just get 1 if you can. the 1 alone has a silly amount of output vs anything i've ever heard of felt before.

2:22 For the crossover, just set it to OUT, and let the receiver handle the bass management. You don't want to cascade your crossovers.

Glad you talked about Projector rattle. That is a huge issue when you have capable subs.

it really is! i cringe when i see ceiling mounted projectors because you just know they're going to bounce & vibrate if there's ample bass in the room, ugh.

Since they are so big, and so close together, I almost wonder if they will end up acting as one big sub anyway? course every front seat practically has it's oww driver so...I think you'll be good! Got an update on mys tuff, my Marantz 7055 got here yesterday, my Epson 6050 should arrive at my dealer Friday, then back on a truck to my house early next week. Fially the av7706 is...who knows, Marantz is working on finding me one, but no eta just yet. Thats ok, the projector is the most important part, once that's here safe, I'll feel a lot better. Ordered mid February. Getting stuff is a real challenge right now. Oh, I also got a panamax power conditioner for a pretty decent sale price, that also came today. Coming together, still gotta order my screen, and that's really the last big piece, I already got my 4 SVS Prime elevations for my atmos, that was a order friday, unbox it Saturday kinda deal, so smooth and seamless. Resisting spending $2400 on a pair of SVS PB 3000's....I know I want and need subs, I just dunno if I can/should yet. hard to resist....

i would add some single jtr's behind my screen but they won't fit, ugh. diy will have to do. the nearfield on these captivators is outrageous i love it. congrats on your purchases as well! you will love it!

Sweet... do you feel like you jumped the gun, on placement? You built the slots for the subs without ever testing your response in those positions. Or did you use a room mode calculator? just curious.

  • @aaromon43

the single cap directly behind the MLP was incredible. adding the 2nd was not to fix room modes, it was to lower the workload on the existing and give the other front row seats the same internal organ rearrangement. my plan is to add some smaller diy subs behind my screen up front to fix the room modes. additionally, the room is small and there aren't really any other locations that allow me to use dual cap 4000's and have all of the seating i do. is it all ideal? far from it, but i'm really happy with it.

yeah they're a bit high for shorter folk. going to make a small step to get up into them on the left & right sides of the subs.
