, spelling, verbs, and Ad-verbs, and grammar. Thank you

Hey Sharde, your points are all valid, however I did most of these things when I use to work at one of the Big 4 banks and it didn't seem to make a difference. I think it all depends who you work for, sometimes doing things right comes across as someone that's shaking things up, and to uneducated managers, who somehow become managers, it comes across as someone challenging conventional ways. Managers at work are all about targets, they don't really care about anything else. So unless you are a manager, the points you made really won't make much of a diff from my experience

I experienced this problem myself. It was my lack of qualifications that was the catalyst for me being overlooked, ignored and taken advantage of. Even though I had ton of experience, and was often carrying new employees who were getting paid far more then I was, I received zero acknowledgement for it whatsoever. There's a lot of talk about equality in the world at the moment, and I would like to bring to people's attention the abuse and mistreatment that goes on for low skilled/payed workers such as myself just because of a piece of paper...

Thank you for sharing this Svenka. In my experience so many people suffer from the injustice of being overlooked, undervalued and abused. I do a lot of work with women around the world who seem to universally struggle with some levels of imposter syndrome, lack of confidence, asking for what they're worth and being treated fairly. Its good to see that more people, like you are speaking out, and contributing to change the status quo.

Thank you lovely for taking the time to respond. It can indeed be very unfair and cruel out there. I just wish I studied more so I could then work for myself and wouldn't have to answer to nobody. (Apart from the taxman) I think there comes a point where you just get sick of playing second fiddle and ones patience and tolerance levels disappear. Must have something to do with overwork, frustration, and perhaps a massive dose of invisible man syndrome 😁. It can be hard to address such issues with some managers as they are more then happy to carry on treating you this way, and only believe that your causing problems and being difficult. They then try to fabricate excuses to get rid of you, as they won't tolerate any small fry rocking the boat pointing out their shortcomings. I believe that having a good education is the only way to shield yourself from such miss treatment, as it's the one thing people respect when it comes to the workplace. 🌹 Keep up the good work your doing great...😉

Thanks Shade, very useful, I agree with 4 points you mentioned, in Medical terms when we use "complications" means "we had a poor outcome" something was go go right but went wrong, so in my field and health care business I think a more neutral term like "the existing situation for us to consider", is that, let others figure it out the degree of severity or gravity.
