The 3DS transfer makes it look like they are just moving houses,while the Wii to Wii U transfer makes it look like they are finally moving out to a different first-party country for a better life.

Remember when Nintendo was fun and had creative little features everywhere you went? With nice music and playful design to keep you interested and great music every app that you use? Colorful themes for the home screen instead of just single black or white colors? Small EASTER EGGS like celebrating your birthday or that small present box you could open every time you first download a game? Game jingles? Home screen or eshop music? Any single online service? Yeah that? It's all gone now... The Nintendo charm has slowly faded away ever since Miyamoto was the only one left...

The 3DS and other old consoles is better!

So sweet seeing this animation when I upgraded from an "old" 3DS XL to a "new" 2DS XL. (I later sold the original 3DS.) I just felt sad seeing a bland progress bar when transferring to a new Switch OLED.

I know!! I miss the character that the Wii-3DS era had. Nintendo games will always be the best, but the rest of the software is so soulless now just like the other consoles

Same, though I still kept my old 3DS (so I could trade Pokémon with myself 😁).

I remember this process, I had returned home after buying a New 3DS XL on vacation, and I thought it was so cool watching the little Pikmin carry my save data.

i like the wii to wiiu animation better, but this was still a really neat touch

I actually just realized that if the System Transfer feature was available on the 3DS since its launch, than I guess this System Transfer came first which is weird to think about... this actually makes me appreciate this transfer more

@@ShyGuy. I'm pretty sure the feature was added in December 2011, but I didn't know as I never used the 3DS until 2020 and I was very little when the feature was added, anyways

I love on how they putted the sound effects from the Pikmin games into the transfer animation with the pikmin. I remember useing this tool when I got a galaxy 3ds xl.

On the Switch all you get is a boring Progress Bar. a Pikmin Animation like this would be charming and a way for them to sell Pikmin 4 lololol

Yeah, 3DS and Wii to Wii U transfer animation was better. This is why I'm excited for my new system, so I can watch the Pikmin movie again.

I did this when I got my new 3DS.

I hope we get something like the DS-3DS/Wii-WII U family in the next few years. I find the Switch Generation a bit dull

Nintendo really went all out with the DSI and Wii system transfer software. With these cute little Pikmin carrying your data to the next console. They really just fell off with the Nintendo Switch. It's so bland and lacks so much of the life the Wii and DS consoles had!

I used a 32gb micro adapter card before doing the data transfer process.

This is why i am so excited to get a new 3ds. I want to watch the Pikmin movie again

I wish I had done this with my current 3DS, but I'm about 4 years too late for that now, and I won't do it unless you can do it without formatting the target system.

For some reason, I'm super excited to watch the Pikmin movie when I transfer. (But does it play if it's a PC-based one? I once did a system transfer two years ago, but i think i used a different method, so I saw the Pikmin movie, and because of something i'd rather do a one with a computer, but the computer thing only applies to SD cards, and also i am not transferring from an old 3DS to a new 3DS, both my old system and the new one will be a New Nintendo 2DS XL)

@@NintendoDuo Nah. New 3DS only uses a microSD card, because at the end, it said “Please use the source system’s SD card with this system.” It wouldn’t say that if you transfer from an original 3DS to a New 3DS or from a New 3DS to a New 3DS (it would actually say the same thing, but mention “microSD” instead of “SD”).
