    @@pokemontrainer6941 I can code. But I assume you aren't able to code. Because if you could code then I doubt you would look at what the first guy did and think to yourself that is 200$ worth of code. Something as simple as movement isn't even coded well. I never said that the second guy did a bunch of coding that dwarfed the first guy. But coding isn't the only aspect of making a game. And the first guy had no heart nor quality in what he brought to the table. The second guy had both. Free assets or not is irrelevant. Literally the movement that the first guy coded is more embarrassing than any free asset one could use.

    Imo the 65 Dollar guy was the best. Made the best improvements Overall and basically Finished the game. The 100 Dollars guys changes werent that good and Almost gone in the end. And that 200 Dollars guy honestly ripped off. Delivered just basic Code you could pretty much copy from anywhere. Took them probably a Day Max to Do this. For 200 Bucks... The 65 guy probably needed a couple of days for those improvements. Working with unknown Code and improvements it is a lot of work

  • @Diana2112Gaming

    @Diana2112Gaming

    2 ай бұрын

    "A day max to do this." OK, so let's break that down. 8 hours of straight coding for an 8 hour work day, $25/hour. You consider $25/hour a ripoff rate for coding a video game? That's $10/hour more than the Fight for $15 movement for a "Living Wage" most people were literally MARCHING for just a few years ago. Coding is skilled labor, something someone trained for (I'm an electrical engineer, entry level for that kind of work is around $25/hour, I suppose our code monkeys rip off our clients?). Really amazes me when people spout off about what is and isn't a ripoff without thinking about the actual costs of it. People should be paid for their labor. $25/hour isn't a ripoff for coding. If anything, the *rest* of the devs were *underpaid* for *their* work.

    @@Diana2112Gaming first of All genius I am a software engineer making a little more than that 200$ guy. Secondly I said it is a ripoff because he didnt do a lot of work. I dont even think he worked 8 hours on that project. If any time at all. Guy also seems like an entry Level coder. And I dont think he was from the US? Just consider that other countries have different cost of Living. With my wage for example I am already upper middle class. And if I were a freelancer I would cost about 100 per hour because then I would need a lot more to get a bit more wage, as the cost for having a Business is quite high. No wonder you are not a coder. No reading comprehension and barely can think stuff through

  • @Diana2112Gaming

    @@fresch4395 First off genius I *do* run code, *and run my own business* but hey, you do you. Secondly wow racist much with the "I don't even think he was from the US" way to put other nations down. Thirdly you even admit that freelancers should get paid more, so even if he DID put in only 2 hours of work, at your self-admitted rate of $100/hr that's still $200 worth of work. Hmm... No reading comprehension and can barely think things through. Next time you fly off the handle at someone, maybe make sure you're not full of garbage first--especially since you'll note my reply to you isn't in anger or malice, merely questioning why you're being the way you are. But you're so full of anger, hate, and bigotry it's no wonder. I'm done here. Get over yourself Mr. Software Engineer. I see exactly what it is now, dude got paid good money for a job you can't even pull off and you're jealous. Goodbye and good day.

    Said it elsewhere, but it amazes me that so many people are commenting that the first dev "ripped off" BadGameDev at $200 for what they did. At a full day's work (8 hours) that's $25/hour. For *coding* work. That's not a terrible rate. It disgusts me when people think artists, musicians, and devs should be paid *peanuts* for their work, *just because* it's not physically demanding (I say this as an electrical engineer (and former gigging musician, don't come at me about how it's not physical being a musician--I'd like to see you lot do 180 days of touring body thrashing every night on stage)). Do better, people.

    Make a game about this story Once upon a time, in a small village nestled at the foot of a mighty mountain, there lived a young girl named Luna. Luna was known for her adventurous spirit and her insatiable curiosity about the world around her. One day, while exploring the forest near her village, Luna stumbled upon an old, dusty book hidden among the foliage. Intrigued, she carefully opened its worn pages and discovered a map that led to a hidden treasure said to possess magical powers. Without hesitation, Luna embarked on a thrilling journey to find the legendary treasure. Following the map's intricate trails, Luna crossed sparkling rivers, traversed dense forests, and climbed steep cliffs. Along the way, she encountered diverse creatures who offered both aid and challenges. She made friends with a mischievous fox who guided her through a labyrinthine maze, and she helped a wounded bird find its way back to its nest. As Luna continued her quest, she faced numerous obstacles that tested her courage and determination. She solved riddles, navigated treacherous caves, and overcame her fears. Along the path, she learned valuable lessons about perseverance, kindness, and the power of believing in oneself. Finally, after a long and arduous journey, Luna arrived at the fabled Chamber of Wonders, where the treasure awaited her. The chamber was filled with shimmering light, and at its center stood a magnificent crystal adorned with intricate engravings. As Luna approached, the crystal emitted a soft, gentle glow and whispered ancient secrets of wisdom and magic. Luna realized that the true power of the treasure was not in its physical form but in the knowledge and enlightenment it bestowed upon those who sought it. Filled with a sense of awe and gratitude, Luna vowed to use the wisdom she gained to make her village and the world a better place. With newfound wisdom and a heart full of dreams, Luna returned to her village, where her tales of adventure inspired others to embark on their own quests for knowledge and self-discovery. From that day forward, Luna's village thrived with the spirit of exploration, creativity, and unity. And so, Luna's story became a legend, passed down from generation to generation, reminding all who heard it that within each of us lies the potential for extraordinary journeys and the power to unlock the treasures of our own hearts and minds.
